I have custom validator apllied to many comboboxes in different tabs of application. Its is performing the same validation for all the comboboxes. The only difference is for ecah combobox the custom validator should return a different error messagae. How can error message be specified...?...like some error property in mxml or by somehow passing the error message as parameters to custom validator class.

I have a data grid where users can drag columns and reposition them. But there is a strange requirement that some columns should not be draged to the left of some other column. eg, assume the columns are: name, price , start date, end date, The end date should not be dragged and placed before the start date. i.e. The user can have start date, price , name , end date. name, start date, price , end date. But at no point can end date appear before start date. Is there a way to do this flex? Is there a way to know where the user is trying to drop the column and show error message ?
I use fileReference.download() to download files. The fileReference send request to java servlet.In servlet, some error may be checked. For example error - 'File not found'. I want to send the error to flex side. I tried lots of methods,but fileReference in flex can't receive them.Such asresponse.sendError(HttpServletResponse.SC_NOT_FOUND, "File not found");r PrintWriter out = resp.getWriter(); out.print("File not found");It seems fileReference can't triggers event 'DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA' and'HTTPStatusEvent.HTTP_STATUS'.
I am using AIR with tomcat..(blaze ds as bridge) but i changed in service.config also in server side but i got the following error.. how to rectify this problem Result : [RPC Fault faultString="Send failed" faultCode="Client.Error.MessageSend" faultDetail="Channel.Connect.Failed error NetConnection.Call.Failed: HTTP: Status 404: url:
I have a Validator on a RadioButtonGroup of 2 Radios. There's a checkbox above the RadioButtonGroup whereby if checkbox.Selected, then the Radios are enabled. So the Validator is required if the checkbox.Selected. So far so good. The problem is once a radio gets selected, the RadioButtonGroup selectedValue gets set. When I uncheck the checkbox I set the radios to not selected, but the selectedValue on the RadioButtonGroup doesn't get reset -- it hold the previous value. I tried setting it to null but no luck.
Therefore if I check the checkbox again and submit, the Validator see a selectedValue on the RadioButtonGroup. Even though none of the radios are selected, validation passes. How can I reset the RadioButtonGroup to its initial state when I uncheck the CheckBox? I looked at the underlying code for RadioButtonGroup.selectedValue = null, and what it does is look for a radio in the with the parameter value. If it doesn't find it nothing gets set.
I have followed this tutorial to implement an IP Validator over a TextInput. But, I have not been able to resolve following error for some hours. Error: Could not resolve <flexScript:IPAddressValidator> to a component implementation. MasterTabNavigator.mxml /XflowGUI/src/view
I'm working on a flex 3 application which will initially support only one language (which is not English) but may need to support English and other languages later. So I'm using the standard localization technique, with resource bundles. Now, somewhere I use the validators like EmailValidator which have some error messages displayed, these are in english and come with the flex sdk. How do I localize those messages?
I am working on a product options form whose contents should be cleared by a clearOptions() method each time the user adds an option. The option name TextInput is bound to a value object that is reinstantiated each time the the user adds a product option. The problem I am having is that the StringValidator fires each time the bound value object is reinstantiated.
I have a need to validate a field against our database to verify unique-ness. The problem I seem to be having is that the validators doValidation() exits before we've heard back from database.
How can I have the validator wait to return its payload until after we've heard from the DB?
Or perhaps a better question might be (since I think the first question is impossible), how can I set this up differently, so that I don't need to wait, or so that the wait doesn't cause the validation to automaticallly return valid?
I'm working with flex 3.5 and I have a problem with a validator. I have a field that dynamically has o has not an asigned validator, the problem is that in a specific moment the field haven't the validator assigned but the textInput had a red border.I dont know what do I have to remove the red marker?Here is an example of my validator: This is the validator:
And I have a button that been enable or disable because it has a binding with a boolean var isFormValid.The most weird thing is that when remove the validator the button becomes enables but the red border is still in the textInput.
Basically I am trying to create a string Validator which requests a new language from its controller by dispatching an event upon its creation.
The example below is a straight copy from the Flex3 component explorer - the only diffrence being that I have created the validator as a custom component which dispatches an event upon its creation.
The problem is that my main Application cannot hear the event being dispatched and I don't know why.
I have referred this for creating error message tool tips, to be displayed continuously unless the error is resolved by the user. :: [URL]
But, this is being applied to a pop-up window visualized as a pop-up form.
When the user clicks 'CANCEL' button, I want the error message tooltips if present to be cleared off from the screen. The message tool tips remains on the screen even if the CANCEL button is clicked.
I have a bug to fix in work where the UK Pound symbol, £, is allowed in the domain name. I checked the EmailValidator source and can see that it is not a disallowed symbol, whereas things like the dollar sign are:
public class EmailValidator extends Validator { include "../core/Version.as";
[code].....
As you can see DISALLOWED_DOMAIN_CHARS string does not include the £ sign. Was thinking of monkey patching (basically copying the entire class, editing it, and adding it to my src - for those not in the know), but we use RSL's, so that would be problematic.
I am reading attempting to load XML from a ByteArray as follows:
[Code]...
When I do that, I receive the following runtime error on the XML constructor when I run in Flash Player 9: TypeError: Error #1088: The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed. This error message doesn't occur in Flash Player 10. I can use the debugger to verify that the XML looks well-formed. The XML is in UTF-8.
I have implemented application client-server with spring blazeDs message services using JMS message destination. The idea is a producer declared in Java send message using activeMQ and consumer declared in Flex receives them. I have configured the AMFChannel with a polling interval 0, but I have seen when the consumer subscribes to the destination in Flex, the time request can be of up to 3 seconds.
I am trying to and I have the following message error:"the video player is in the connection error state. It enters this state when a video stream attempted to load but was unsuccessful. There are two possible reasons for the error: no connection to the server or the stream was not found."
I've created some error handling for external images loaded via a path in XML. Within the Flash preview it's fine and shows the full error message (and most importantly, the URL that isn't loading).
But in the browser, even locally, it doesn't out put this message!
Here's my code:
function loadIOError(event:IOErrorEvent){ errorLog+=event.text+' '; }
#1006: value is not a function. at MethodInfo-43() I don't know what the problem is, or where could it be, here is the problem code, but first a brief description: Every 3 seconds 3 enemies will be created with a random position, the enemies can't be appearing on top of the other so I check if they collide with any previously added enemies, if they do I assign other random coordinates and check again until there is no collision (I'm using the collision detection kit CDK for the collisions[URL]..the first 3 enemies appear correctly but afterwards the error appears and the next time the program enters the generation part the enemies begin appearing in ridiculous numbers.
How can I send a message to the currently logged in user from inside a Flex application contained in a Facebook iFrame and using the official AS3 Library for Facebook?
I've been working with a 3rd-party multiplayer engine for a game I'm developing. A lot of messages get sent during certain times (loading, etc) to the point where it is possible that multiple messages may be sent per gameloop. To solve this problem, I am attempting to create a delayed message processing scheme. this function is invoked every time a new message is received:
Code: // called by the Client public function PushMessage(gameMsg:GameMessage):void { messageQueue.push(gameMsg); }
And at a point in the gameloop, I want to process these messages and clear the message queue. The only problem: there is no assurance that the messageQueue won't be modified during that time. The messages in AS3 are basically interrupts (possibly overlapping), and I can't find any way to temporarily disable event dispatching for a specific EventDispatcher-derived class.
So at this point I can think of only two options. The first is to write a mutex using a Boolean and setTimeout. I do not want to do this for obvious reasons (bad! BAD!). The second is to give up on a delayed processing model.
i am new to flash (yet i have been using it for years) by that i mean, i struggle with it a lot. i was hoping someone could help me with the "incompatible override" error message and the "duplicate function definition" message.
i am currently trying to learn ZendAMF, but i have a hard time troubleshooting which makes learning it quite hard. Is there a way to make the PHP file throw an exception that gets traced as an error message in AS3 (not Flex), the only error i seem to be able to get is "Error #2044: Unhandled NetStatusEvent:. level=error, code=NetConnection.Call.Failed", but it tells me jack ****.
i have gotten ZendAMF working, i just want to know how i can make error handling better, so that as an example can use PHP to tell flash that no results were found, or that the typed text was invalid. Is it better to use AS3 to check if the field was filled properly?
I am developing a static flex application which does not have a database connection, all the values are hardcoded(its just a prototype for the original app). Now when I click the save button, i need to get a message like saving in progress... please wait, I need to display this message for 3 seconds.
I was wondering inside faultHandler how I'm able to identify what message causes the error. As it seems there's no way to get the reference to the original message.This is the code snippet how the message is constructed and sent.
private function sendMessage():void { var message:AsyncMessage = new AsyncMessage(); message.body = userName.text + ": " + input.text;
