Flex :: Creating A Thumbnail Itemrenderer For A FileSystemTree?

i have build an air app that has an extension of a FileSystemTree Component in it, to display only the jpg files and directories in the file system.a checkbox allows the user to choose whether to see the items in the tree as thumbnails or regular (labels+icons) tree items (the tree has variableRowHeight set to true).
if the checkbox is selected, any time a branch in the tree is opened all the thumbnails of the jpeg files in that directory are rendered first.this part of the application works fine (the thumbs are created).my custom itemrenderer is an extension of the TreeItemRenderer class.
the display of the items in the tree is unpredictable and scrolling the tree makes it worse. i am pretty sure that i didn't override the "lifecycle" functions of the component (the invalidation and validation methods) correctly.
i have added a function called thumbToggle which informs the itemrenderer if the checkbox is selected or deselected while the tree is idle.
what is your opinion in overriding set data, invalidateProperties, invalidateSize, invalidateDisplayList, commitProperties, measure, updateDisplayList and other functions to achieve a smooth operation of such a tree?

Now when I click on the image datgrid column should be editable, for that I am using a textinput as an itemeditor. Now I also want to highlight all those cell for this datagrid column which are having data more than 8 characters. I am able to do this separately using 2 different itemrenderers. But I want to get this all together. Can we have multiple itemrenderer for any datagrid column?
I was wondering how can i filter the fileSystemTree of adobe air.I will like the fileSystemTree only shows folder that consist of images only.I tried with the code below, by filtering the folders with extensions of .jpg and .png.This will display only files that have that extension. Therefore that file does not consist of any images, i will not want to display it when the fileSystemTree is first initialize.
I am creating a gallery of video thumbnail.Also I am planning to set the frame of video on each thumbnail to first frame of video .When i load a single video,its working. But when i tried to load more than one video on different thumbnail movie clip in a for loop, its not working. This is my live project.can anybody help me.its very urgent. I tried with many possibilities that i know. I am a 3 month experienced flash programmer.

I've found several good tutorials in AS2.0 on creating a scrolling thumbnail menu bar for adding to a photo gallery, but nothing in AS3.0. Anyone have a tutorial or code they'd like to share?

I have implemented a thumbnail. Then when I click on the thumbnail images, i want to create a popup window in flash. But the problem here is that no action is performing when i click on the thumbnails.

How would you guys go about creating an horizontally scrolling panel of thumbnail images? I want a panel that scrolls for ever in both directions and it also needs to be controlled via two arrow buttons not a mouse over type scroller. I would also like to animate with Tweens in action script to get a nice smooth scroll.I know some as3 but I can't work out how to make the scroller repeatedly scroll in both directions.
I am creating an image gallery where the user can select from several thumbnail images. Once selected, the thumbnails will enlarge and load the full sized image. My problem is that while the user is waiting for the full sized image to load, he may decide to close that image and view another image. I am trying to find a way to stop a loader from loading.ere is the code I have used. My problem is that even though the user has clicked on the unloadBtn, the loader continues to load the file. Is there a way to disable that?
I'm working on creating a gallery for my portfolio site. I have thumbnails of all my work. I've turned them into button and made it so when you rollover it, a larger preview of it appears with a description of the piece, off to the side in a designated area. Instead of making my stage larger or creating more pages to contain all my thumbnails, I made a vertical scrollbar. The scrollbar works just fine. The problem is when the thumbnail is moved, the rollover that would be moves in relation to it.how can I absolutely make sure that any rollover I create with a button is where I want it to be, no matter where the thumbnail moves to?
i have a problem using the itemRenderer functionality. When using an ArrayCollection the visible Data in the DataGrid using the itemRenderer will be rendered just fine. But if i start scrolling the entries are repeating in the cells using the renderer. The cells are not filled with date according to the id. What mistake i'm doing here.

Anyone know how to change a single instance of an item renderer for a Flex tree item at runtime? I have implemented drag and drop between 2 AdvancedDataGrid, but the default behaviour from Flex displays the row data during the drag using the grid item renderer showing all 5 columns.

Now i would like to make a loop for the thumbnails so they don't have a beginning or end(Now when i scroll to the right the thumbnails stop at the last thumbnail, i want it to begin at the first thumb again).I'm also trying to make that the middle thumbnail represents the photo in target_mc.
I am making a gallery, which you can view here:[URL]ok, firstly, when you click a thumbnail, you cannot scroll them until you roll off the click thumbnail, and I'm not sure why. is it just a movieclip thing? or can I put some code in to re-get focus of something? ok, now for the two general questions:
1. When you roll over the thumbs, they go up, sometimes they flick back down though, even though you are rolled over them still. is this just because they are moving?
How can we navigate within an itemRenderer? For example, in Views we use the View.navigator (ViewNavigator) to push and pop views, there is no such feature in ItemRenderer.
I have a List which has TextInput as itemRenderers for all its items. Upon application launch the items are rendered in the TextInputs correctly. The data is being populated from an Array of Objects.
What I want is, after the data has been populated in the ItemRenderers, I want to have an additional item renderer (TextInput of course)...so that if the user wants to enter another item, he can put it in the additional textInput.
And I also want to add the additional itemRenderer each time the user has added a new item and taps ENTER on the newly added item.
Below is my itemRenderer, there is the clearTxt_enterHandler handler..but I wonder how to add another itemRenderer upon "Enter".

I have an AC with several questions and assoicated answers. These must be shown in a DG, and the idea is that the rows and colums of the DG are bound to the AC. For example, if the answer to question1 is Yes, the Yes-button must be true, and both the others must be false (as in normal radiobuttongroup behaviour). But when I change a button by clicking it, the actions datafield of the AC should change accordingly. Am I clear enough here?

I've created a custom ItemRenderer extending UIComponent and implementing IListItemRenderer. This renderer contains a Text-Object to display the value.
For editing I'm using the standard ItemEditor (TextInput).
Now, when I want to edit a value, I click on a cell and the editor is created. But instead of displaying the value which was displayed in the renderer, "[object Object]" is displayed.
I am using a custom componenet based off of text as an itemRenderer for a dataGrid that is displaying an XMLList. I want to be able to re-use this itemRenderer for multiple columns, how do I access the dataGridColumn so I know which field to assign to the text value?
super.data gives me the whole XML item, super.parentDocument gives me the whole DataGrid
I have a custom item renderer which I use for my DataGrid. The DataGrid has specified selectionColor, rollOverColor and themeColor. The Problem is that the custom item renderer, does ignore those colors, and doesn't give any Feedback...
