I have designed an application that will load the information from an XML File to a Pie Chart.
First my XML looked like this
[Code]...
Now this works perfectly and I can see the generated Pie Chart. But now let's say that I changed the XML in the following manner.
[Code]...
in the results event how do I access it? bookStock = evt.result.books.stock.bookinfo; doesn't work. I get a "Error: Unknown Property: 'bookinfo'." When I analysed the bookStock object I get this. How do I access the XML element now? Does anything needs to be changed here?
I am trying to save a component as a JPG file and I can't seem to get the BitmapData.draw() to give me the pixels I'm expecting and instead I am seeing a plain white rectangle when I open the resulting JPG file. I am first creating an object which contains an image and a caption (the MultigraphCanvas below) and when I display the object as a pop up it looks perfect -- however when I try to draw it as a bitmap and then encode and save it as a JPG I don't end up with the same image I can display on the screen. [code]...
This was a simple test to use the transform matrix to rotate an object about its center point. But I noticed that the object was moving ever so slightly (up and to the left in this case). I added a bounding box so you could see the motion.
I'm trying to display objects from class files and methods.
Now I was looking at the source of this project here [URL]
To learn how to do this from AS3, main question I have how is the Main() class being called there? There is no actionscript in the frames of the FLAs so where is the call coming from to the Main class to initialize display? Is there something special about the Main() class that has it called when a swf is loaded.
I tried to duplicate it by making a simple Main which extends MovieClip and simply placing it in the root folder of the project but it isn't being auto called and it hasn't worked.
I'm trying to get rotating and growing badges inside of one another. I've got a movieclip ("badgeanimation") that rotates and grows. I want to have several of them spinning and growing inside of one another, and have it go on forever. My script below places one clip but then just replaces it. How can I get some of them going at the same time, inside of one another?
In a fla file (flash8) I added an "Input-text" naming the var: "varInput", and selected "Numeral [0..9]" from "Character Embedding".I added another input object, this time of "Dynamic -text" text type naming the var:"varOutput". I also added a button naming its' instance name:"btnDisplay".In "actions" panel I wrote the following [code]....
A client needs a standard consumer color printer for printing name badges from my flash app. Last time we used the app, I couldn't do any pre-testing of their computer and printer beforehand. So, of course, the margins were completely wrong when the time came to print. Ideally, I'll have the flash app's bugs worked out for the next run, but for safety's sake does anyone know of a printer that has good controls for custom margins and offsets, in case some minor adjustments are needed?
i have a big issue in AS2. I would like to populate an array on mouse click and show immediately this element on the stage.
It's possible to make something like this. Every click on a specific object on the stage, loads into the array a library movieclip. If the array is not empty I would like to show each movieclip in a column each one below the other.

I have 3 arrays, each containing a random number of elements.
Lets say: array1(), array2(), array3()
I want to display information from 6 array elements on my stage, ideally 2 elements from each array. However, as the arrays may contain more or less than 2 elements, if an array has < 2, I'd like to make up for it if the other arrays have > 2 by showing extra from those arrays instead. As evenly as possible. I'd like to know at the end how many elements of each array to add to the stage (Maximum of 6 altogether).i.e.If we say array1.length() is 3, array2.length() is 1, and array3.length() is 1 - then I'd like it to display 3 from array1, and 1 from the other two arrays. If we say array1.length() is 0, array2.length() is 4, and array3.length() is 5 - then I'd like it to display 3 from each of array2, and array3.So as to get 6 wherever possible, and spread them out evenly wherever possible.
I have a MovieClip called item with the same linkage set and my first task is to display 10 of these items on the stage nested inside a movieclip called MainItem. I have dragged MainItem to the stage and have the following for loop:
my application uses a webView to display flash webpage. And there is a inner button which direct other url. I want to click the button then go to the system browser. But it doesn't work in Android 3.2 tablet. So I override the shouldOverrideUrlLoading method, :
@Override public boolean shouldOverrideUrlLoading(WebView view, String url) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub
I want to load an external swf called 'signs.swf' into an empty mc called 'signholder'.
var loadit2 = new Loader(); loadit2.load(new URLRequest("signs.swf")); signholder.addChild(loadit2);
Everything works. Cool. But, I now want to target something within the signs.swf. How do I do it though? What is the path? Do I have to give the child of signholder an instance name? Everything I try fails.
If I wanted the root timeline of the external swf to gotoAndPlay(2) for example,...would i say...
signholder.loadit2.gotoAndPlay(2) ??? var wow:MovieClip = loadit2.content as MovieClip; wow.gotoAndPlay(2) ????
I am having issues with startDrag(). I have a movie clip called circle. Inside circle, I have a movie clip called circleFill and another called circleOutline.onEnterFrame, this movieClip is duplicated 4 times.
When I use this: private function onPressNow(event:MouseEvent):void { startDrag(); } IT DRAGS ALL 4 MOVIECLIPS.
[Code]...
how can I make it drag my movieClip called circle? (meaning both circleFill and outlineFill)
i have a box called infoBox that contains a text field called caption. infoBox expands on mouse-over. When it does so, I do not want the text in caption to scale up - I want it to stay at 11 pt. So far my code to prevent this from happening is not working:How do I fix this?[URL]..
I am having difficulty getting a reference to elements added after compile-time using the 'id' property. I have seen a few forum topics suggesting that this isn't possible, and that getting a reference to elements added this way is trickier, but never just exactly what that trick is. This code throws a fun little: Error: uncaught exception: Error calling method on NPObject! [plugin exception: "ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property canvas_tentpoles_0 not found on SGraph and there is no default value."].
I've been banging my head against the wall with this one. I have the following set function in Flex. [code]If I set the periodChangeAmount to -1 or 1 the set method gets fired. If I set it to zero it doesn't get fired. What's the deal? Does anyone know why it wouldn't get called when setting it to zero. If I change the object type to a number or even an object it still doesn't work as expected.
How do I identify all the display objects in the display list in ActionScript, bellow the one that I have clicked? All the other objects are shadowed by the first one. What if other objects have visible parameter as hidden?
I have a DataGrid where one of the columns has a labelFunction. When I run the application a scrollbar shows up in the DataGrid indicating to me that it has data but there is nothing in the DataGrid. When I scroll items start showing up. When I Debugged it I noticed that the labelFunction was never being called until I started scrolling. Does anyone know why this is happening?
I am working on a Flex Front End at the moment, and have been using the Parsley framework for passing messages/events around.
I was wondering if there is a simple way for a function (in this case, an event's constructor) to obtain a reference to the object which called it?
This is to ensure that a certain event that I am defining can only be dispatched by one specified class. My thinking is to check the caller of the constructor somehow, and throw an error if it is not of the correct type.
I have a MenuBar, which is using a XMLListCollection object as a dataProvider.I wish to add and remove elements from this collection at runtime. How to add / remove elements from XMLListCollection ?
