Flex :: Export Chart/Graph/component Into Xls File Without Using Server Side?

Flex: - Is it possible to export Chart/Graph/component with dataGrid data into xls file without using server side?
(Web Application)
I have gone through number of article but could not find any hind to do. As per few article it is possible to export data of dataGrid into xls by using as3xls-1.0.swc but not Chart.
I am looking to export data from dataGrid as well as Chart.
I want to download files from the server side to client side without prompting a window to the user to download when any updates happen at server side.Right now I am using urlstream class but first file is downloading completely rest of the files contents downloading partially.
editCode sample taken from other post. Warning: it's a huuuge chunk o'code.
Here is my question:I have a hybrid chart that uses bars and linesI want to add to the right vertical axis a horizontal line that represents a break even
I want to exported designed components from Flash Catalyst to IDEA.Because FXPL is a specific adobe format, i need it in a little bit more generic format like an swc.So how is the best way to get my component into an swc ? I found a lot of scripts / hacks to pack actionsscript / flex assets into an swc but i would like to have an "official" way.
Is there anyway to export JSON data to CSV/Excel without any interaction with the server side? Using Javascript only? or Flash? I'm currently using ZeroClipboard to copy the value into the clipboard but I'd like to open directly the generated value into Excel from the browser (FF, Chrome, IE, etc...).
I have a java class which has been deployed as WAR web application in a BlazeDS/Spring server sitting on JBOSS. Apart from the Flex application which will access the WAR file, I also need to start some server side process's which will initiate BlazeDS "pushes" to the Flex client via AMF messaging.
What is the best way to implement this server side process? - Should it just be a class with a main() method in the WAR file which gets called from the command line? Can this be done - not sure you can run a class in a WAR file from command line? - Should it just be a class with a main() method in a JAR file which gets called from the command line? Not sure what the standard practise here is. The key is that the process needs to be started on the BlazeDS server to push data out (not on the Flex client).
We are trying to create a sqlite db file using java on the server, and encrypt it.Then we send the encrypted db file to a client's pc, which has an Adobe Air desktop app running.The air app then needs to be able to open/read-from the encrypted db file (client is read-only).We are using java 1.6, flex/actionscript 4.5, and Air 3.1.We can create the sqlite db file on the server and send it to the client, and it can be read by the client without issues, when we do not encrypt it.But we are having trouble with the encryption part. We've read quite a lot of documentation about Actionscript's ability to open encrypted sqlite files using AES + CCM (URL...).And we're trying to use java's crypto package to encrypt the sqlite db file.The encryption is important because we don't want the client to be able to open the sqlite db file with any sqlite browser, only with our Air application.
I want to create an application that has these features
- At client side: Display a list of images, when user click on one image, data will be stored in MySQL database.
- At server side: Manage images used in client side, I can delete, add new images.
Is this possible for me to achieve this using Flex? And if it is able, will my output be 2 separate SWF files? And where can I find the materials to read on writing such applications?
User interacts with Adobe flex webpage to configure reports based on some data stored server side. They configure their view and have THAT view emailed to them daily. I've got the report builder, the part I'm trying to figure out is how to render the report server side and send it out as email (native flex functionality? convert to html? take screenshot? assume something is running client side?...)
I am writing a thesis and have been able to place all my frameworks under two categories (client-side frameworks and server-side frameworks), but I can't seem to finf where to place Adobe Flex...In which category should I place this or should I place it in some separate catgeory?
Does anyone know of a good charting/graphing tool that supports dynamic pie charts, i.e.where a user could change the values by dragging, etc? It would need an event API so I could get access to the changed values.
Does anyone knows if it's possible to write some bytes received from an AIR or Flex client in a server side file using the File class ? I have been trying for hours without any result.My goal is to store on the server side a swf file sended by a client in a ByateArray.Here is the code I have ended with, assuming that myfile.swf alreadey exists on the server prior to the code execution, and is at the right place, and that pBytes is a ByteArray received from the client which contains a swf file :
function writeFile( pBytes ) { var myFile = new File( "myFile.swf" );
How can I Create an animated Bar Chart or Line Chart type of component in flash programmatically, which should depends upon an incoming XML data, the chart should have the basic criteria like, Chart Label, Item Tooltips, background grids (without using any image). There also needs an ability to change the data which should reflect the chart as well.
I want to draw stock price in real time as a candle graph. I get open flash chart from someone and it looks good at drawing. I don't know how to update the candle graph in real time (using Ajax?), and is it a good way? I use Python a lot. But I cannot find tools as easily to use as OFC.
My company have a web application product for distribution planning and scheduling. An important part of it is a gantt chart component where user can fine tune the schedules. Currently the gantt chart component is pure javascript+dhtml.I am currently looking into the possibility of moving to Flex to get richer interactivity and generally nicer UI.
The question is: is there any good interactive gantt chart component for Flex?By "interactive" I mean that user can interact with the gantt chart and modify data using it, as opposed to just seeing it as part of a reporting use case.
Below is the code. When the swf is connected to FMS(the connection is successful) I use this application.user_so.send("enterContestGroup"); to call the client side mothed. You can see that in the client side I have defined the "enterContestGroup" mothed. However the fact is it doesn't call that mothed. Can anybody tell me what the error is
For my application I need a component (or combination of components) that shows a number of different types of events along a timeline, displays them in different ways as specified and allows you to click/hover along the timeline to add/modify/get details on events.
Basically I want a timeline across the top, always showing a 24hour period, but starting at variable points. I need to have different rows of variable height to display different types of data in different ways. for instance: row 1 will display the 'value' attribute as a circle whose diameter reflects value amount and change color based on a 'typecode' attribute. row 2 will display a line graph and plot chart based on different numbers (like one chart but with the datapoints as larger dots), and will also chart out trend of following or previous data if it exists. behind row 2 will display the same thing but for 5 previous days progressively more transparent
i'm building my first RIA in flex, and did a little of research to find a radar chart component free, but all i found is not free (licence >500$).Where can i find it for free ?
I have a several chart components that I have created in Flex. Basically I have set up a special UI that allows the user to select which of these charts they want to print. When they press the print button each of the selected charts is created dynamically then added to a container. Then I send this container off to FlexPrintJob.
i.e.
private function prePrint():void { var printSelection:Box = new Box();
[Code]....
I have seen some examples on the adobe site that add the container to the application but don't include it in the layout. This looks like the way to go.
I'm working on dashboard editor in flex, an application that allow users to drag ui objects inside a canvas.i need a solution to save the canvas with the objects inside (with all properties and locations x & y) to allow users to save dashboards to database and to open them . I need a way to get the canvas insides without parsing each object inside the canvas. some build-in function to export a ui object into mxml string or something. I'm wondering if there is a way to do that.
Since I'm developing a multiplayer card game for Facebook using Flex as client side and Java SE as server side, I wanted to know how do I actually make the connection between Flex and Java? the server and client should be able to send each other data(cards,movement,room information etc...) across and I wonder what's the easiest way to do it without complicating it. where to read about it ? I know JAVA but I find JavaEE hard to understand.
I'm new to Flex/AS3. I've attached an example line chart below. I want to know if this type of graph can be created using the standard line-series chart available in Flex (Flash Builder 4.6), or whether there's something drawn below that is non-standard and would therefore require some rather involved customization. The key features are:
-Different line styles and colors (dashed, dot-dash, solid, thick, thin, opacity) -Placement of units (y-axis "seconds" and x-axis "Hz") -x-axis zoom/pan control bar below graph (move knobs in and out to set x-axis min and max plotted values) -Log x-axis scale, linear y-axis scale -Data Tip (or, some call it tool tip, not shown below) -SI units for x- and y-axis tick labels.
My guess is that everything should be pretty standard to accomplish using Adobe's built-in charting (with the possible exception of item 6, see below). Is that a good assumption?I'm particularly concerned about the x- and y-axis tick labels (item 6). For example, the x-axis tick marks as a number would be:1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000, 100000, 1000000, 10000000 but they need to be replaced with SI units, where k=1000, and M=1000000, so the corresponding marks would be (replacing the numbers above with the strings below)"1", "10", "100", "1k", "10k", "1M", "10M".The same goes for the y-axis, where p represents 1e-12, and n represents 1e-9.I can create an algorithm that accepts a number and outputs a string to do the SI unit conversion. But given that, is there a way to easily manage the tick mark labels to replace the default numbers with such strings?
I have text been displayed from an xml file been generated from server side. The tags that are been used in the server side text forum add tags for underline in the below forum
I have written an actionscript snippet to POST a XML file to the server side.
//code begin var secondsUTC:Number = new Date().time; var dataXML:XML = new XML(); dataXML= <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> ; <login> <time>{secondsUTC}</time> [Code] .....
When testing, the progress went well. When the loading process have completed. The server side didn't get any files.
I'm trying to write to a simple txt file using flash and php. After several failed attempts I decided to brake the code down to it's bare minimum and build up from there, unfortunately even that didn't work.Here's my php code.
PHP Code:
<?php
$myFile = "testFile.txt"; $fh = fopen($myFile, 'w') or die("can't open file"); $stringData = "Testing[code]....
the file it's writing to (testFile.txt) has it's access set to 777 as does the php file.I point my browser to the php file but nothing gets written to the text file. I know the server is allowing php (at least on some level) because my php mail is working perfectly.
