Flex :: Export A Flash Catalyst Component Into A Swc File?
Jun 17, 2011
I want to exported designed components from Flash Catalyst to IDEA.Because FXPL is a specific adobe format, i need it in a little bit more generic format like an swc.So how is the best way to get my component into an swc ? I found a lot of scripts / hacks to pack actionsscript / flex assets into an swc but i would like to have an "official" way.
I'm working on an AIR project using Flash Builder. There's a couple of component that I could see would be easy to generate using Flash Catalyst.
I can't see any way to export a Flex component/library (SWC) of some UI elements from Flash Catalyst.
All I can see is that I can export an entire project from there and import it as a full project in flex but I can't see any way to export individual components..
Flex: - Is it possible to export Chart/Graph/component with dataGrid data into xls file without using server side?
(Web Application)
I have gone through number of article but could not find any hind to do. As per few article it is possible to export data of dataGrid into xls by using as3xls-1.0.swc but not Chart.
I am looking to export data from dataGrid as well as Chart.
I've made a video in Flash Pro, and I want to be able to play it in Flash Catalyst. I'm using 5.5 of both versions, btw. I export the Flash Pro video to a .mov file and then use Media Encoder to make that a .flv file. I bring that file into FC and publish to web. However, when I put those 'deploy to web' files on my website, the video doesn't play. Everything else works except for the video. So I put a generic, short .flv file that I downloaded from the internet into my FC file.
I published it to my website again, and everything worked fine. The video played. So obviously the problem with my video must be in the encoding process. I read one article online that said when I export a .mov file for FC, I should make sure that I don't have 'Fast - Compressed Header' selected in the Streaming options. Well, I checked and I don't. It's just under regular 'Fast'. I've even tried converting my .mov file to a f4v file, and that doesn't work.
I don't do flash myself: in this company, flash is generally used just for design elements, so the designers build the flash and my job is just getting it onto the site. All fine so far, but now one of the designers wants to move to using Flash Catalyst.
1. Flash Catalyst outputs one .swf file containing the application. 2. External files (images, videos, audio files) may be referenced, but by default are embedded into the .swf. 3. The flex framework is stored in .swz files. These files are signed by Adobe and therefore flash considers them safe to store in a "flash cache" separate from the browser cache. These framework files may be reused on any other site, and therefore reduce download times. 4. If you don't have the .swz files, and the person viewing your site doesn't already have them cached, they can be downloaded from the Adobe site.
Can I have the .swz files stored anywhere on my server, or do they need to be in the same folder as the .swf? I assume they can be anywhere, but I'd have to tell Flash Catalyst where to look for them.
I'm working on dashboard editor in flex, an application that allow users to drag ui objects inside a canvas.i need a solution to save the canvas with the objects inside (with all properties and locations x & y) to allow users to save dashboards to database and to open them . I need a way to get the canvas insides without parsing each object inside the canvas. some build-in function to export a ui object into mxml string or something. I'm wondering if there is a way to do that.
Is there a way to export Table data to a MIME Resource(Flex3 component) from Web Dynpro?
I have a flex3 component(US heat Map) which accepts a arrayCollection (state and value pairs). I need to create a webdynpro wrapper for this to use in Visual Composer 7.2.
What I am trying to do is migrate the flex components I made for Visual Composer 7.0 (using a VCXL wrapper) to Visual Composer 7.2 using web Dynpro. I have managed to migrate components which require simple input data types like integer or string, but I am stuck at those which require complex structures like an array collection.
I've created a rectangle in catalyst and under the "properties" panel, all I can see is Corners 10 for the rectangle. Is there a way to individually define each corner similar to CSS. I can't see any source code view in catalyst to enable me to fine tune it for each of the 4 corners. How do I specify the roundedness of each corner separately?
Is it possible to dynamically load a flex component, compiled as a swf file into a .fla file. Originally, this flex component can be loaded as a standalone flex application with parameters to connect to the appropriate server. But now a customer of mine wants to integrate this flex component (originally inserted in a flex application) in a custom flash application, thus in .fla file using Adobe Flash CS4.
I've seen that it was possible to integrate a flash animation created with Adobe Flash CS4 in a flex application. But what I need to do is the opposite.
How do I export data in my datagrid to an Excel file in Flex? Can anyone provide some examples for that? I am browsing but couldn't find out a single example of that kind.Browsed a lot and found out how to convert datagrid data to csv format. Now How to convert that to excel? Is there a way to do that without using any server script ? Can't it be done in Flex alone?
I am very new to ActionScript. I have a .fla file which contains the AS2 code for the frames. What I need to do is that I have to export this code as a separate file. There may be a separate file(or class file) for each frame code. Is it possible to me do it automatically without losing animation interactivity and functionality? Or is there any other way?
When I try to export my application to native installer with using Export Build Release, it isn't importing my sqlite database files which are in my application directory. Is there a way that I can import those database files ?
Is it possible to export text from a text field, which has been created in Flash and export it into an external file such as a text file or Word document? The idea is that information will be collected by the user into a text field within the swf. Hopefully, this information can then be exported into an external file which will allow the user to work on and edit at a later stage. It needs to be a separate editable document. Is this possible? I'm using Flash 8.
I had created a simple slide show in Flash and published as a .swf file. The slide show contains few images and the animation takes about 45 seconds to run at 8 frames per second. When i imported it into Flash Catalyst, the animationa runs very fast, taking only about 15 seconds to get through the whole slide show. I re-adjusted the animation in Flash to make it run slower but when i imported the new version into flash catalyst, it runs at the same speed, --still very fast.Is there any way for me to control the speed of my animation and make it runs the same speed as I set up in Flash?
I have created a website inside of Flash Catalyst CS5 and it doesn't give me the option to make the entire site fit to browser window and resize with the window. I know this is something you can do in Flash so I tried to import the main.swf from Catalyst into Flash and added some as3 code to get it to run on the main stage. Everything worked fine, but when I tried to make the entire stage fit to window and resizable in the browser window by exporting with the 100% settings it just offset the main.swf to the left and didn't fit to the window at all.

From what I understand, Flash Catalyst is to be used with Flash Builder. Is it possible to create a button in Flash Catalyst that I can use in Flash Professional, the same way I would a regular button class, where I can change the label in Actionscript, or if I wanted to do that would I have to build each button separately, each one with a separate label?
I would like to know Adobe's Recommended system requirements for a PC running Flash Catalyst (not simply the minimum that are posted on this page: url...
Is there any way to "round trip" Android projects between Flash Catalyst and Flash Builder? I'm using the latest beta versions (Burrito and Panini). If not, will this be available with CS5.5 when it's released next month?
I need to export a Flash file I created as an animated GIF. Despite trying various settings under Publish, the animated GIF looks very low res or pixelated, yet the SWF file looks fine.
But the challenge is how should i import this icons in flash that too in vector format. I am following a process which is not really giving me a proper output. Process
1. Export the AI file in swf format
2. Convert the swf to fla using decompiler
3. open the fla to view the icons
Now the challenge is when I follow this process i get a large number of masked layers in flash. For one icon it shows around 80 layers...
I have flash as part of the CS3 suite but I never use it, don't know how. However I have a need to convert some flash files to something that can be uploaded to the web, ala YouTube. So naturally I opened a .flv file with Flash and simple went to File->Export hoping (but doubting) it would be that easy. Of course, that did not work. The result was a half second of blank white screen.
Is there a quick and simple way to open a Flash file and convert it/export it as .mov (or some other format for uploading to video sites that don't accept flash files)?

want to know if it is possible to create a vector basedfile (PDF) from a web based Flash application. The applicationwould be a 'Design it yourself' type deal, it would just be a fancytext generator. All this will be designed by the user using theflash application . What I want to know is once the user has finished designingtheir text, can this 'creation' then be exported as preferably aPDF, or Jpg, etc. once the user submits the design?
