View 2 RepliesI'm developping a mobile application in Flash builder. So in Flash Builder Burrito , I was using the Flex Hero SDK 4.5.0 but they currently realesed the Flex4.5.0.20967.
I downloaded the zip file [URL]
I extracted it into a map on my C: drive. Then I opened my flash builder burrito. Added him by (Window>Flash Builder>Installed Flex SDK's. I his add and added my location.
This went very well. I changed my code with the new commands.
Next I wanted to test on my android phone but now my problem: I can't make any apk files anymore.
For those of you that use Flash like I do, as a drawing tool, then you may be disappointed to find that Flash CS5 no longer exports your graphics as .ai files. Your only options are .swf, .fxg, .bmp, .jpg, .gif, .png.Often I use Flash and Illustrator together. I'll draw in Flash and export to Illustrator. I mainly use Illustrator when I need text on a curved line. Then I bring that text back in to Flash.
It's odd because one time I just typed in .ai into the filename and it did indeed create an .ai file. However, just now, I tried to do that again and it won't work for me. ALSO... I upgrade from Flash CS3 to CS5 ultimately skipping CS4. The problem is, CS5 only let's you save to legacy CS4. So my CS3 version can't open my CS4 or CS5 files.
I have this function within my flash program that allows a person to make notes, at the moment they notes are just saved from a dynamic textfield to variable and hover around in flash output space, now I really need to get it so that when they click 'save' it exports the text from flash and saves it onto the users computer. I really don't want to use fscommand... and I know it can be done with PHP but trying to find a suitable tutorial is harder than I thought... so I would wondering if anyone could recommend a good tutorial or has done it before and can give some tips?
View 1 RepliesI am very new to ActionScript. I have a .fla file which contains the AS2 code for the frames. What I need to do is that I have to export this code as a separate file. There may be a separate file(or class file) for each frame code. Is it possible to me do it automatically without losing animation interactivity and functionality? Or is there any other way?
View 1 RepliesIs it possible to export text from a text field, which has been created in Flash and export it into an external file such as a text file or Word document?The idea is that information will be collected by the user into a text field within the swf. Hopefully, this information can then be exported into an external file which will allow the user to work on and edit at a later stage. It needs to be a separate editable document. Is this possible? I'm using Flash 8.

I need to export a Flash file I created as an animated GIF. Despite trying various settings under Publish, the animated GIF looks very low res or pixelated, yet the SWF file looks fine.
View 4 RepliesBut the challenge is how should i import this icons in flash that too in vector format. I am following a process which is not really giving me a proper output. Process
1. Export the AI file in swf format
2. Convert the swf to fla using decompiler
3. open the fla to view the icons
Now the challenge is when I follow this process i get a large number of masked layers in flash. For one icon it shows around 80 layers...
After looking at all of the Flash software types, I am confused as to what to download and try. I simply want to export AVI files to FLV. I do not want to do anything else with flash at this time.
View 2 RepliesI have flash as part of the CS3 suite but I never use it, don't know how. However I have a need to convert some flash files to something that can be uploaded to the web, ala YouTube. So naturally I opened a .flv file with Flash and simple went to File->Export hoping (but doubting) it would be that easy. Of course, that did not work. The result was a half second of blank white screen.
Is there a quick and simple way to open a Flash file and convert it/export it as .mov (or some other format for uploading to video sites that don't accept flash files)?

View 4 Replieswant to know if it is possible to create a vector basedfile (PDF) from a web based Flash application. The applicationwould be a 'Design it yourself' type deal, it would just be a fancytext generator. All this will be designed by the user using theflash application . What I want to know is once the user has finished designingtheir text, can this 'creation' then be exported as preferably aPDF, or Jpg, etc. once the user submits the design?

View 3 RepliesI just recently finished the snowflake tutorial and made a very nice movie with some minor tweaks of my own into the coding, and I'm very new to flash (this being the first many experiences with it). I want to create a movie that I can make full screen without the task bar at the top (maybe in windows movie viewer or quicktime), but there is no option to play the movie, only to test. When I export the movie into an AVI files, nothing happens.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to export the button symbol from Flash and publish swc file for Flex.I have successfully export 3 buttons which are playBtn, stopBtn, pauseBtn from flash and add swc file to my flex actionscript files.my code is:
private var stopBt:stopBtn;
private var playBt:playBtn;
private var pauseBt:pauseBtn;
private var mutebt:muteBtn // no such datatype.....
error message....an internal build error has occurred, right click for more information.Since I add swc from flash in flex, I don't have to import these button...However, when I tried to create 1 more button (muteBtn) in flash and did the same thing again in flex, it gave me "an internal build error has occurred, right click for more information" error.When I created a var and tried to type :, there are no muteBtn datatype pop up.... I have spent 2 hours on this crazy crap and don't know WTF is going on.
I made an application in Flex 4. When I export a release build, it generates a whole bunch of files. (including the skins used, etc, etc.)How do I make those plentiful files except the container HTML file, get compiled into a single SWF file?E.g.My folder should only contain:
my_app.swf
my_app.html
But my_app.swf should still run like a normal Flex 4 app, only this time, all the files, images, skins, etc are inside that one SWF file.
I asked this earlier but maybe I didn't give enough information. I am working on a website where video quality is very important and the client is delivering me the video already compressed. I then want to import it to flash CS3 and export it as .flv for progressive download with the media playback component. I have done all of this successfully in a sense that it all works but the video quality is not good enough, it's good but the client says it;s a bit grainy. I used the highest setting in Flash, on2 vp6 at 700kbs.
My question is what is the best file format (.mov etc) and what settings should the client use, so I can create the highest quality .flv export from their .mov file? Second question, I used an 8 second buffer but now the client is saying they don't want it to buffer at all. What are the other options besides progressive download, I have never delved into this before?
am trying to export/publish a swf of a dress up game I made so I can put it in Dreamweaver and upload it to my site but I keep getting this error message:"Error Creating Flash Movie File: Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive. Also, check that the file name is not too long".I am also unable to test the movie, it gives me the same error message.
