ActionScript 3.0 :: Data Export And Import From Flash File
Jan 22, 2009
I am really new to php. I have an AS3 file which records user inputted data and stores them in variables. The only thing i know how to do is how to email those variables using .php. Well I want to be able to export the data to a csv file from the flash file and later want to import it back to the flash file.
I am making a flash survey using AS3. All of the input data is stored in variables. At the end of the variables i want to export all of the variables to a Excel file. Is that possible? If not than how can i export the data? I have never exported data in flash so i have no idea what to do
I`m using flash cs3 for my works , but i have one problem!when i use File=> Import=> Import to Library... or Import to Stage...the flash environment becomes terminated.I changed my flash version to CS4 and I have this problem again.
My supervisor is interested in showing certain data within a dynamic map and this data must be fed from an Excel file. I was thinking I may have to use some service to convert the XLS to a CSV file, but if there's a direct way to do it with AS3 I can skip that step. The Excel file will be updated regularly. Eventually, she wants this movie to allow her to modify the Excel file as well.
I have a flash file (banner ad) that uses some jpgs that I imported onto the stage. When I publish the file... It won't include the images. If the images are in the same folder as the swf.. it will work. However, just the SWF on its own will not display the images. Any ideas?
I want to know how to import data from an xml file, but I can't figure it out. The tutorials I take aren't clear enough and I just need someone to talk to.If there is someone out there that knows how to read data from an xml file for AS2.0 and is willing to help me, please send me a message at:
How do I set up my drag and drop questionaire to export to a XML file?
I have a 70 seperate SWF files that pose a question and contain a drag and drop rank order response of 1,2,3,4.How do I set up a XML file that receives the responses.I don't understand how to do the Actionscript and get my responses to connect to the XML.
I am going to be writing an app in flash builder and I want the ability to import CSV data into an SQLite database in Adobe Air/flashbuilder.
I have never done anything like this and am not totally sure where to start.I will want to do some manipulation of the data before I reinsert it. So really I need to know what steps (classes and functions) I need to use to parse the data from a CSV file into an array that can be manipulated in actionscript?
I am trying to import data from an xml file and use it in a quiz program. currently the quiz program uses an array like so:\
wordList = ("John,Susan,Mary,Margaret,James,Sam,Ursula,Nelly, Peter").split(","); My xml file is in the form: <list><word>John</word><word>Susan</word><word>Margaret</word><word>James</word><word>Sam</word><word>Ursula</word><word>Nelly</word><word>Peter</word>
I have the Following requirement and I do not even know where to begin.I have created a map of a Country and on the map are several towns and cities, obviously easy enough so far.So, for example, say the XML data provides information of ten different pieces of information, one might be say Lightning Strikes.
I want to be able to create a dynamic map that adds a Red dot beside the City, that represents a record of the lightning strike. Or ,if required a larger dot might represent 10 lightning strikes if it is a very regular occurance. The main objective is to provide an up to date visual representation of which location is more active.I don't mind experimenting or following a link or guide to work it out,
Can you tell me how to import form a single xml file, data to multiply text fields. if you can, tell me what is the AS code that imports the xml file in flash, than how to link the different txt fields to the difarent modules from the xml and what is the xml structure.
never ran into this before but I have an fla that I need to convert to an f4v, correct me if I'm wrong but do I export the fla as Quicktime then create a new fla and import the mov and export as an flv?
Can I import binary in Flash CS5 and export swf, without AS code likes "Embed" ?I know I can use AS code, likes "[Embed]" metadata to embed binary in swf. But , how can I do that in Flash CS5 ?
I'm creating a Flash game that will be placed in a Sharepoint page. Is there a way to export data from the Flash game (ex: the user's score) to a different Sharepoint page? I'd like to display the high scores of different players in Sharepoint. Note: I'm using ActionScript 2.0 So here is the sequence of events... Player completes Flash game embedded in a Sharepoint page Flash exports player's score to Sharepoint database Second Sharepoint page displays top ten player scores from database.
I have an array collection of strings and integers (which I have displayed in a data grid) and I am wondering if it is possible to export the array collection into an html table? or even a text file for the user to download
I found some pages that had an export to .xls files but I want to stray away from that for now.
Do flash 3D display engines such as Papervision allow data to be exported from the swf to a php back end and vice versa (PHP into model)? Does Unity allow for this?
If I was to build a simple 'change the colour of the model' application with a UI in a 3D package such as Papervision, could I then export the user choices to php or perhaps a javascript intermediary?
Summary: I don't quite understand how the import/export URLs for symbols in a runtime library work. I can't figure out how I can set them so that the runtime library will be properly loaded and accessible for other swfs to import from, if I want it to work both in a local environment (on my harddrive), and from a remote environment (on a web page).
Relative URLs seem to work great for the hard-drive case, but fail for the web page. Is there a magic way to set the relative URL to work from the web too? And/or, is there some way of manually loading up the RSL at runtime and making the importing swfs import from that loaded copy, rather than having Flash doing it behind the scenes based on the import URL set in the symbol? Following is a longish description of what I'm trying to do, and why... I'm trying to figure out if we can use RSLs to contain common UI controls for our next project. I'm running into an organizational issue that I can't quite figure out - how to get the RSLs to work in both a local development/debugging environment, and on a production web environment, with the same exporting/importing URLs.
Here's what my setup would look like. Say I have a main application main.swf, an RSL lib.swf, and a UI module dialog.swf. Main.swf loads or embeds dialog.swf. lib.swf exports some symbols that dialog.swf imports. On a local development environment, these swfs are found in folders like so:
I am very new to ActionScript. I have a .fla file which contains the AS2 code for the frames. What I need to do is that I have to export this code as a separate file. There may be a separate file(or class file) for each frame code. Is it possible to me do it automatically without losing animation interactivity and functionality? Or is there any other way?
Is it possible to export text from a text field, which has been created in Flash and export it into an external file such as a text file or Word document? The idea is that information will be collected by the user into a text field within the swf. Hopefully, this information can then be exported into an external file which will allow the user to work on and edit at a later stage. It needs to be a separate editable document. Is this possible? I'm using Flash 8.
The game will be on a school VLE (virtual learning environment) like 'Moodle'. Can you export to email? Spreasheet? Or can it only be done with php? Do not want to be spending weeks on it!
We have a system that allows a user to upload any image, which we store on the server. Of course, it is simple to load an image (that you know the path to) using loadMovie, but I also want to load certain pieces of meta data about the image that is precalculated and stored on the server; we may one day want to retrieve things completely unrelated to the image as well, so consider the non-image data to be arbitrary. So, that said, is there a way to simply return the image as a variable (urlencoded and returned in a loadVars request, perhaps) and then load that data into a movie clip?
Bonus Lightning Round Question: Is there a way to check the output of a PHP script which processes uploads when the request is sent via FileReference.upload(url:String)? Should I load/escape the binary data and then send it using a loadVars() request if I want to see the output?
I am using Flash CS5 to generate an array of the notes in a midi file. Basically I store data such as time of the note, note duration, pitch, scale, volume, etc.I have 2 questions:How can I export all these data in order to use it in after effects (as a txt file? other formats?);How do I use the exported file in After Effects later on: How do I tell After Effects when to start playing a note in a specific time? how do I associate note height with a specific feature (lets say - square width) - and so on.I DO know some basic coding in after effect (how to associate elements inside After - such as volume and opacity) but I need to understand how to deal with an exported file (and in which format to generate it).
My friend and I were looking into trying to have flash (cs3 or 4 probably) communicate somehow with Excel*, I know this is a general question, but is that in any way possible?
I wrote an app using adobe flash builder that makes an http data service call to a website.
When I build and launch the app it loads in my browser (the address in the broswer is C:Userspath omyapp.html) and works perfectly. However, when I upload the app to my website or even launch it from outside the project build directory, the HTTP service call fails with the popup
Of course I googled this error and realized it may have something to do with a 'crossdomain.xml' in my web root directory. I tried this and it continued to fail. Below was my crossite domain file
