Can I import binary in Flash CS5 and export swf, without AS code likes "Embed" ?I know I can use AS code,likes "[Embed]" metadata to embed binary in swf. But , how can I do that in Flash CS5 ?

Of course, it is simple to load an image (that you know the path to) using loadMovie, but I also want to load certain pieces of meta data about the image that is precalculated and stored on the server; we may one day want to retrieve things completely unrelated to the image as well, so consider the non-image data to be arbitrary.So, that said, is there a way to simply return the image as a variable (urlencoded and returned in a loadVars request, perhaps) and then load that data into a movie clip?
Bonus Lightning Round Question: Is there a way to check the output of a PHP script which processes uploads when the request is sent via FileReference.upload(url:String)? Should I load/escape the binary data and then send it using a loadVars() request if I want to see the output?

I am really new to php. I have an AS3 file which records user inputted data and stores them in variables. The only thing i know how to do is how to email those variables using .php. Well I want to be able to export the data to a csv file from the flash file and later want to import it back to the flash file.

View 1 RepliesSummary: I don't quite understand how the import/export URLs for symbols in a runtime library work. I can't figure out how I can set them so that the runtime library will be properly loaded and accessible for other swfs to import from, if I want it to work both in a local environment (on my harddrive), and from a remote environment (on a web page).
Relative URLs seem to work great for the hard-drive case, but fail for the web page. Is there a magic way to set the relative URL to work from the web too? And/or, is there some way of manually loading up the RSL at runtime and making the importing swfs import from that loaded copy, rather than having Flash doing it behind the scenes based on the import URL set in the symbol? Following is a longish description of what I'm trying to do, and why... I'm trying to figure out if we can use RSLs to contain common UI controls for our next project. I'm running into an organizational issue that I can't quite figure out - how to get the RSLs to work in both a local development/debugging environment, and on a production web environment, with the same exporting/importing URLs.
Here's what my setup would look like. Say I have a main application main.swf, an RSL lib.swf, and a UI module dialog.swf. Main.swf loads or embeds dialog.swf. lib.swf exports some symbols that dialog.swf imports. On a local development environment, these swfs are found in folders like so:

View 4 RepliesI thought it was a problem with my Try / Catch statement, but in reality my issue is really just trying to do a check in an If / Else statement to see if my Flash player can obtain any data from a flashVar. If flashVar VID = great, Else read from an XML file.Basically this is what I need to have happen:
Check to see if there are flashVar values
If so then load the other Class files and DO NOT get the XML file
If not then run the code in the Catch statement and load the XML file

I am trying to embed a facebook video on my website but it gives "Video Unavailable. this video has either has been removed from facebook or is not visible".video is public to everyone, is not deleted and I can watch it on facebook via other browsers that I am not logged in. i have to embed my flash file in my html using satay code since my html has to be xhtml compliant. my problem is when i try to embed 2 different movies on the same page, the first movie loads in both containers. does anyone know how to fix this or if there is another xhtml compliant way to embedding flash?

View 3 RepliesWe run surf camera streams on our website, which are played via the latest version (5.4) of JWPlayer on our pages. Recently we switched over to another streaming service, and H.264 streams, as we are planning on streaming out to iOS devices in the very near future, however this introduced a bug on the client side where users to not receive vision (they only see a black screen where the video is normally seen).
We have discovered that disabling the Hardware Acceleration (which was introduced in Flash Player 10.1+) fixes this issue, and given the spectrum of environments where this issues is happening I would wager that this is related to specific graphics cards, their drivers, and how they handle the vision decoding etc.
The documentation we have found relating to disabling Hardware Acceleration only indicate that this can be done via the wmode param, i.e. by setting it to wmode="opaque" or wmode="transparent" however this doesn't seem to work in all cases (for the most part the issue is no longer there) however we are still seeing 30% of our users getting this issue.
We can ask the users to disable hardware acceleration themselves, and we have provided details on how to do this, however to me that is only a temporary fix, and I was curious as to whether or not there was something more permanent we can put in until Adobe fix up this issue?
I created a short animation using a series of photos stop-motion style, only about 18 frames long (as part of a larger project) Whenever i try to export it into SWF (Either CTRL+ENTER or the FILE>EXPORT method) the time it takes is super-fast, but no file is created. When the export was done with a previous successful export, it simply dissapeared

I am unable to export any swiff files from CS5 Flash Pro that contain TLF text. If I apply one text box with TLF text on the stage, with no script on the timeline and nothing in the library, I receive the following compiler error:
MainTimeline, Line 39 1137: Incorrect number of arguments. Expected no more than 1.
MainTimeline, Line 42 1137: Incorrect number of arguments. Expected no more than 7.
I do a lot of heavy actionscript coding, and rarely have anything on the timeline or stage in Flash, but this is a pretty big error for a new feature like the TLF engine. I think there is an issue with files missing, or flash not having the correct path to the classes used by the TLF text, but that is only a guess.
All I can get out of the Adobe documentation is that there is a SWC file that is supposed to be remotely accessed, downloaded, or embedded into the SWF on export.
I have been completely unable to use this feature of Flash since I purchased CS5. Additionally, when I tried to contact Adobe directly by phone, they referred me to these forums.
