I'm using the SpinnerList component in a flex mobile application, the spinner turn too fast for my need, is it any way to reduces its speed.
There is many answer regarding the speed of the mouse wheel but no answer concerning the spinner itself.
Would embedding images in mobile Air applications speed up the process of drawing the UI that uses images? How does one properly embed the images?

How do you scroll an editable TextArea (Flex Hero) on a touch device? I am referring to the situation where the text does not fit in the TextArea height.When I try to tap and drag the text gets selected and not scrolled... Am I missing a something here? I am using verticalScrollPolicy = on (also tried auto).I am testing the code in the Blackberry Playbook simulator (my targeted device for my app).

Things go weird when i tried position a button in titleContent of ActionBar. Set both the "left" and "horizontalCenter" can't move my button.Code as below:

View 1 RepliesIŽam trying to create my own custom list component in a Flex mobile Project which fires an Event when the user touches a listitem and holds the finger down for a given time.Some kind of "longTouch"-Event like its implemented on native android listitems to edit the entry for example.
I tried to listen for the MOUSE_DOWN Event to start a timer and dispatch an event when the timer finished. But this approach failed because i cant get the listitem that was pressed by the user because the List component updates the "selectedItem"-property only after the user lifts his finger from the list.
I have a DataGrid component that I would like to update every 5 seconds. As rows are being added to this DataGrid I noticed that every update causes it to reset the scroll bar position to the top. How can I manage to keep the scroll bar at its previous position?

I have configured the AMFChannel with a polling interval 0, but I have seen when the consumer subscribes to the destination in Flex, the time request can be of up to 3 seconds.

I have a flex mobile application that I am working on that I am having issues with selecting an image from roll/taking a picture. My application is not tabbed, however one part of it contains a Tabbed View Navigator with tabs across the bottom. Within one of those tabs, I have the ability to upload an image to a webservice that I have created. However, when I select an image or take the picture, it pops back out to the initial splash screen and the application restarts. If I use the component standalone (outside of the tabbed view navigator) it selects the image and uploads without any problem.

im completely lost on how to do a simple multiline label. The docs say that labels are best used as single lined elements, but that alludes to it being able to do multiline if necessary. Anyone have any clarification on the subject?

At first, i was just going to use the .mxml applications from my other project file in flex, but they're for desktop apps and running on Flex 3.6, and Mobile apps can't be built on less than 4.5 :P
so, i figured i'd export the first project to a .swf, and load it in my mobile application, but nothing i do will get it to show up. anyone know a solution?

How can I reduce the space between my linkButtons and inside each linkButton ?
I've set padding to 0 but it was already 0.I've been able to only change the height of the LinkButtons, but I cannot do that with the width because the text is dynamic.[code]...

I am using Flex Builder 3. Even for a small project, my exported .air file's size is around 400k. Is it because of all the Flex libraries being compiled into my application. I wanted to know if it is possible to remove the libraries that I don't use.

I have a simple application that consists of a HSlider and a list that contains a item renderer with a border container managed by a tile layout. For some reason when moving the slider to reduce the size of the item renderer it only reduce to a certain size and wont reduce any further. I use the same principle in flex 3 (with mx components it works fine).

We believe we spent a lot of time into asset optimization and most of the work is remaining on the code.By analyzing our link-report, our guess is that the heavy part of the code is comming from Flex .mxml nested components. We don't think there is much to do on our pure AS classes.Is there any analysis or coding best practice in order to reduce the impact of the code on the swf filesize ?

View 2 RepliesI have created a spark ButtonBar which is dynamically populated with XML and skinned to look like a standard TabBar. When I used the TabBar in Flex 3, the width of each Tab would shrink or grow to the size of the Label, plus a little padding either side. When using the spark ButtonBar in Flex 4, I find that no matter how short the label (even an empty string), the Buttons will be at least 70 pixels wide, and will expand for longer labels. I have tried setting the minWidth to 20 in various places, including on my ButtonBarButton skin, but this has no effect.

I have a spark List with an item renderer and a tile layout. If I scroll by clicking with the mouse on the scroll bar and trying to scroll with the mouse wheel after that, there is a problem: The interval of the scrolling is oversized, instead of scrolling one item down (or up) the List scrolls 4 items down (or up).
