Flex :: 4 - HSlider And TileLayout - Reduce To A Certain Size
Sep 13, 2010
I have a simple application that consists of a HSlider and a list that contains a item renderer with a border container managed by a tile layout. For some reason when moving the slider to reduce the size of the item renderer it only reduce to a certain size and wont reduce any further. I use the same principle in flex 3 (with mx components it works fine).
I am using Flex Builder 3. Even for a small project, my exported .air file's size is around 400k. Is it because of all the Flex libraries being compiled into my application. I wanted to know if it is possible to remove the libraries that I don't use.
What are libraries like "qtp.swc" and the "automation" libraries?
how can i reduce the swf size? it's 9MB and it takes a bit to load online. is there any solution to reduce its size so it can load faster? the pictures and loaded externally so they're not embeded in the file. There are some inside the movie but they were already reduced from their original size.
i decompiled a swf & convert it to fla .after geting swf ,again i decompiled it,results in increase in file size of fla.is there any way to reduce the file size of fla...as PC hangs when i save fla.
I am using Flash CS3. Now i did some image with mc(Movieclip) animation. Its come near 150kb. But i dont need this like file size. I want less then 75kb.also i did publish settings and reduce the jpeg quality near 40. But its come near 106kb...
I've uploaded an AIR-built .ipa file to Apple. From Apple: "The app binary listed below was 8 MB when you submitted it, but will be 20 MB once processed for the App Store"
So I'm trying to trim it. I've gotten rid of all unused .as classes and all unused assets. Does anyone have any clever way of reducing file size further? One way I thought of is this[code]...
reduce the file of flash file as well as swf file to upload.tell me a simple way to reduce the swf file size. So that i can easily upload the file.how to externally load the swf file in flash.
I am trying to reduce the size of my swf, and I see that I am using a movieclip on each frame on the Timeline, which has to be adding considerable size to my file, since I have placed the movieclip(animation) on every frame. How could I do this more efficiently and still acchieve animation between each frame? I have included a ripped version of the fla. , since the attachment limit here is pretty low. In the file the video - files and the picture files have been removed, but the rotate... mc's(animation) are placed in the interanim Layer and the Menustate Layer, on each frame.
So I have this .fla file that a freelancer made for me before. I noticed that the mp3's he imported have really low size of about 800kb only for each sound. When I sent this songs to him, they were in WMA files and have 3MB size each. I noticed that the file location says "program files/total video converter/...", so I assume that he used the Total Video Converter software to convert the WMA to MP3. But how was he able to make the size to only 800KB? Because I tried other converters and the size doesn't change significantly. Lastly, I noticed that it says in the properties "50.0% of original" and the use imported mp3 quality is checked! Also, since the above situation has a WMA file. How about if I already have the mp3 file? How can I reduce the size?
I am importing layers from my Photoshop file to Flash to create a Flash Banner ad using CS5. My Banner size is set-up in PS as 160x600 72DPI. Are there any tricks to getting my file size down without losing anymore resolution when importing to the flash Stage?
I have a button and a movie clip. By pressing a button and hold it, the movie clip will keep non reducing or increasing its size until the button is released.
I have DataGroup with TileLayout. How to make datagroup resize accordingly to number of elements in datagroup? For example 1 have 1 row with 4 elements. Each element is 20 pixels tall. So I want my datagroup to be 20 pixels tall as well. If I have 7 elements which will be 2 rows I want my datagroup to be 40 pixels tall and so on.Right now for datagroup with 1 row is about 100px tall.
How do I make a vector image smaller in file size than a jpg image? This sounds perhaps strange since vector in general is expected to be smaller in file size then pixel. But take this image for example: I can get this to about 8 kb if I were to use 'save for web' in photoshop (jpg / low compression). But then I thought I perhaps could get it even smaller by vectorizing it. But that resulted in an image of about 145 kb. Is vector not always better than pixel when it comes to file size?
how to reduce the file size of JPEGs without compromising the quality. I have a flash ad that has3 screens with photos, but clients needs the .swf file to be under20K. I can only get it down to 28K.I've done the following: * cropped photo down to actual size* used "Save for Web" function in Photoshop
In an effort to reduce the size of my flash site I reduced every single one of the swf movies (17 in total) that it contains. Each minor swf was cut back with about 25%. When publishing the main swf (the actual site) the file size is still 1 mb?
but since there is no name property on the BitmapImage object, I get errors.I guess I need to put each BitmapImage in an Object and also put in a string as a property of the object, but I can't figure out how to do this. This is my best guess, but then I don't know how to specify the property name for the BitmapImage:
I'm experiencing a very strange behavior with a spark list with TileLayout placed inside a scroller. Basically, I want to have a title area above my list that scrolls away when the user scrolls down the list. To do this I put the title and the list inside a Group and wrapped the group inside a scroller with width and height = 100%. I also set the verticalScrollPolicy to off on the list to make sure everything scrolls together.
The problem is that if the list has the default VerticalLayout everything works fine but if you assign a TileLayout to the same list it only partially renders the items (about 30 items when testing on iPhone 4).
Here's the fully functioning code. Try it like this first, then try removing the <s:layout> part to confirm that it works well with VerticalLayout:
When it comes to imported vector graphics are there any methods to decrease the swf's file size as much as possible? So far I have:
- imported an illustrator ai file (strokes 'expanded' in illustrator and unneeded swatches/ brushes etc. deleted and with no raster images embedded) - exported the file in illustrator as swf and imported that swf into flash - imported ai file and breaking it down to flash shapes - optimized those shapes as much as possible
I rather use vector as much as possible. For a banner for examle, I've imported vector images of trees. I couldn't get it below 40 kb so I exported all illustrator files to png files which helped. Can detailed vector images be optimized just as much? Or is it better to use bitmap files when it comes to more detailed graphics? Does it matter if it is a vector images made in flash or a imported vector file even if both have the same number of paths?
Does compiling a project through Ant reduce the size of the finished swf?If not, I've heard of something that helps the classes to not "learn" what another class already knows, (sort of), and thereby reducing the filesize by a big chunk...
I'm implementing an image gallery which presents assets as equally sized boxes that are forming a grid. I thought that I could easily achieve that by using the spark.layouts.TileLayout but unfortunately I have some additional requirements that I'm unable to implement with it.The general principal should to be to present as many boxes as possible within given space. The entire layout of the application is liquid and depends on the user's screen resolution.[code]I don't know the RequestedColumnCount or RequestedRowCount in advance as they depend on the available space, so the above code layouts all elements from left-to-right and then from top-to-bottom - which is as close as you can get from what I really want to achieve. This list of boxes should be cable of rendering fake paging. In reality it means that if the last visible row does not entirely fit the available space it should be moved to the next page.
To give you an example let's imagine that we have a list of 10 images. Each one is 10x10 px but my screen resolution only allows me to fit a grid 35x35 px. This means that one page is only capable of presenting 9 images in form of a 3x3 grid (as 5 px is not enough to present a full image). The 10th image should be then transferred to the second page. This is obviously not happening automatically with the code that I've pasted above as the TileLayout allows for displaying partially visible rows (in a form of a vertically scrolled list). I was wondering how I could achieve the behavior described above. If the above description does not sound logical please let me know so that I can adapt it (or include more details).
I am working on a Flex mobile project and am using a TileLayout to layout a bunch of groups. The problem is, if any text in one of the groups spans several lines, ALL tiles get resized to the same height. I need the tile width to be the same for all tiles, but I want the tile height to be the tallest only on each row.
I'm using the Flash CS4 IDE, and the first page of my site takes a lot longer to load than I want it to. So I wanted to go through the varied images / symbols / movie clips / sounds and so on to see where all the memory is being chewed up. When I go into my library, however, I can see the Name, LInkage, usecound and Type of my elements, but no mention of file size and I can't seem to find any right click menu that lets me add file size to the list of details being displayed. Is there a way to make it show file size? Or some workaround? And are there any best practices to reduce file size aside from using symbols for anything that's used more than once and reducing image and sound quality?
I am new to Flash CS5 and I have created a slide show. I am trying to reduce the .swf file size for faster loading. I have been trying to adjust the size using the jpeg quality slider, but it doesn't seem to function whether I set it to 0 or 100 or anywhere in between. Publishing always generates the same size swf file.
I'm using a hslider to select a range of values. However, I only have 5 values. The problem I'm having is that the dragging of a thumb does not look too good and the values of the thumbs are displayed in labels, beside the slider...I was then thinking about how to improve the look of the dragging and the slider.I came up with this: having an image that would behave like a slider. For example, something like this: a background image (sorry for the "drawing")
| 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
With 2 thumbs (min and max values) that would stay in the middle of each box.
