OK, from what I know actionscript in Flex runs asynchronously. I need the ability to run a method in a loop synchronously. Consider this code:
public class CustomerContainer extends VBox
{
public function CustomerContainer ()
{
[Code]....
This is not my exact situation as it is a bit more complicated to explain here. There is an abstract class and several custom view objects derived from it. Some of the views are dependent on others being completed first but I cannot seem to order them in the correct order. TIMERS are not an option. Probably not explaining this correctly.
I have a several Grails services that are invoked from Flex code using Spring BlazeDS integration. I wanted to add some general debug logging using the groovy metaClass. I have the following in a bootstrap class:
I'm totally new to Adobe Flex Builder 3. I've been assigned a fully functional project but when I want to add the simplest function to any class, I always got the same error : Call to a possibly undefined method through a reference with static type
For example, in some random class there is a function defined like this : public function GetID() : String { return m_strID; } If I try to define a new one like below : public function GetIDFoo() :String { return m_strID; }
And then I try to call both of them like this: trace ("This line is ok : " + oPhysicalScreen.GetID()); trace ("This line gives me an error : " + oPhysicalScreen.GetIDFoo()); [Code] .....
getUser was already in UserService.java. I just created getUser2 and it's identical to getUser. When I try to call getUser2, i get the "Cannot invoke method" error. question: Do I need to specify getUser2 in some other file? like in some configuration file? if so, which one and how do I do it.
I have an alchemy compiled swc which contains methods to perform certain key algorithms. These methods should only return values only if user is authorized(bought license from online service) for security purpose. So I am planning to add another SWC on top of this, which have all the licensing code stuff. But when I import the Alchemy generated swc inside my custom swc, all the methods of alchemy are exposed.
Using the web services panel, I've connected to a web service, but all the method calls will only show the param structures/types - not the result structures/types. To the best of my knowledge, I'm sending the right parameters, in the right structure, but always I get an empty response.The web services panel:
Debugger results (with breakpoint placed just after a response is received):
overriding clone() while creating custom events?I read in the Flex cookbook that we need just in case we want to redispatch this event. Does this exactly means that when we want event to be bubbled up the display hierarchy , at that time our custom cloned event should be dispatched and not the Event object.
second - whats the need of metadata tag - [Event(name="modelEvent", type="com.abc.data.model.ModelEvent")] public class LoginModel extends EventDispatcher I understand we need to extend EventDispatcher in case we want to dispatch evnet from class.. but In what cases i would need to specify the MetaData TAg
Third is.. If i write -- "dynamic customEventClass extends Event".. Is there any use of Dynamic i can make?
I have a quite different problem with resizing. I have a Flexbook component which uses the middle part of screen (center) with a html header menu and footer. The problem: The scaling works perfectly when we run in the local machine ( Flexbuilder). But when we deploy it to the server its like scaling never existed.. The requirement: when user maximizes the window or minimizes it, the Flexbook should be resized to fit the screen.
I have this button: <s:Button includeIn="MeniuPrincipal" label="Descarcare Date" click="downloadLmData(event)"/> And this click event handler: protected function downloadLmData(event:MouseEvent):void { downloadData('competenta', 'competente'); downloadData('localitate', 'localitati'); }
The downloadData function looks like this: private function downloadData(item:String, items:String):void { try { var colVar:String = 'col' + cappitalize(items); this.status = "Descarcare date in curs..."; this[colVar] = null; [Code].....
The problem is, all calls are ignored, except for the first one. Is there any "queuing" mechanism which would allow all calls to be made?
[code]Is this function only called when i have a itemRenderer or i can override this method in any other page or component to get the data of previous ones.
I have a greyscale image and I want to scan the pixels out of the Image and this is what I get : var i:int; var j:int; for (i = 0; i < img.contentWidth ; i++) { for(j = 0; j < img.contentHeight; j++){ pixeldaten.addItem({x:i,y:j,pixel:bmd.getPixel(i,j)}); }} But the table doesn't look like RGB Values . (R , B , and G must be the same).
I followed the tutorial on isometric transformations [URL], which I had no issue understanding. However, I thought I would explore putting that tutorial into multiple files / external classes as a bit of an exercise. Now I am just getting an error stating that "Calls to a possibly undefined method drawIsoRefBars". I've messed about for 2 days now, but just can't seem to nail the problem. where I'm going wrong in the following code? The intention is to create a drawingBoard sprite to plot/draw iso reference lines onto.
Can I implement the "load" method in FileReference in other way? My client use FP 9 and this method is implemented in FP 10. I am using BlazeDS + Spring and I want to upload images.
I need it in FlexUnit to test private methods. Is there any possibility to do this via reflection by using describeType or maybe flexUnit has some build in facility? I dislike artificial limitation that i cannot test private functions, it greatly reduces flexibility. Yes it is good design for me to test private functions, so please do not advise me to refactor my code. I do not want to break the encapsulation for the sake of unit testing.
My data is of mixed types like String, Array Collection, Boolean. I have to populate the data into appropriate UI component - for example Boolean to check box, Array to List. So we have created a factory class which will return 3 different type of component based on the input argument.
MultiLineCheckBox which extends mx.controls.CheckBox and few methods are overridden to bring the multiple line label. [URL]. It works perfect.Am using the MultiLineCheckBox in the entire application wherever I want check Box. Now I went into a scenario where I want check Box instead of MultiLineCheckBox. How to rewrite my CCheckBox to handle MultiLineCheckBox and also default CheckBox? Each of the CCheckBox class has lot of methods init.
I have hit a brick wall after trying almost every example I have come accross.In a nutshell I have a Flex parent which is embedding a Flash SWF file which has a Method which needs to be accessed from Flex.[code]I have tried strong typing the SWFLoader as a MovieClip to gain control of it but have had no luck.[code]Essentially all I need to do is reset/reload the Flash SWF when the mx:State changes.
I am new to flex and am using flex builder 3 , many a times code assist shows a lot of function but i am not sure what these functions do. How can i configure flex builder so that it also shows descriptions of the methods like the one we get in java.
I'm tryng to make a public static method call another method, but Flash throws error 1180, sayng that the method called by the static method is undefined.
i have a fortran method which creates random numbers. i want to convert this method to a flash method . I want to get numbers from this method and use them in the delay method of flash.
the fortran method is the folowing
real znew1 , zold1 ,a,m,z1,p,TIME1 a= 16807. m=2147483647 B=2
I have a class called Animal that has a method foo() and I call it out within the Animal class.
Code: protected function foo():void { trace("Animal"); }
I also have a class called Cat that extends Animal and overrides the method foo()
Code: override protected function foo():void { trace("Cat"); }
However when calling the function foo() from the superclass it traces out Animal not Cat (using a Cat object).How can I make superclass call out methods in the subclass?
I'm in the process of making a game (a shmup) and I've started to question the accuracy of the timers in ActionScript. Sure, they're accurate enough when you want to time things on the order of a few seconds or deciseconds, but it seems to perform pretty poorly when you get to finer ranges. This makes it pretty tough to do things like have a spaceship firing a hundred lasers per second.
In the following sample, I tested how long (on average) the intervals were between 1000 timer ticks intended for 30ms. Time and time again, the results are ~35-36ms. Decreasing the time, I found the floor on the timer delay to be ~16-17ms. This gives me a max fps of ~60, which is great visually but also means I can't possibly fire more than 60 lasers per second :-(. I ran this test a few times at 100 and 1000 loops, but for both the 30ms test and the 1ms test the results didn't change. I print to a textField at the end because using trace() and launching the swf in debug mode seems to negatively affect the test. So what I'm wondering is:
Is this test a decent measure of the Timer class's performance, or are my results questionable? Will these results change dramatically on other machines? I understand this is dependent on the getTimer() method's accuracy, but the discussions I find on this topic usually center around getTimer()'s accuracy on larger intervals.
While this is similar to another post, that post (does not indicate how to perform this (if it can be done) without instantiating an object. Also, without success I have tried multiple variations on the theme of:
I have used Reflection in both C# and Java. BTW, the code that I am attempting to get to work in Flex is mirrored in both those languages and works as expected.
Non-functioning Flex Code: private function ipMethodTester( ipMethodName:String, shouldPass:Array, shouldFail:Array):void {
