Jan 4, 2010I have written a custom component for drawing a circle in Flex. But When I try to write a click event or mouseDown event for that component, it doesn't work.[code]...
The "Hello" Alert is displayed only at a particular point and guess is, at the point, (175,150) the x, y co-ordinates of the circle. But shouldn't it be displayed wherever I click on the MyCircle component?? how to enable it in that way?
Also the mouseDown function doesn't work for MyCircle,but if have the event for the VBox, the Alerts are displayed.

Sep 8, 2010I am developing a Flex + AIR application. While debugging using Flash Builder sometimes I get runtime errors dialog with 'continue' & 'dismiss all' buttons. But when I release a build(.air) & run the application after installing. Then I don't get the same dialog in the release build. I need to track these types of runtime errors for that I am trying to write them to a file as logs. I tried using try catch & writing to file in catch block, but I am not able to get any wayout for unhandled exceptions or runtime errors

Oct 14, 2010I have a Flex application with a couple of DataGrids with data. I'd like to save the data to a file so that the user can keep working with them in Excel, OpenOffice or Numbers.
I'm currently writing a csv file straight off, which opens well in OpenOffice or Numbers, but not in Excel. The problem is with the Swedish characters, which turn up as other characters when opening in Excel. Converting (in Notepad++) the csv-file to ANSI encoding makes the show up correctly in Excel.
Is there any way to write ANSI-encoded files straight from Flex?
Any other options for writing a file that can be opened in Excel and OpenOffice?

Apr 5, 2011I am new to flex framework.I have created an application using flex framework 4.1 which is having various components that are shown to the end user in the form of a popup window using <mx:TitleWindow>.This titlewindow is closed either on the click of the close button (displayed in it's titlebar) or by pressing the "escape key" on the keyboard.I coded a functionality wherein I close the current TitleWindow whenever an 'escape' button is pressed.Here is what I did.On the keydown event of TitleWindow I called this function.[code]I had to repeat this code for every TitleWindow that I have used in the project.How can I write the above functionality only once and reuse it amongst various TitleWindow and other components so that the code for the same is not repeated across various components? While trying to write to the socket, i am getting this java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect. Funny thing is that the socket in Flex doesn't seem to dispatch any events, is it normal for that to happen?
