I'm using the YouTube API in my flex app to play videos and it works fine running on my computer and android, but I'm getting an issue when I try to use it on iOS, I just get a black screen!
What can be the cause of the YouTube player not working (playing, buffering, firing api events) if I don't continuously move the cursor over the player?
I'm trying to use the Youtube Chromeless Player (the new AS3 version) in a Flex 4-based project. I'm using the examples provided by Google, but I'm not having any luck. The player loads, but it can't be interacted with. I'm receiving repeated security errors just from mousing over the player:
[Code]....
I've been at this for a few hours now, and haven't had any success. I also can't seem to find any working examples online. Is this new player just not compatible with Flex 4?
I have a mobile YouTube API-centric project nearly done. The last view is a component that is a player, naturally, and Flash is not diggin' the security issues at all. Violations ..... And I am passing my developer key in every call too! So what is the deal with simply loading a video into chromeless player on Android that needs my security attention?
Is there any way to embed YouTube video/video player into Android Flex AIR Mobile application?
I tried to use SWFLoader(...) but since its MX library class only works on the desktop runtime environment, but fails to work on actual Android device when debugging the application.
Maybe it's possible to embed HTML that contain YouTube video into some Flex media container like TextArea or something?
I'm working on a prototype that would require me being able to read and track the mouse movement over a playing youtube video. The basic code to replicate my problem boils down to this simple test case:
Youtube player loads The label on the top right tracks the X coordinate of the mouse The number should update even when moving the mouse over the Youtube player
So far the program behaves as expected when running from the IDE (tested on both FlashDevelop and FlashBuilder) and even when running the file manually from the output folder. But, alas, when I try to run it from anywhere else than the debug folder (be it another location on my computer or up on a webserver), the Youtube player seems to eat the events.
I don't get sandbox security warnings when debugging (thanks to allowDomain("*")) but I'm running out of ideas on why the program fails once you take the file out of the debug folder.
I want to be able to add youtube videos on my site. The site is built using as2 xml etc...Maby there is some sort of a .swf youtube player that i can load into the site?I can provide the code & files if necessary but for now heres the site:flaw.seIf this is a stupid question and takes to much effort then im willing to pay a little sum..Beside that i want the pictures to stop scrolling 20 pixels from the right side of the webbrowser. I have the following mark-up to load a YouTube video player in a jQuery Tools overlay:
<a rel="#YouTubeVideo_MZKORPYI0HM" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZkoRpyi0HM" title="Watch the YouTube video"> <img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/mZkoRpyi0HM/2.jpg" class="youtubeThumbnail
[Code]....
The page behaves exactly how I would expect in Firefox (all versions) and Chrome. However, in IE8 (and I have the latest flash plug-in), I see a "1 item remaining" message in the status bar and the overlay contains no flash player. Right-clicking on the grey space shows a "movie not loaded" message.
I write a flex application. I added some custom menu items in context menu. when I compiled this code using flashplayer 10.0, it works fine and my added context menu items are shown when I Right-Click. But when I compile same code for flashPlayer 10.1, menu items that I added in context menu are not shown when I Right-Click. I am using sdk 3.5.
I am doing this; private var cm:ContextMenu = new ContextMenu(); var versionMenu:ContextMenuItem = null; var dateMenu:ContextMenuItem = null; if(model.appVersion.length > 0) { versionMenu = new ContextMenuItem(model.appVersion); [Code] .....

I want to use the SeekBar component with the Youtube API. I tried this, which works with the FLVPlayback component:
var seek:MovieClip = new SeekBar(); player.seekBar = seek;
I'm having a big problem using youtube player API (AS2)... Here's the thing: I have a movie in library wich I load when clicking a menu. This movie is attached to stage using the following function:

I would Like to know, How can I run the destory command because the video keeps playing even though the command has been passed. I've used stopVideo and destory. they dont work until you press the pause button. I would like to end the video even if its playing.
Recently, when I tried to show the results of my work (some Flex app) to my boss, i was quite suprised that application which run perfectly well on my pc, on my boss' pc wasn't displayed properly (the only thing visible was a default grey background). After 3h of trying absolutely everything, finally the app showed up when I changed his Flash Player version from standard one to debug (both was v. 10.0.22.87). Does anyone know what can be the reason of this (any compiler flag or sth). Forcing my boss to installing debug FP was quite ok, but forcing final user of the app to do so is unacceptable.
PS: By showing I mean deploying to Tomcat on my pc and giving my boss a link to the app. We both use Win XP. Also when I installed debug FP for Netscape browsers and standard FP for IE (on my pc) the result is the same - working in Firefox, Opera, Chrome and grey background in IE. I've compiled both as a Debug and as a Release. I'm using Flash Develop 3.0.2 RTM After stripping my app to sth like this - it still works only in debug FP
I've just installed Flash builder on my machine, which went ahead and installed the debug version of Flash on my machine as well. It appears now that this has broken Flash in my browsers or at least the browsers have no idea where flash is located on my machine. When I open a browser and navigate to a Flash page I get the message,
"Alternate HTML content should be placed here. This content requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash "
This is from Google chrome but FF is also effected.
I'm embedding a video of YouTube by using their chromeless player, stretched and fit to all screen. the player includes by default their logo and it looks so huge so it ruins the graphic.in youtube site, they offer you to replace the original logo with new one - "Powered by Youtube", but they don't explain how to remove the original first.[code]...
stream a video from Youtube and play that video in the player of their choice? I have a client wanting a response for this one, I did check out Youtube and found nothing.
hide the video content of the YouTube player (only statusbar (where is play button etc.) is visible) ? Or maybe do you know other (flash) players that have the ability to stream the YouTube movies ?
