Html :: Loading Image Whilst Flash Swf Is Downloading
Aug 6, 2011
i have a big flash file that loads in but takes a noticeable amount of time to download. Its a header and i was just wondering if i could have an image instantly appear and then when the flash is downloaded seamlessly overlap it? Just wondering if there was an HTML to do this?
I am using a mx:Resize effect to change the width of an image in Flex (leaving the height to look after itself) but I want the image to remain vertically centered on the page. Whilst I could calculate the aspect ratio of the photo, and work out the new y value to keep it centred, I would have to include a mx: Move effect too, and I am hopful that Flex has a simpler way. This is for a photo gallery where images are loaded at run-time, and swapped about.
So I really would like to avoid recalculating the aspect ratio and vertical position every time the updateComplete event fires, I tried putting my image inside a mx: VBox with verticalAlign="middle", thinking that the box would do all the centering for me, but this only seems to happen when the app first starts - i need it to gradually adjust the position during the period where the effect plays (to keep it central even when part-way through).
I have a site made in Dremweaver with tons of sound clips with HTML tags and now I am recreating whole site in Flash and now I need to make list of those clips and I want when a user click on some clip that it start download it.
here is the link of my Flash application [URL] hit the above URL and click on the PostCard section shown.. This will show you image and button to download that image. Application works fine at above URL and it downloads the file too but when any user hits the alternate url , the file is not downloaded.. [URL]
I am downloading a video into a video object, it's will take too time to download in server, so i need buffer bar or loading bar for dynamic downloading video file, and also i need to download it's some fastly.
If any body have script or tutorial regarding these topics then please forward me.
I asked a question last night and got an answer almost instantly. LOVE stack overflow!I am working on the same site and the other day I was on a computer and the uploader script was not working (uploadify), I was frustrated and looked through the code and everything was fine, worked on all other computers, then I decided to check if flash was installed and it wasnt.
Is there any way to check if the user has flash, and if they dont somehow say that on the page? I know for Javascript there is a tag, but is there something I can use for Flash?
I've got Flash content that needs to run within a web page off a CD. It works fine if I change the security settings in the Flash Global Security settings screen but that can only be accessed online. So...an the security violation be overcome with a cross-domain XML on the local drive somehow?
I am loading images of different size and then images are scaled and border is drawn for each image as shown in below link,[URL]... I want that border of images to be of the same width and height and for that I need to find out the max width and height size image before loading all the images. Is there any way that I can know the width and height of an image before loading it completely?
[code]This script is for a loader image gallery in flash, as part of a class assignment. What happens is that in flash, when I open the swf file, the initial image (images/nair_evanescentautumn.png) will load fine. However, clicking on any thumbnail image (including the exact same images/nair_evanescentautumn.png), will result in an error saying the file cannot be found.I cannot figure out why it is doing this... I've tested it over. Clicking each thumbnail does go to the correct position in the two separate functions. All said full-size image links are in the folder images/, and replacing the initial loader image will load the other images in place of the default one. However, clicking on any thumbnail still results in URL not found, even though everything works correctly.[code]Before anyone asks why I'm putting this kind of content into a flash site, I'm not--this is only for a class assignment. I'm just trying to figure out why my images aren't loading right when I'm only doing the exact same thing in the functions as I am on the other pages.Of note, commissions.swf has the exact same feature, just with swf files loaded instead, and it works perfectly fine. home, traditional, digital, and photography all have the image gallery, and all have the same issue (I only referenced one page because if I can fix one page I should be able to fix all of them). As for the artworks, they are all my fiance's. The website design was built for her, and I used the website design for this project because I didn't want to have to build an entirely new interface design. Since the project also required a gallery, I felt that this interface would work just fine.
I hope you can help with a problem thats causing me stress!.I'd like to let users download mp3 from my site.I'd just like to click the button and up pops the windows prompt that says "download file" and "choose destination folder" etc.
I'm designing a flash website for someone, and he is wondering if there's a way for me to set it up in flash but have the body of the website be in HTML so he could go in at any time and edit the website. This sounded easy enough, but after playing around with things, I'm not sure if it's possible. Is there a way to have flash load an HTML file inside a Flash file when a button is hit, etc?
i saw a bunch of tutorials about XML on kirupa, but never a real tutorial on how you can load an XML file in your swf from HTML. I mean for my new website i need the menu to be in different languages, and it would be great if i could load the menu text via XML in my flash. And it would be way better if someone knew how i can load an XML into flash just by calling it in HTML, so i can chose different XML files every time an other language is chosen.
the entirety of the page loads, but not all of it is in the dynamic text box. If I trace the results of the onData, the whole page shows up in the outbox window, but scrolling all the way down (using the attached UIScrollBar component that comes with Flash) only takes me maybe a quarter of the way through.
I'm importing an XML document into a flash movie. The XML is using HTML tags so that I can highlight certain words and use HTML links in the text field the data is being loaded into.
But the issue I'm having is that all of the < and > tags and all information within it being displayed within the text field.
The text field's html property is true. The text field's multiline property is true. In the XML document, the text that I'm having load into this text field is separated by the CDATA tag so that it doesn't get parsed out.
I just can't figure it out. Before I used the CDATA tag, I put all the necessary < and > tags in place, and I'm getting the same results.
I don't know why everything is being displayed even though I'm rendering this text as HTML.
I'm trying to set-up a file download in a swf. It's a autocad .dwg file. I'm using the get url command and it's working fine with pdf's and doc's but getting a "page cannot be found error" with the .dwg file.
We have a very large SWF hosted in a website which is just a repository of hundreds of movies/symbols. We load this SWF at the beginning with the Loader class but then the client will access a very few of them at that moment. Is it possible to tell the loader to download symbols only when they're needed? (as with applicationDomain.getDefinition(...)).
For a project we need to download and save pdf files on an IPAD device for offline use through an AIR for iOs application. After a lot of searching I haven't found much information on this subject. My question is, can it be done, and if so, can you provide us with some pointers to lead us in the right direction.
im wanting to have people be able to download mp3's from my movie without opening another url. just want the windows 'save or open' box to appear. the getURL opens a quicktime movie in the browser (at least on my pc).
I would like someone to tell me if there is a way to load html or php page in flash just like a movieclip without actually navigating from the flash player(by using getURL code). Basically, I am wondering if there is a way to load a html file just like we load movieclips and perform all the functions of html page.
I was wondering if its possible to load specific content from a html page into a flash textfield. For example html content that is within a specified div/class tag of a webpage? The reason for me needing to know if its possible is that I've soon to work on a project that involves using an old Java CMS that will work with Flash but all i've come across so far is loading html pages into flash without the header html and body tags or by using xml and text files.
