Html :: Align Swf Object To The Left With 100% Width?

i have a swf object in my page, and i want it to have 100%width (entire screen) but i want the swf to be aligned to the left. with the following code it gives me the 100%width but the swf is aligned to the center of the page, is there a way to change the alignment?

This should be relatively simple, except that my entire movie (site) is TopCenter based. I just have one movie clip (some text) that I need to be top Left aligned & I can't figure out how to put it there, especially since it is within an MC that is centered and full-screen (liquid layout). This is my code right now (within terminal MC):

How can align my application to the left in Flex ? The application is horizontally centered and when I resize the browser window it stays centered. It is not css padding, it is flex padding, so I guess I have work with Flex code.
I've tried to add the following properties to the Application container: paddingLeft="0", left="0".. but it doesn't work. Still centered. I've also tried to set "align","left" in the html/javascript code, but it doesn't solve the issue, because the padding is inside the flex application.

I'm having a small problem with aligning movieclips. I have 2 movieclips.
For examples sake let's call them
black_box
red_box
I need red_box to align to the bottom left of black_box. Now the code I'm using works when black_box lays on the 0 axis for both x and y. But since the positioning of these movieclips are dynamic I'm having problems.
I'm almost sure I just need to add in the current x and y values into the equation but I simply can't figure it out

red_box._x = black_box._width - black_box._width;

I want flash banner to span acros the screen so I put width="100%" and Stage.scaleMode = "noScale"; ok. But, this way all its content is centered. I want it to stick on the left, and so I put this code in it:

This works. But the way this thing works when I resize browser window is far, very far from smooth. I tried to change it to

I am wondering if there is some straightforward way to do this, like some hidden FLA setting, or some Stage/_root property, and if there is no, how the hell to script it?

Any way to bottom-left align components? An <HBox .../> nested in a <Canvas .../> doesn't work because the elements in the HBox are top-aligned instead of bottom aligned.
For example, I'd like my components to be aligned like this:

I'm trying to get my clip to stay at the left of the screen on stage resize, but it isn't working. This is my code:
stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, resizeHandler);

circleMenu.x = 0;

Obviously that doesn't work, but how do you get the global zero X position. When I resize the window, my clip moves along with it.

I'm planning to provide the visitors of my website an option to toggle between their normal window and an optional fullscreen window. I just don't know how to align a simple movieclip to the left bottom of my fullscreen window (margin 20px). I can't use static parameters because it has to be adjusted to everyone's personal screen resolution. Does anyone know how to fix this?

In a card game I use a TextField in the middle to display the playing table number, but also to detect if a playing card has been played - using myTextField.hitTestObject(myCard) - which means the TextField's position and dimensions may not change:
My current AS3 code is:
var format:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
format.color = 0xFFFFFF;
format.size = 30;

However the TextField's content (the String "#2029" in the above screenshot) is not in the center of it.
I can not set _middle.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.CENTER because this changes the width of the border (and breaks hitTestObject()).
Is there another way to align the text in the middle?

I have an application with width/height of 100%. I have several nested groups within and their measurements are all not set, instead being defined as top=5 or left/right=10, etcI'm trying to get the actual with of a group that should be 390. I've set the swf object size to be 400 from the html embed code, and the group is inside another group that is width=100%. The group has a left=5 and right=5 so the width should be 400-10. When I display the .width and .measuredWidth of this group, the width is always 400.I'm fairly new to flex/flash. Do I need to have explicitly set widths in order to get the width of child containers? Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

I have published my movie to take up 100% of the width and height of the screen.It takes up the entire height of the screen, but there is about a 10 pixel gap on the left and right side of the movie.

Im working on a system that loads text from an external source and scrolls the information across the screen. I've figured that part out but what I need to know how to do is get the loaded elements(which are textboxes in movie clips) to align to the right of each other respectively when loaded since they all will have different widths based on how much text is in there.
Example: [Loaded movie clip with text here number 1][Loaded movie clip with text here number 2][Loaded movie clip with text here number 3]

I am really confused on how to keep the parent 'canvas' sprite aligned to the centre of the stage with the 'registration point' changing with it's children being added. I am guessing that some calculation of the initial registration point is needed but I just cant work it out

I have a swf object that is to the left of a header div that is 1000px wide. the swf is 303px wide. How would I make the swf on the left hide behind the window when the windows is only, say, 1050px wide?

notice how the object get hidden, still plays, but doesn't lose it's aspect ratio?
How does someone do this?

I am trying to do a apply a tween for the width property on a MovieClip Object but every time it changes the width and the position too, and I don't want that. I want to change the width going to one side without changing the x and y of the object.
I tried both of thes and they gave the same result.
var c:Tween = new Tween(left, "scaleX", Strong.easeOut, 1, 1.5,20,true);
var c:Tween = new Tween(left, "width", Strong.easeOut, 20, 200,20,true);
I think it is applying the transformation according to a center of the movie clip. but I don't know how it can be changed.
