I have an Image called "PanoramaImage" (which is very long in width). I want this image to move from right to left & from left to right automatically.
I am using flash as3. I am loading this image from the same folder where the .fla file exist. my image to move by using Up & Down arrow keys.

the problem is that delta is always 3 or -3 (I can see it in my output window), no matter if I rotate my mouse whell just one "click" or try to roll it as much as I can in one go... its always 3 or -3...
I have a series of thumbnails that should scroll from left to right & right to left when you roll over the movie clip buttons on either side. IT was working in another flash movie, but I moved it to a different flash file and now it's not working. The hit buttons within the movie clip buttons have this action script:
I'm trying to make a loader class that will spit back MovieClip data from the Loader. If another class/function requests the same data (Rather, the same file), rather than making a new loader and re-loading it, I was hoping to just have it return the same MovieClip. This all works to some extent, but the problem I'm having is this - Because the new request is adding the MovieClip, it's taking it away from the old one.
I tried making a copy when the request is made, but the image is generally not loaded then, and because the copies aren't updated, most of the images are empty when everything requests it.So basically what I'm hoping you can guide me towards is a sort of... C++ pointer-esque thing, something that could point to the MovieClip data without actually taking it away from everything else. I've messed with AS3 for a while, but can't find anything like that. Or any other method that would let multiple MovieClips reference a single "original" movie clip, reference-style.
how do I script a movieclip to repeatedly fade/move/scale from x to z back to x to z again and again..I've tried onEnterFrame with ..if statements and whatnot but with no luck.[code]
My swf is 600px wide, and most of the pictures does not exceed that. However, some of the pictures needs to be presented in a larger width. url... solves the problem in a great way, by scrolling the images to the left automatically. (for example, check the second picture in Knut Bry's portfolio) My problem is that I can't figure out how on earth I'm gonna do that. Can anybody help me? Or maybe point me in the right direction?[code]
I have a Movieclip on stage with nested movieclips inside. All referenced at 0,0. None of the child movieclips load any dynamic content, animate or have Masked Layers. It does have an input textfield in one of the child MCs. The parent MC shows 280 px width, while it returns 313 px with a .width trace. There is no code that alters the .width value of the parent MC at run-time. And the ParentMC on stage is not scaled (it is at 100% width/height)
I have a MC called rectangle, and inside I drew a rectangle with a width of 100,0, placed it at the center and linked the mc to a class of the name name (Rectangle)however, when I create and instance of Rectangle and I trace its width it says 149.5, I didnt make any change

I have a graphic that I want to scroll from right to left across the screen. I want the graphic to loop, not when finished, but when the right edge of the graphic hits the right edge of the screen.
in AS 1.0, how do you continuously scroll an MC across the screen from right to left and then when it reached its destination, "box" will go to its original location from the right and then move the "box" again to the left? It's like mimicking a scrolling marquee.

i have a swf object in my page, and i want it to have 100%width (entire screen) but i want the swf to be aligned to the left. with the following code it gives me the 100%width but the swf is aligned to the center of the page, is there a way to change the alignment?
I am working on a simple scroller rite now. What it is suposd to do is scroll a row of buttons to the left when you go over the left button and to the rite when you go over the rite button. i am pretty sure i have the wright syntax but i alwasy get an error.
I am currently working on a slideshow that loads it's images from xml. I want the slideshow to scroll automatic left and right. Now the problem is that i can't figure out how to tell flash that if the last image is in frame how to scroll backward till it reaches the first image.It can scroll automatic forward until it reaches the last image.I can tell flash when the last image has reached te stop sliding.
I have an application with width/height of 100%. I have several nested groups within and their measurements are all not set, instead being defined as top=5 or left/right=10, etcI'm trying to get the actual with of a group that should be 390. I've set the swf object size to be 400 from the html embed code, and the group is inside another group that is width=100%. The group has a left=5 and right=5 so the width should be 400-10. When I display the .width and .measuredWidth of this group, the width is always 400.I'm fairly new to flex/flash. Do I need to have explicitly set widths in order to get the width of child containers? Is there something I'm doing wrong here?
In my code I am creating MCs and having them drop down the screen at varying speeds, but am having a hard time thinking of an easy way so that if one MC 'overtakes' another slower-moving one it will be displayed above it.I really don't want to have to run a hit test every frame for every MC through the array of MCs..
I am wanting to make a scroller similar to the Flash Components 360PanVeiwer[url]...but I have no idea about how I can go about doing it. Could someone please explain how i might acheive this in AS3 alo I don't necessarily need it to be 360 I just want to be able to scroll through a movie clip that is much bigger than my stage and click on the buttons in side the clip. I hope that makes sence.
Why is it that the scroller is on the right side when I use the component ScrollPane ? I want it on the left side -Much more logocal when the text is in english. How can I customize it? I cant use the UIScrollBar - makes problems when I load it from txt file and then load the SWF to anouther file so I decided to use the scrollPane.
Is there any tutorial showing how to do a slide show where the images are loaded dynamically through XML and when I move the mouse to left or right, the images moves aside left or right depending where the mouse cursor is please. I have around 100 small images to show. No need any fancy effects, it's simple the image sliding according the mouse position (left / right).
I seem to be having difficulty figuring out the code required for mouse over and scroll left to right. Basically, I have arrows either side of the window and I would my timeline to smoothly go to the left or the right when the cursor is over the arrow.

I want that the DataGridColumn or AdvancedDataGridColumn would automatically resize it's width so as to fit the content within. I'm new to flex. I want to implement something like HTML tables. The Data Rendered is simple Text. Some Rows have little longer Text, in that case I would like to automatically extend the width of DataGridColumn.
I have published my movie to take up 100% of the width and height of the screen.It takes up the entire height of the screen, but there is about a 10 pixel gap on the left and right side of the movie.
The problem I'm having is gettin the correct coordinates for the amount of left and right scroll. I've tried countless variations and nothing is working - which is getting very frustrating.
