getUser was already in UserService.java. I just created getUser2 and it's identical to getUser. When I try to call getUser2, i get the "Cannot invoke method" error. question: Do I need to specify getUser2 in some other file? like in some configuration file? if so, which one and how do I do it.

I need to know what program a graphic designer should use, so the programmer (me) can easily import the design into flash without much fuss. I know that illustrator is kind of good, but i heard that you could also use indesign.If you know of any limitations or little quirks one has to watch while exporting importing to / from flash or illustrator, had a problem with an illustrator file once that used many effects, it crashed my flash ide durring import.

View 2 RepliesI'm in desperate search for a professional Flash Developer who wouldn't mind taking a few moments to participate in an interview about a past or recent Flash Project he/she has worked on. Unfortunately for me, I have had 2 people commit to this, and back out. The first completely ignored all messages and inquiries after I sent the information to her. After having no choice but to search for another person, I found another that was eager to help. Two days after I sent him the related material, I received a message stating he wasn't aware that it was a Flash project, and that they don't do any Flash in house, so as of last night, my second lead has turned into a dead end. I am now on my last ditch effort to find someone that would be willing to share their experience with me, so I can complete my assignment on time, which - by the way - is due Friday, October 29th.

View 4 RepliesI have a client-server multigame suite for PC ("kind of" cross-platform using cygwin), which is developed in Java(game menus and database management), C++ (server side), and adobe Flash (game graphics & interaction).
I have never tried to develop for android, so i have no experience.I am thinking of migrating this suite to google TV. So i would like someone with android experience to give a clue on the following :
1) Is it going to be easy to migrate the Java application to an Android application?
2) What kind of Flash support does Android have? Can it load directly swf applications? Does it have to load swf's through browser?
3) Can i find any kind of performance indexes for google TV hardware?
I need to load somehow the html code of a webpage A into a javascript string of another webpage B, on a different host. I know this is impossible to do with javascript alone because of the same origin policy, and I know I could do it loading the page via php on my server and then send results back to the user's client but I wouldn't be able to handle so many requests, so I need it to be done directly by the user's browser. I can use nearly whatever browser scripting language/applet framework common enough to be installed on the majority of my users' computers, like flash and java.On example, what if I use flash or java to load the external html code and then call a javascript callback function providing the source? Could this work?

View 6 RepliesI had a complete interactive application built in ActionScript 2.0, and now need to revise and update it -- which means converting the old code to 3.0. The first scene is a preloader for the entire application that loads and intro animation before launching the application. I went to the help section figuring that once I had some actionScript in the file, I could delete and experiment with the code until I began to understand (I did take a semester long course in Java, but not much has been retained). If you couldn't tell already, I'm a designer and not a programmer.
I copied the ActionScript from the help section, and pasted it into my Flash document. I went to test movie and got the following error message: "1037: Packages cannot be nested" I can't even figure out what that means! I have nothing else in my document.
