I have a datagrid whose data keeps updating quite frequently.On every update, I need to change the cell color of only those cells whose data has changed.That too, if the updated value is less than the older value then the cell color should change to RED else, GREEN.
I have tried using labelFunction, cellrenderer, etc. But to no avail.By no means, I am able to access the present data in the cells to compare it with the new data.I have added the sample classes in the attachment. To get them to work, just create an fla with a DataGrid & a Button components in its library & mention 'del' as its document class.Just run the fla & click on the two buttons on stage to see the values in the price column changing.

Last time I worked with flash sockets I knew that a policy file is required only if the swf file is embedded in a different domain from the one where the socket connection is about to be made. Did newer version of flash player changed this, so now they'll alk for a policy file no matter what?

Does anyone know which programs work best together with flash for importing graphics that are vector based. I need to know what program a graphic designer should use, so the programmer (me) can easily import the design into flash without much fuss. I know that illustrator is kind of good, but i heard that you could also use indesign.If you know of any limitations or little quirks one has to watch while exporting importing to / from flash or illustrator, had a problem with an illustrator file once that used many effects, it crashed my flash ide durring import.

I've gotten far on my own just using online tutorials and dinking around in Flash on my own but my boss(es) are starting to ask for more complex stuff that I simply can't learn by just piecing together my Flash education.I know there's many, many books out there that will teach you Flash but can anyone recommend any particular one(s) that are more concentrated in creating Web elements as opposed to game or animation development?

I understand Flash CS5 isn't the best way to make an app, but I'd really like to test out the apps I've made with it on my iPhone. Has anyone come up with a way to modify Flash CS5 so it doesn't require a Developer Certificate or Provisioning Profile (like the way you would modify Xcode so you can compile apps without paying $99 for the developer program)?

I'm in desperate search for a professional Flash Developer who wouldn't mind taking a few moments to participate in an interview about a past or recent Flash Project he/she has worked on. Unfortunately for me, I have had 2 people commit to this, and back out. The first completely ignored all messages and inquiries after I sent the information to her. After having no choice but to search for another person, I found another that was eager to help. Two days after I sent him the related material, I received a message stating he wasn't aware that it was a Flash project, and that they don't do any Flash in house, so as of last night, my second lead has turned into a dead end. I am now on my last ditch effort to find someone that would be willing to share their experience with me, so I can complete my assignment on time, which - by the way - is due Friday, October 29th.

I was wondering which IDE choice you flash developer use to write the code....I use Flex Builder for my AS3 only project so the code below will display nicely with coloring keywords. I wanted to know if there are better choices there...Also, does flash developer do the AS3 programming only? Do they do graphic design at all?

The ValidationManager has a public Dictionary for storing UI components that implement the IValidatable interface.I am testing a command class that needs an instance of ValidationManager and I want it to fail the validations. My ideal book would be one with actual hands-on walk thru examples increasing in complexity and doesn't spend unnecessary time on basic OOP. 1.Have a Flash Webpage under development designed to permit preview and streaming of FLV video.Downloaded FMS Developer as a test server on my computer.Apache 2.2 loads with it with a checkbox option to install it or not. I'm able to stream my video OK in this setup using RTMP://localhost and the FLVPlayback component in Flash Pro.I like some of the OSMF players better like the one in the FMS Start Screen, but I haven't been able to integrate/embed it into my Flash webpage using the HTML provided.They say just paste it to the webpage, but in ActionScript how do you do that?how to embed Strobe Media Player into an FLA webpage using their HTML.
2.I plan to use PayPal Express Checkout for Digital Goods (EC/DG) as my pay facility on the Flash webpage. My videos will play to a cuepoint and then jump to a PayPal button which executes (EC/DG) .I'm having trouble integrating PayPal with my Flash webpage. There's a lot of online help, but most solutions involve PHP. I bought the e-book, "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 for PHP" which recommends downloading the XAMPP platform which contains Apache, PHP, MySQL etc.
(a) If I use the XAMPP software, as recommended in the Dreamweaver book, do I have to first uninstall the Apache that comes with FMS? I assume you can't have two Apache's running at the same time.
(b) Is FMS the Server or is Apache the server in the FMS installation?
(c) Does the Apache software installed with FMS include PHP and MySQL, which seems to be required for any server-side coding?
I want to use FMS with Amazon Web Services to implement my Streaming Video Project, but I'm not sure I can do it with all the problems I'm encountering.Two final questions:
3.Why would I need Flash Builder if I have Dreamweaver?Don't they do essentially the same thing?
4.I'm trying to do in 1 and 2 above just using ActionScript and JavaScript, which I understand is just Server-side ActionScript?

When game page loading , the flash game itself does not appear ( just white area as the holder of the flash game) untill the game almost finish downloading, then it appears .. This long waiting with just white area makes visitors leave, thinking there was nothing there.
