Flash Games - When Game Page Loading , The Flash Game Itself Does Not Appear?

When game page loading , the flash game itself does not appear ( just white area as the holder of the flash game) untill the game almost finish downloading, then it appears .. This long waiting with just white area makes visitors leave, thinking there was nothing there.
I am still learning and I am trying to design the game levels for my first game(a platform one).
I have some straightforward questions because I feel I am on the wrong way.
Should each level have its own class ?
The way I am trying to do is, when one finishes the first level I set to null the variables that pertains to that class, unregister all events and remove all children from the stage, call a second level constructor, without declaring any variable, new level2(); and set to true a static var "in order to save" that progress in case one wants to play that level again.
However I see the code becomes messy, I run into issues, and memory management concerns so much.
I searched it for all over the internet but I can't find any tutorial that explain it in details, so I'm trying out many ways of achieving what I want, but now I am really in need of some advices on it to not get lost.
I'm aware there are tutorials online that cover how to make game menus and preloaders for AS3 flash games, but I've found that books are more in-depth for certain topics. Are there books with sections that cover the process of making a preloader and menus for an AS3 flash game?My ultimate goal is to implement a preloader AND game menus without referring to the timeline.
I play games on Pogo and have never had a problem with their Flash Games until released Daily Hot Shots. It doesn't load fully and I've done EVERYTHING I know to do to get it to play. No errors show up. I can play ALL the other flash games but this one. When I right click, the name of the site's owners do not show up....I have the settings showing though Not all of the game loads and that's the problem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling....tried a different browser and have the same exact problem. THIS GAME WILL NOT PLAY.
I'm creating a game at the moment for my university course and it involves the player character jumping on top of boxs twice to break them as opposed to just once.What would be the most efficient/simple way of writing this in Actionscript 3.

I want to create a game similar to all the reaction time games out there, with the difference that my game has a set amount of time that you as the player will have to guess when it occurs (with a simple click). Each player has a number of tries where the closest time from the set time wins.
I am trying to load a flash game in flex but the game does not work the same as it does in the flash player. The game was made using AS2 but I read somewhere that is should play without errors, that is not the case. Played normally the guns shoot the enemies no problem but in flex the bullets just float around the enemies never hitting them. It is hard to describe what is happening so I also included a link with the flex 3 project file that has all of the files.

well i made a game and in the game there is music at the first frame and when u lose to goes back to first fram and more music plays so they are overlapping.

I am going to develop a very simple game for android and for iphone/ipad I have the option to develop it in cocos2d or in adobe flash air (i am not a developer, but i have 2 developers who are offering me the service)I have a developer that states that cocos2d is better and other one that states that adobe flash air.I want it in cross platform.the cost offered by both developers is the same..i have heard that adobe air has the flaw that it is very slow, is this real? if you had the 2 options which will you use to develop your game and why?
I'm making a game that populates user-designed cards into the game using an external xml file. My main class loads the xml file and then calls to the "Card" class, which wants to use the xml file. I've tried using this.parent and it just gives me a null object reference error. This is what I have so far: Main.as
currently i making this game and objects would spawn at random and be able to click but when de game starts itself, the spawn is correct but i am unable to make it stop when time goes to 0seconds.

im trying to create a tamagotchi game type game. For some reason i can not add any items to the stage.Currently i have imported 2 png images to the stage and coverted them to movie clips. One is called TamagotchiCharacter and the other is called Beer. I have also created a new 2 AS3.0 script class called TamagotchiGame and DraggableItem. The following is TamagotchiGame:

I have assigned the above code as the BaseClass of the Beer symbol, this has allowed the beer to become draggable and droppable etc.when i run the program nothing happens, i just get a blank white screen.
It's about the "Game Character Dialogues", It is used to instruct the user what to do, like what you see in BookWorm or Diner DAsh.I used dynamic text fields to generate these dialogues,but as I continued doing it. I found myself stuck.I have no idea on how to change the words when the "next" button is clicked. there will be no previous button. but the dialogue will replay when the character is clicked.
Is there a way to get this code to work? It's meant to count the seconds passed while playing the game and gives a bonus multiplier to the current score when the game ends. I don't know how to get the returned value to combine it into the multiplier int variable. Is there any way to get this code to work or is it completely wrong?
We have a bug in one game whereby the sound of the word repeats. Even when we use stopAllSounds - the sound is still kept in memory and you can hear it in the next activity - it's a disaster and kids get real angry.
I am making a Shooting game in flash actionscript 3 and have some questions about the flow of logic and how to smartly use the OOPs concepts.There are mainly 3 classes:Main Class: Initializes the objects on the screen.Enemy Class: For moving the enemies around on the screen.Bullet Class: For shooting.What I want to do is find out if the Enemy has been hit by a bullet and do things which must be done as a result ...What I am doing right now is that I have a ENTER_FRAME event in which i check collision detection of each enemy unit (saved in an array) with the bullet instance created, and if it collides then perform all the necessary actions in the Main class .. clogging the Main class in the process
the problem i get is that when the user selects "new game" it should restart the game. when it does this the toolbar is not reset. instead a new menu item is added (without removing the old one. so evertime the user hits new game, a new "file" menu is added). how do i make sure there is only 1 "File" menu? and im using actionscript 2
I have 2 questions regarding bitmaps. Say I'm loaing graphics from a game off a server into a .swf file: 1) Which format is the best to use - gif, jpeg,png? (for non transparent images) 2) When a user plays a .swf movie it gets saved to their browser cache and its loaded the next time they access the same file, but when your externally loading images does flash have to re-download all the images or is it all stored in the browser cache?
I'm currently having a problem with preloading. What I have is: 1. Preloader -> an SWF preloader, made in Adobe Flash CS5 2. GUI -> an SWF file containing the user interface, made in Adobe Flash CS5 3. Game -> an SWF containing actual game logic, made in Flash Develop
The preloader SWF should preload both GUI and Game. I can do this, no problem. The problem however is: I need to be able to control the GUI from the Game. So how can I access the GUI from the Game? In particular the main movieclip in the GUI which contains every interface screen. How can a script inside a SWF communicate with another SWF (all in the same file)?
I load a game on click of a button in level1. When I click on some other button I load another swf in level10 & unload the game in level1. When I click the game button I load it again. The problem is: when the game is loaded first time it works fine but in subsequent attempt it behaves erratically. I am using time interval functions a lot of places in the code which moves the thngs on the screen. When I load the movie again after clicking on some other button, the things start moving on its own...
In the game I am creating, I don't want to import the images directly to flash, otherwise the game will be well over 10MB and that is not a good thingamajiggy So, I am loading them in from a folder residing in the same directory as the SWF.Question - Even if a 56k user plays the game, they shouldn't have a problem receiving the files pretty quickly, considering the image folder with the 8MB+ images is in the same directory, right?
