i have a small requirement. like i am currently working on a games website in which whenever i open the game a flash preloader needs to open first and hide the game file while the flash preloader loads. once the flash preloader completes its loading then immediately the game content need to display. i heard it can be done using javascript,ajax.

View 2 RepliesEverything is embedded in an HTML site. The HTML loads a preloader that then loads the actual flash movie. Inside this movie I created a few buttons, inside a scroll bar movie clip. I want the buttons to load a whole new movie inside the same html. The code I'm using in the button is simply:

}
The problem is that it works beautifully in the Flash movie tester but doesn't do anything when tested inside the browser, embedded in the HTML. I think the problem is that the HTML embeds as an object the first movie, the preloader for the menu movie, not the menu movie itself.

I have a cms where my client loads banner ads from their clients. They don't know the dimensions or don't want to enter them when they upload the banners. Is it possible to capture the dimensions to set the object attributes as we grab the movies from the db to display in the page?I read that the movie dimensions are available in the loaderinfo object, but this is a AS3 object right? Are AS3 objects available outside the flash movie? Can I access the loaderobject via javascript?The Flash movies we're trying to load are not ours, we don't have access to the flas or anything like that so we can't edit anything to do with the movies themselves.

Is there a way to pause (not reset) the game, that will work on most, if not all, flash games? When the drop down buttons in the menu are scrolled over, the .swf files disappear.index1.jpg is a screenshot of the page normally, index2.jpg is a screenshot when the menu link is scrolled over.I am also having difficulties with flash working with java on another page, the same .swf files do not fade into the background like the rest of the page when images are enlarged in a javascript gallery within the page. gallery.jpg shows this.

Different browsers give different "focus" for flash element and therefore not properly triggered in events: Event.MOUSE_LEAVE, MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER. I have JS triggered for MOUSE_OVER and MOUSE_LEAVE but this seems not to work.
Also mouseWheel is attributed to the browser, not a flash object.
Firefox 4.x/5.0 - fires them properly, without clicking Chrome 12.0.742.112 - it fires after the grant of "focus" or click on the flash object, like IE 9.0.1

I'm new working with Django. I have a html page with flash content named map.html, and I like to include it into another page named soporte.html (which extends base.html page) through {% include %} tag. If I open map.html directly without django, in firefox for example, I can see the flash content, but if I open the whole project using django (in firefox too) and I go to the page where is suposed to be the map I can't see anything.

I need to be able to start/stop or reload this swf with purely javascript as I don't have access to the source swf file to add any actionscript.I figured the easiest way to pull this off is by removing the element and replacing it forcing a redraw with would hince reload the swf movie. Though ie seams to cache the flash element and pretty much look over any updates I make to the embed/object tags and keeps right on going.So how do I force IE to redraw/update a flash element on a page?

The advantage is obvious, it's a nicer URL for the user, less characters to place in their site. I'm worried about security here, as somebody who doesn't know JavaScript; is this an inherently insecure way of doing things? How would you defer loading of other graphics on the page until after the images in a Flash gallery's images.xml file are finished loading?Is there any way to detect for this, or would I only be able to check if the flash swf object is finished loading? I'm pretty sure the swf object would be loaded/ready as with document.getElementById('flashobject').onload = function(){}; before the corresponding images have loaded though, instead of after.

Its a board game similar to Go but a lot simpler.I have two options flash or the much touted HTML5 with JS. I have to learn both though I have basic knowledge of JS.The problem with flash is I have to pay for the server component but the UI development could be easier and have a richer look and feel to it. With HTML5 + JS there is no cost involved but the UI development I feel will be clunky and not smooth. This I am not sure.

I have a preloader and it works fine but as soon as I put a movie clip on to it it either does nor work or loads from 80% onwards.All I want is 1 timeline and then have a movie clip come in on frame 8 or so, but in the bandwith profiler it shows content loading in frame 1 when there is nothing there

that's it.I checked. The movie clip that swfs are loaded into has instance "Cont" other instances are also ok. photo, bio and design are instances of buttons. Bio loads the swf but the preloader is not showing up. Photo doesn't load the swf and preloader at all ;/
How can I create a preloader which does this? I have seen many examples of code to load an external swf, but never something that loads itself.

In other words, if I have four images, I want them to preload with a single progress bar representing the total of all four, and then start the movie after all four have finished loading.

I have a file .fla with some impported .fla files and a backgound(scene1). I have a preloader(in the scene2) for it, but the preloader loads the backgound only. The other elements are loaded after the preloader finish.Is there some way to load all the scene2 content (the impported files) with the preloader?
