Java :: Apply Mathematical Rules Stored In Database To A Variable Gotten From Human Machine Interface?

Jun 10, 2011

I'm developing a project with Flex, Spring, Hibernate, MySQL, Tomcat, but one of the functionality is: " i have to store a mathematical rule like for example " a+b " into database, then in my human machine interface, i have two fields when user write the variables "a" and "b", then a button with the label calculate which if it's clicked, it'll show bellow the result of applying the rule " a+b " to the variables "a" and "b" which the user previously." Now, i'm searching for an Java or Flex API or any other way that will give me the ability to apply a mathematical rule stored in database as string, to variables i got from human machine interface"

ActionScript 2.0 :: Display A Random Image Via Flash From A Selection Of Images Stored On A Database

Sep 17, 2009

I'm a designer working in tandem with a PHP programmer on a project where we will display a random image via flash from a selection of images stored on a database. Accompanying this image is a tagline and a path for a button and these variables are sent via a php script. The actionscript then picks up these vars via loadVars and displays them on screen - well, almost.

The tagline is displaying in the dynamic text box with no problems, but I'm struggling with how to display the image in the empty MC I've created (called 'pic') and also to attach the path to the button I've created (called 'projectURL_btn'). I'm fairly sure it's something fairly simple but I just can't crack it.

Java :: Generic DataGrid For Editing Objects Stored On A Server

Jun 23, 2011

I've knocked together a Java/BlazeDS server which creates a generic GridBean object. This GridBean contains:[code]I then created a Flex app that uses a RemoteObjectServiceWrapper to call my java server, grab the GridBean, create some DataGrid columns from the columnDefs and then set the dataProvider as the list of objects. Ok so far, everything renders.Now, what I'd really like to do is: set up some kind of event handler on the flex side so that if my item/object is edited in the datagrid, I fire a message off to java saying 'edited this field on this item'. The end goal is to have a nice generic way to render any list of objects from Java in a flex datagrid.

Java :: Hibernate Joins Every Table In Database

Aug 2, 2010

I've set up a small project as a test. I'm using BlazeDS and JPA with Hibernate on my test server, and flex with with dpHibernate to access the Java entities. Each Java entity extends BaseEntity, a class that contains ID and UUID fields. The Flex entities are created by DTO2FX.

when I run the Flex project to try and display a few rows from a Users entity, the SQL that is actually being executed is joining every table in my database. This continues until I get java.lang.StackOverflowError. This behavior is completely unexpected, and I'm not really sure where to look to fix the problem.

@Entity
@FXClass(ignoreSuperclasses={Principal.class, UserDetails.class})
@Table(name="edrUser")

ActionScript 2.0 :: Get A Variable That Has A Movieclip's Name Stored Inside It?

Aug 13, 2010

I have a simple question about Variables in AS2, i have a feeling the solution is pretty simple. What i exactly need is a variable that has a movieclip's name stored inside it. I created a variable called cardType and stored the moviecip's name inside it. Now when i declare the Tween you see below and assign it to the variable cardType (which should be replaced with the movieclip's name), it does not work.

PHP Code:

var CardType;
CardType = LondonQuestions_mc.redCard_mc;
new Tween(cardType, "_alpha", Strong.easeOut, 0, 100, 2.5, true);

String :: Flex - Download A String Variable As A File To The Local Machine?

I have a String variable in my flex (flash builder 4) application containing CSV data. I need to allow the user to download this data to a local file. For example, giving them a "csv" button to click and it might present them with a save file dialog (and I would be sending the contents of my string variable).Is this possible / how ?I am using the ResuableFX component for the datagrid to csv. ActionScript 2.0 :: Run A Mathematical Calculation On The Data?

Apr 30, 2004

I have XML data that looks like this: 197,168,198,168,204,168,206,168,207,169,208,etc This stuff is XY coordinate pairs, X1, Y1, X2, Y2, X3, Y3, etc. and are used by a drawing function to trace out a particular freeform shape. This array of data is usually 200-400 items long.Here is the AS code that is handling the reading of the XML and the drawing of the shape. This all works wonderfully:

[code]...

I am looking at the array and grabbing some points out, namely the first and last XY pairs, which I need for something else. That's the origXexp, origYexp stuff.The real problem is that I need to run a mathematical calculation on the data in this array. While this is a little hard to explain, I need to create a variable, let's call it expert_area, and then sequentially rip through that long string of numbers and do the following math (I'll use the simple X1 Y1 example): expert_area=0 expert_area = expert_area+((X1*Y2 - X2*Y1)/2)

where we move through the long string a pair at a time. So the first calculation would be (X1*Y2 - X2*Y1), the next would be (X2*Y3 - X3*Y2), (X3*Y4 - X4*Y3), etc. I've tried building loops to get the length of the expertArray[i] and then using that as the basis to proceed through the data. But everything I try either produces no results, or gets Flash stuck in an infinite loop. I'm unsure of where to put this, and how to construct it.
