Apr 18, 2006I have a form and I need the first Input Text Box to be automatically selected when the user goes to the page. I got this code and put it in but I am still have problems Use this in the frame that holds the textbox: Selection.setFocus("textboxname"); The name has to be in quotes.
When I put that code in and tested the movie it worked great but once I put it into an html page it doesnt work anymore. The text in the input box is still selected but it isnt on focus so the user still has to click in the text box to input the text. Is there a way around this?

Mar 1, 2012I got a dwg file converted into swf file. Now I want this swf file to embed in html page. No issue with that. The tricky part for me is to let the user select the entites of the file such as line/circle as one might select in autocad. After entity selection the swf file (by any means) pass the selected entity information back to the html page ( to the javascript function).

However, I need to write "iFrame.html" as the URL. I know that the container webpage's name is "iFrame.html." But what if I don't know the name of the HTML page? instead of "iFrame.html" is there a "_self" or "_parent" or external interface call that I can pass into the urlLoader that will get me the container HTML page of the swf?

Jun 24, 2010I'm using the HTML5 JW Player. It sizes the HTML5 video correctly, but shrinks the Flash fallback player; here's an example page: Test Page
If you view that page in IE, you'll notice that on panel 5, the video is smaller than the space it's supposed to occupy. On Firefox, it works fine because it's using the OGG video in its HTML5 video player.Is there a way to resize the Flash video via JavaScript/jQuery to fit the same space as the HTML5 video?

Apr 19, 2011I've looked high and low for an answer to this and I'm hoping someone has an answer, or at least a tip on how to avoid it.I'm loading a static HTML file into a container via the jQuery load() method. This static HTML file has a script which loads a swf. When I load that particular file, I get the white screen of death (WSOD) and the page explodes and everyone in the room dies a horrible death.I've had this happen also when using the jQuery wrap methods (wrap, wrapOuter, etc.) when a swf is present.It seems manipulating the DOM with a container that has a swf object causes this. Does anyone have a solution or a way that I can prevent it happening?

May 3, 2011I'm setting up a page that uses a flash menu to load html pages into a div container by the following call:

The loading works fine, but some of my pages had specific jquery scripts and that's where I've struck out so far. I assumed all I needed to do was transfer the script importations, css stylesheets and the jquery functions to my main document, but it won't work.
I also tried importing the html as a the complete html, which works on it's own, but not when imported into the main document. Most recently I heard I should try shifting the jquery function calls to the end of the loaded document, to after the content, My scripts work, just not when imported, so I suppose my question is how can I make the main- and imported documents play nice with each other? What say you we make this a jump-start tutorial for all us noobs to reference?

Jun 11, 2011I've been experimenting with MXML- and spark-textarea (and richtexteditor)when I copied some formatted texts like Test tes1 from MS Word 2007 and paste them inside the flash textarea , the formattings are gone (I only receive the plain texts)But when I do the same to the Jwysiwyg (a jquery wysiwyg text editor), the formatting doesn't disppear.Is there a way to make flash textareas receive formatted texts without destroying the formattings?

Sep 16, 2009I'm not sure if you able to do this or not. But basically I want to be able to grab text off a website (not the one the SWF is hosted on).
I have several sites from which I am making small amounts of money online.. I want to make a small app that loads the URL and searches the pages for the spot where the money is listed, then add them all up to shorten me having to consistently check each. The app could refresh loads, say every 30 seconds or so. Is there a way to do that?
Another example would be to make a text box in flash that displays the headline of an article on CNN.com
I did the like with loading XML from other pages, but what I want to do just involves grabbing any said text from a site.

Apr 27, 2011I have a flash file that will be running on my website, however, if, when a user is using the flash file, there is an update? (i.e. I update the swf and upload the new one to my site) I want the current flash file to say, "A new update is ready, refresh your page" .... I planned on doing this by having an html page that just has a number on it, when you first open the flash file it will find out what number is on that page, then, every 30 seconds or so it will check that page again, and, if that number changes (because I edited the html page to have a new number on it.) then it will know that I've also uploaded a new version of the swf file to the server and it will alert the user to refresh the page... So how do I check what number is on a blank html page with only 1 number in it via actionscript 2.0? Something about XML? Or is there just a simple function?

Mar 4, 2011I have to create a web page which can be set to full screen(I mean the real full screen,not like press the F11),in the full screen there should be some words displaying.

Normally,it show its contents(the questions),but someday,maybe a VIP come to visit the page,so we want to replace the whole page with a welcome screen.
Of course we can replace the [URL] (suppose it is the index page) with the welcome text(welcome xxx to our site...) in the server side.
However this is not convenient,and the text can not be full screened.
So I thought the flash,I can add a controller button at the page,when required,I click this button,and set the welcome words,then a flash will start to play with the sepcified words in a full screen model. It would be better if the flash can show the text with a Animation.
I have never did the flash development,so I want to know if this is possible?
BTW,can all the clients change to flash with juse one click?
I mean I click the controller button,then all the client who is visit this page should see the contents replaced by the flash at the same time.

Jul 7, 2010I'm using JQuery to create a button that (when clicked), removes a flash video from the page. Unfortunately, I can't simply use hide(). I must remove() because hiding doesn't stop the video in ie8 and the sound continues to play. After the video is removed I would like it to reappear when a "show video" button is clicked. I tried to accomplish this with clone() and detach()... The video appears but does not play and has missing controls in IE only. Other browsers work fine.
The video is initially added to the page using the AC_FL_RunContent() function. The issue is that when I try to add the "removed" video back to the page by calling AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase'... The page refreshes and shows only the video. Everything else has disappeared. How can I prevent that from happening?
Get Data From JQuery/Html In Adobe Air 2.5?
Mar 10, 2011is it possible to get any information/text from JQuery Alert or a simple textbox (per ID)?
My Problem: I took a picture in Air 2.5, save it to my disk, load a locale HTML file with the new picture and JQuery detects faces on it. Then I place the coordinates of the face into the html box or show it in an alert box. How is it possible to get these coordinates from HTML/JQuery? Facedetection with JQuery needs 1-2seconds in the browser.
PS: I want to do this without php. only air, flash, HTML or JQuery or another Plugin (without an extra server/apache).

when i test, the flash loaded. The code goes through everything and show "SENT" in the flash text box. However, it doesn't seem like it is calling the javascript and change the text in the HTML page.is there something wrong I did? i try the ExternalInteface.call method but doesn't work neither. ALSO, when i run it in FireFox, not error popup.however, when i run it in IE, I got this:

Mar 30, 2011I have a Flash video which sits in a small box on the side of my website and plays video.When the user clicks on a 'View larger' button I need it to display in a lightbox - but continue playing from the same place.A simple piece of jquery like this works fine to move the video to another DIV (such as a jquery UI popup window).

However in Chrome + FF it restarts the video from the beginning - basically it reinitializes the <object>.My solutions are either : Position it absolutely with CSS in the first place and move it to the popup with CSS and some nasty JS event resize handlers. Remember the position and just instantiate a new video player and make the user live with the delay of rebuffering

Dec 21, 2011I have a php/sql database that has thumb nails and videos in swf format and flv. On my html page I have an swf player. I have echoed the thumbnails and have the url of the videos. How can I get the video url playing on the player after a person clicks the thumbnail with out xml. Just by passing the url to the player.
I have hand some sucess with xml passing but this can`t work in this aspect. So I have been investigating jquery and other alternatives.
