From a button in Flash I just want to call a function written in jQuery.When I place the function outside jQuery's $(document).ready it works fine:[code]
I'm using the HTML5 JW Player. It sizes the HTML5 video correctly, but shrinks the Flash fallback player; here's an example page: Test Page
If you view that page in IE, you'll notice that on panel 5, the video is smaller than the space it's supposed to occupy. On Firefox, it works fine because it's using the OGG video in its HTML5 video player.Is there a way to resize the Flash video via JavaScript/jQuery to fit the same space as the HTML5 video?
I'm setting up a page that uses a flash menu to load html pages into a div container by the following call:
on (release){ getURL("javascript:getPage('test.html')"); }
The loading works fine, but some of my pages had specific jquery scripts and that's where I've struck out so far. I assumed all I needed to do was transfer the script importations, css stylesheets and the jquery functions to my main document, but it won't work.
I also tried importing the html as a the complete html, which works on it's own, but not when imported into the main document. Most recently I heard I should try shifting the jquery function calls to the end of the loaded document, to after the content, My scripts work, just not when imported, so I suppose my question is how can I make the main- and imported documents play nice with each other? What say you we make this a jump-start tutorial for all us noobs to reference?
I know there are ways to invoke javascript inside the html wrapper template for the flex application using ExternalInterface, but is it possible to reference an external html page?
I am trying to load some flash banner code (from database) into a webpage using jquery ajax.It is all working when adding the flash code in code-behind but when I am trying to load it with ajax some flash banners make the complete website disappear and only shows the banner.I am using jQuery Ajax and the response is in html like:[code]I am using .html() to add it to the page.
I have a Flash video which sits in a small box on the side of my website and plays video.When the user clicks on a 'View larger' button I need it to display in a lightbox - but continue playing from the same place.A simple piece of jquery like this works fine to move the video to another DIV (such as a jquery UI popup window).
$('.holder', dialog).append($("#DemoVideo")[0]);
However in Chrome + FF it restarts the video from the beginning - basically it reinitializes the <object>.My solutions are either : Position it absolutely with CSS in the first place and move it to the popup with CSS and some nasty JS event resize handlers. Remember the position and just instantiate a new video player and make the user live with the delay of rebuffering
I have a draggable popup window that has a title bar and an iframe in its content area. The iframe has a flash object embedded in it. It works great in all browser except for IE8 (IE7 and IE9 work fine). IE8 has a bad drawing problem when the window is being moved. Here's an example:Open the example in IE8, or if you're using IE9, hit F12 for developer tools, then select Browser Mode: IE8 using IE8 Standards.Drag the window around quickly and you'll see a very bad redraw of the iframe.
After working for a prolonged time on a programming problem, I start to get coding tunnel vision. It makes it harder to draw back and look at the problem from farther away. Hence my question: I am using a Drupal 6 site. When a menu option is clicked, the page opens and a Flash SWF file needs to played in a ThickBox. After 8 seconds, that Thickbox closes.
Opening the SWF file in the Thickbox when a link is clicked is no problem, just like closing the Thickbox afterwards; that's basic javascript. For that I use these:
[Code]...
But opening the Thickbox on load? I can add a link for the user to click, but it should open automatically. I figured out the PHP to have it only open on one specific page. From the Thickbox manual, I learned to open links to images - but not how to open it when the page loads.
i need to make the same call, but from flash. i am pretty sure this would be done using ExternalInterface.call(); however, i am not sure how this would be done. can anyone shed some light on this? i tried doing the following, but to no avail:
How can I display alternate HTML with the jquery.swfobject plugin for browsers without Flash? I'm unable to find any documentation or examples showing how to do this.
I am a web designer and I do like to hand code using jquery however, I think it would be much faster to use gui applications like flash to create animations especially on the fly as well as support for writing and editing source code.
I have website I am developing and I have an intro SWF that I have placed the following AS 3.0 code in the last frame to call the Jquery function "trigger" ; or I might be able to detect the end of the movie and then fire the function.
PHP Code:
import flash.external.ExternalInterface;ExternalInterface.call("trigger")trace ("the movieEnded");stop();
I have an swf loaded in a browswer (fire fox) and i use log on console using [code]I have initialized my swf in the document class on the Event.Added to stage.and i have a clean up function performing all the clean up/exit process in the code on the event [code]Now Doubt that this is being called/ activated/trigered as i am not able to log the start and end of the function to the console.The console log is of firebug.What exactly am i missing here? I would like to call the cleanup function on reload of page or relode of swf or change of page.How do i trigger and log it properly
I have a SWF movie inside of a jQuery UI tab, and the problem I'm having is that the SWF gets reloaded everytime I click away from the tab onto another tab, and then click back. I can inspect the DOM and see that the div containing the SWF is still in the DOM when I click away, so I don't know why this it seems to reload it when I click back to the tab.[code]...
I'm using JQuery to create a button that (when clicked), removes a flash video from the page. Unfortunately, I can't simply use hide(). I must remove() because hiding doesn't stop the video in ie8 and the sound continues to play. After the video is removed I would like it to reappear when a "show video" button is clicked. I tried to accomplish this with clone() and detach()... The video appears but does not play and has missing controls in IE only. Other browsers work fine.
The video is initially added to the page using the AC_FL_RunContent() function. The issue is that when I try to add the "removed" video back to the page by calling AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase'... The page refreshes and shows only the video. Everything else has disappeared. How can I prevent that from happening?
trying to call a PHP page from my flash movie and I would like to print the return to flash.[code]I placed the flash movie and the php file in the same folder on my website, but when I click the button in the flash movie, my website hangs while transferring data. So, I never see the PHP return.I would also be interested in information on how to do this via Flash/XML. I am using swishmax2 just in case it matters.
I am using flash cs3, I am loading an external swf file into my application (the loaded file is in mx2004 format, in which I have a button). Now on clicking on that button i want to call a method which is there inside flash cs3.
Is it possible to call javascript functions inside flash (as3)? How about not in the same domain? Can you provide an example snippet for samedomain and not same domain?
i'm using captivate 5 to create an elearning project, due to captivates limited animation abilities i created a menu bar in flash and imported it into captivate as an swf. The menu bar has a glossary listing that whne clicked calls upon another swf which is a glossary.
The problem is that the glossary swf doesnt pop up when the glossary listing is clicked inside of captivate. The menu bar works perfectly outside of captivate. the glossary is already made in AS3. So my question is can you call a nested swf within captivate?
I'm trying to pass a variable through a function, but I'm getting it's value 0. Here's my code:
thumbLoader.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goToCategory); function goToCategory(e:MouseEvent) { trace(c);[code]....
this trace gives me value of 0. Normally I would do goToCategory(c) and inside that category I would get it's value, but in this case I'm calling this function with an event, how can that be done?
var c is declared globally, so I'm using it above this code in different place... is there smth like global $c like in PHP.. or there's some other way to do it?!
How can I use sendAndLoad to call a php page with flash, and have that page create a user download box, to save a txt file? I have the php code that outputs a text file:
Code: Header('Content-Type: application/octet-stream'); Header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=test.txt'); // Print the text to be sent echo "hi";
That would force a download box if you ran the php page but the send and load will not get it to work.
