I'm looking for a good jQuery plugin that allows HTML5 video playback, with graceful fallback to Flash (and potentially further, to default system player, etc). I've googled, but nothing I've found has been quite what I'm looking for.

What are the difference between using an AJAX or JQuery upload plugin vs. using a Flash upload plugin for browser uploads, especially as it relates to the uploading of very large fies (1-2GB). Is there any reason to go with one over the other?

I am a web designer and I do like to hand code using jquery however, I think it would be much faster to use gui applications like flash to create animations especially on the fly as well as support for writing and editing source code.

I'm using the HTML5 JW Player. It sizes the HTML5 video correctly, but shrinks the Flash fallback player; here's an example page: Test Page
If you view that page in IE, you'll notice that on panel 5, the video is smaller than the space it's supposed to occupy. On Firefox, it works fine because it's using the OGG video in its HTML5 video player.Is there a way to resize the Flash video via JavaScript/jQuery to fit the same space as the HTML5 video?

I've seen something like 3rd party software that works along with the Flash Player and extends its functionality. For example: video decoding, opening external files, etc. How such things can be built? Any useful info and maybe links...

I have standalone Flash Builder 4 which I downloaded as a trial and then later plugged in the license key. When I try to add Eclipse plugins by going to menu, Install New Software, the dialog for "Available Software" is broken. It looks very different from the same dialog in Eclipse, and it has no way to add update sites, etc.

Operating System - Windows 7, 64 bit Web Browsers - Mozilla Firefox, Version 3.6.6 Microsoft Internet Explorer, 32 bit, Version 8.0 Flash Player Version 10.1 For some reason, the new version of Skype is playing havoc with my Flash Player plugins for both Firefox and Internet Explorer.
I downloaded and installed the latest Skype software today and noticed immediate problems. Skype was not responding and the Flash Player plugins on both browsers began crashing. I uninstalled both Skype and the Flash Player plugins. I then restarted my computer and reinstalled the Flash plugins. Functionality was restored to the Flash plugins in my browsers. I then reinstalled Skype. It was immediately non-functional and my Flash plugins started crashing again.I am now at the point where I have reinstalled the Flash plugins again and functionality is restored. I know if I try to install Skype, the Flash plugins will crash again.

I am creating flash uploader and want to start 10 uploadings at time.But flash upload only 2 files on domain at time, other references wait for something.In IE with ActiveX Player limitation is about 6 files at time.Is there any ideas how to change this limitation? For uploading I need to use FileReference.upload without creating URLRequest object from file data.

I've looked high and low for an answer to this and I'm hoping someone has an answer, or at least a tip on how to avoid it.I'm loading a static HTML file into a container via the jQuery load() method. This static HTML file has a script which loads a swf. When I load that particular file, I get the white screen of death (WSOD) and the page explodes and everyone in the room dies a horrible death.I've had this happen also when using the jQuery wrap methods (wrap, wrapOuter, etc.) when a swf is present.It seems manipulating the DOM with a container that has a swf object causes this. Does anyone have a solution or a way that I can prevent it happening?

I'm setting up a page that uses a flash menu to load html pages into a div container by the following call:
on (release){
getURL("javascript:getPage('test.html')");
}
The loading works fine, but some of my pages had specific jquery scripts and that's where I've struck out so far. I assumed all I needed to do was transfer the script importations, css stylesheets and the jquery functions to my main document, but it won't work.
I also tried importing the html as a the complete html, which works on it's own, but not when imported into the main document. Most recently I heard I should try shifting the jquery function calls to the end of the loaded document, to after the content, My scripts work, just not when imported, so I suppose my question is how can I make the main- and imported documents play nice with each other? What say you we make this a jump-start tutorial for all us noobs to reference?

I am having some trouble with a uploading app am making. First of it works great in IE 8(and7) but when I try it in Firefox og Crome it seems to not be able to upload the file complete. The problem seems to lie with the FileReference. I am using a php script in the backend, and when I try to logg it, as I said it works perfectly with IE, but when I use FF or Crome, I get to log the $_FILE, data but nothing ever makes it to the temp folder. I've checked every php and apache log I can find, and I know there is not a problem with space, of the temp dir. So the only thing I can figure is that the FileRefernce dosen't send the complete file in FF and chrome.
Code:
import fl.events.*;
import flash.events.*;
import flash.net.FileReference;
import flash.net.FileReferenceList;
var selectedFileArray:Array = [];
[Code] ......

Aside from using browser headers, I want to blacklist/whitelist browser and plugins from my site so that I can prevent these older unpatched systems from (1) being a general user of my site (2) removing those 'targets' from would-be-attackers reach.Is there a standard way to use Whitelisting or Blacklisting to control browser access to my site? For example, I want to prevent any browser that has outdated Flash, but I want to permit them if they have no Flash at all.

Can you use the FileReference.upload() function to upload files to Sharepoint or do I have to use the SP web services? This is without adding your own ASP.NET Web Services, just using the built in SP Web Services.

Okay, so I am calling my scripts from the folder "php/" Thus, my FileReference calls "php/upload.php" to upload. However, my uploads are in "uploads/" and not in "php/uploads". When the PHP script is called, it apparently ignores the caller (the SWF file) and looks for uploads in its own directory (the "php/" folder). It may be a PHP question, but how do I reference the uploads folder as being in the parent directory of the php files in my PHP script?

I am using a PHP upload to upload files to server. I have a loop for the 5 files to upload....
ActionScript Code:
if (PDFFiles[i] != false){
PDFFiles[i].upload(uploadPHP);
}
As the loop runs quicker than PHP can upload, the success of....
ActionScript Code:
function fileUploaded(e:DataEvent):void {
trace "Success"}
....can get out of synch. It doesn't cause me any real problems but is this bad form? Or am I better to upload one file the wait for the PHP to return success before uploading the next one?

I used jquery tools tooltip and I positioned icons 30 px under flash banner. The problem is when I hover icons, tooltips hide under flash banner , I gave high z-index to the tooltip div or other parent div in order position that above flash banner, but no difference. At the bottom picture , The green section is flash file and as you can see part of tooltip is hidden.
