Jquery :: Body Replacement When Flash Is Messing Around
Dec 20, 2010
I'm trying to replace some contents in a website by using the following code:[code]The problem is that I have some flash embedded on the DOM and whenever I try to do the replacement the browser crashes.Somebody should thing that a prepend or append in the right place should be a better method
to achieve this, but the elements I'm trying to locate and replace are html comments and the append prepend methods do not seem to work with this kind of nodes so they have to be treated as literal strings.
how to execute the code below from a javascript funtion when the body unloads this is a flash function but I would like it executed from a js function.
How can I display alternate HTML with the jquery.swfobject plugin for browsers without Flash? I'm unable to find any documentation or examples showing how to do this.
I am a web designer and I do like to hand code using jquery however, I think it would be much faster to use gui applications like flash to create animations especially on the fly as well as support for writing and editing source code.
I'm using the HTML5 JW Player. It sizes the HTML5 video correctly, but shrinks the Flash fallback player; here's an example page: Test Page
If you view that page in IE, you'll notice that on panel 5, the video is smaller than the space it's supposed to occupy. On Firefox, it works fine because it's using the OGG video in its HTML5 video player. Is there a way to resize the Flash video via JavaScript/jQuery to fit the same space as the HTML5 video?
hello everybody. I have a very weird problem. Recently my Flash IDE started to mess up dimensions. I mean when I create a new document or a rectangle for example, even if I set the height and width to the same value the height is always bigger than the width... I tried re-installing Flash CS4 again but that didn't solve the problem...
We are currently looking at developing flash based applications (using Flex) in a web application. We are now leaning towards to use SVG rapheljs for developing this components. The questions are: Is still SVG platform is widely adopted by browsers (without any plug-ins) are at least down the line of 8-10 months, any adoption is expected by browsers? Cross-browser support is god for us. Is SVG can replace for a small time animation based programming instead of Flash
I'm working on a AS3 and Box2D game with moving platforms. The platforms are animated in Flash, and in actionscript I can read in their current position and adjust the physics bodies to match. However, there's always a delay, where the animation is one frame ahead of the physics. I wanted to fix this by reading in the clip's current position, storing it for later, and then putting the clip back to its position at the last frame.
But when I do this, it systematically refuses to budge. I coded up a simple test with a single moving box to test the idea, and I get the same problem ("movingBox" is a symbol that animates a single "box" symbol within it):
I'm using the .sortOn() function in AS3.0 to sort an array with multiple elements.First, I push the values to the array, like this:[code] The program has a number of "loops" it goes through. So, I push data to this array (which is global) a first time, sort it, and then later I clear the array with the .shift() function in conjunction with a for loop. I then push new data to the array with the same line of code mentioned above. But what's happening is this: on the first round, everything works great, and this is what my output looks like:[code]Before I cleared the array with for loop and .shift(), it would say "Northern Alberta & Prairies" in ALL array slots. Since I started using the .shift() function I managed to get BC to remain, but it's still clearing my southern alberta entry.
I have a Flash movie (.swf) file embedded within a webpage.I am looking to have an image display if the user does not have Flash installed or has it turned off.
I have a website that has a Flash banner. For devices that do not support Flash (like iPads) I want to display an image instead. What is the best practice to deal with this situation? Should this be handled from the front-end with JavaScript?Should this rather be handled from the back-end? (I am using Java on the back-end)
I have used loadXMl.as file for XML to Object conversion till date. I am now converting the framework from AS1 to AS3.
Is there any alternate in AS3 for XML to Object conversion other than using the XML class. I am facing a lot of problems with XML class which I am not used to.
Here is the example
[Code].....
though I expect it to show undefined as the tag does not exist in the XML file.
I want to do something like this:"3*4".replace(/([0-9]+)[*]([0-9]+)/g, String(Number("$1") * Number("$2")))And no, i don't want to do that, but something more complex.
I would like to offer free apps in the Apple App Store, with the apps being ported versions of already existing, Flash-based websites I have created for clients. The website and the app would offer the same experience and mostly the same functionality, for example the portfolio of a company or artist.iPhone and iPad Visitors of the Flash-based website would be informed that there is no Flash available and they would instead be offered a link to the free app in the App Store.Since the clients obviously do make whatever kind of buisness and profit in the physical world, I am afraid that such an app might be considered free advertisement and be rejected from the store. So, is the approach violating Apple's terms and conditions? Is it realistic to offer free apps of that kind on a regular basis, for example as a Flash-focussed agency with many existing clients and projects?
I've got a fun problem for ya'll. I've got an XML flash menu with sub menus and all. When you click and menu item with a sub menu, the menu expands nicely. When you click to navigate to a new page the menu "closes" to its basic appearance...
What I'm trying to do is have the menu expanded at the appropriate point automatically if you're on a sub menu page. I've been thinking how to do this and I'm guessing CSS would be the key. Could the flash menu detect a BODY ID and expand appropriately should it detect the right body id.Check out the ZIP file for source files HTML/CSS/FLASH/XML.
I've looked high and low for an answer to this and I'm hoping someone has an answer, or at least a tip on how to avoid it.I'm loading a static HTML file into a container via the jQuery load() method. This static HTML file has a script which loads a swf. When I load that particular file, I get the white screen of death (WSOD) and the page explodes and everyone in the room dies a horrible death.I've had this happen also when using the jQuery wrap methods (wrap, wrapOuter, etc.) when a swf is present. It seems manipulating the DOM with a container that has a swf object causes this. Does anyone have a solution or a way that I can prevent it happening?
I'm setting up a page that uses a flash menu to load html pages into a div container by the following call:
on (release){ getURL("javascript:getPage('test.html')"); }
The loading works fine, but some of my pages had specific jquery scripts and that's where I've struck out so far. I assumed all I needed to do was transfer the script importations, css stylesheets and the jquery functions to my main document, but it won't work.
I also tried importing the html as a the complete html, which works on it's own, but not when imported into the main document. Most recently I heard I should try shifting the jquery function calls to the end of the loaded document, to after the content, My scripts work, just not when imported, so I suppose my question is how can I make the main- and imported documents play nice with each other? What say you we make this a jump-start tutorial for all us noobs to reference?
This clients site has a flash menu, but the content of the page is in html. I know how to write the actionscript so that each menu button links to a different html page. However, I would also like the flash menu to show each page buttons link as "Active" when its on that certain page. For example, I'm on the home page. The "home" link in the flash menu is hilited. I click "products", and the products.html loads. I'm not sure how to write the actionscript so that the "products" link in the flash menu is now hilited. The only way I know to do it, would be to create a different menu.swf for each page. But I'm sure there's a way to do it using only one menu.swf.
Also, I'm doing the menu.swf on a timeline in the fla. I'm not sure how to do it otherwise or if what I need can be done on a timeline.
I've got a simple YouTube API client put together, written in Flex, that uses a plain ol' URLRequest object to handle Google's "ClientLogin" authentication scheme. Everything works perfectly, except for one case: when Google responds with a 403 and a response body indicating that I should prompt the user for additional information (specifically, a CAPTCHA request).
The problem I'm having is that in this case, I need to be able to retrieve the body of the 403 response, as the body contains information Google expects me to use to assemble the CAPTCHA (e.g., an image URL, etc.). It looks like Flash fails to populate the URLLoader's data property when it encounters a 403 (which is where the response body would normally show up), so I can't tell the difference between a "403: Login Failed" and a "403: Login Succeeded, but We Want a CAPTCHA".
As a backup, I figured I'd have a look at as3crypto's TLSSocket code, but I haven't been able to make any of that stuff work with Google (or even one of my own SSL certs, for that matter).
Is it possible to access the body ofa 403 response with Flash (and if so, how)? And if not,Does anyone have personal experience with a suitable workaround?
Is it possible to modify a shape within a body after assigning it, for example I have a box shape for my game hero body, and when I press the down arrow I want my hero to crouch witch means that I need the body shape to be resized.
I've already searched in google but it appears that the topic of modyfing shapes is not so popular. If it's impossible maybe you know a better way of doing this.
I'm trying to streamline my error reporting for internal testing. When I use URLLoader/URLRequest to load a page that responds with the 500 HTTP status code, I catch it with the IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, but can't find a way to get the response body. Unlike with Event.Complete, loader.data (My URLLoader) is an empty string.
Yes, I can use Fiddler/Firebug to get the actual response, but this would be good to catch intermittent/hard-to-reproduce errors when I don't have these running.
I'm trying to create spinning shapes floating in space. There is still gravity in the environment, however it should not affect these platform objects because they are static (right?). How can I apply a constant angularVelocity to it though? It doesn't seem to apply when I assign it a value, probably due because it's static.
The simplest example would be a spinning gear, an automated teeter-totter (not influenced by external forces). All I'm trying to make is a spinning rectangle that could interfere with a ball controlled by the user.Do I need to use Joints to pin it in place? How can I specify the details of not being influenced by the dynamic objects?
I need to send an email from flash alongwith the Subject and Body data. When i do the testing in Flash by pressing "Cntrl + Enter" and click on the email button it works properly i.e. it opens an outlook new mail window and the To, subject and BOdy fields are filled with the data that I am sending from flash.
Now when an close the Flash application and open the folder in which the swf is published and run the swf then mailto funcionality does not work properly. i.e. it just fills the To field and reamaining fileds like subject and body are empty!I finally need to embed this swf in html file so the feature should work embedded in html also.
I have a main character in my Box2d game that has a b2PolygonShape collision. When the player crouches I am changing the body to a smaller b2PolygonShape. The logic works fine, but when I change the size (height) of the collision the character starts to fall.
Is it possible to create the new body with an offset (localPosition?) so the position of the body stays the same? This way I can play the crouch animation and change the collision without worrying that the position will change and make my sprite go bananas.
