I have a main character in my Box2d game that has a b2PolygonShape collision. When the player crouches I am changing the body to a smaller b2PolygonShape. The logic works fine, but when I change the size (height) of the collision the character starts to fall.
Is it possible to create the new body with an offset (localPosition?) so the position of the body stays the same? This way I can play the crouch animation and change the collision without worrying that the position will change and make my sprite go bananas.
I'm using sensors in a Box2D project. On a collision with a sensor, I'd like to know the sensor's position in the world. I'm detecting the collision with a contact listener, but the sensor's position is always 0 0.
From my code: (edit, added the whole class) public class MyContactListener extends b2ContactListener { public var onSensorEvent:Function; override public function BeginContact(contact:b2Contact):void { if(contact.GetFixtureA().IsSensor()) { var ud1:GameEntity = contact.GetFixtureA().GetBody().GetUserData(); [Code] .....
I posted earlier about getting a zoom effect which was solved by putting the content within 2 containers: the parent container to center the zooming & the pan container (child) to be panned on drag, however when I drag the child a copy of the original remains for some reason?basically I have this to set up the containers:
ActionScript Code: ParentContainer = new Container(); addChild(ParentContainer);
I've got a fun problem for ya'll. I've got an XML flash menu with sub menus and all. When you click and menu item with a sub menu, the menu expands nicely. When you click to navigate to a new page the menu "closes" to its basic appearance...
What I'm trying to do is have the menu expanded at the appropriate point automatically if you're on a sub menu page. I've been thinking how to do this and I'm guessing CSS would be the key. Could the flash menu detect a BODY ID and expand appropriately should it detect the right body id.Check out the ZIP file for source files HTML/CSS/FLASH/XML.
This clients site has a flash menu, but the content of the page is in html. I know how to write the actionscript so that each menu button links to a different html page. However, I would also like the flash menu to show each page buttons link as "Active" when its on that certain page.For example, I'm on the home page. The "home" link in the flash menu is hilited. I click "products", and the products.html loads. I'm not sure how to write the actionscript so that the "products" link in the flash menu is now hilited. The only way I know to do it, would be to create a different menu.swf for each page. But I'm sure there's a way to do it using only one menu.swf.
Also, I'm doing the menu.swf on a timeline in the fla. I'm not sure how to do it otherwise or if what I need can be done on a timeline.
I've got a simple YouTube API client put together, written in Flex, that uses a plain ol' URLRequest object to handle Google's "ClientLogin" authentication scheme. Everything works perfectly, except for one case: when Google responds with a 403 and a response body indicating that I should prompt the user for additional information (specifically, a CAPTCHA request).
The problem I'm having is that in this case, I need to be able to retrieve the body of the 403 response, as the body contains information Google expects me to use to assemble the CAPTCHA (e.g., an image URL, etc.). It looks like Flash fails to populate the URLLoader's data property when it encounters a 403 (which is where the response body would normally show up), so I can't tell the difference between a "403: Login Failed" and a "403: Login Succeeded, but We Want a CAPTCHA".
As a backup, I figured I'd have a look at as3crypto's TLSSocket code, but I haven't been able to make any of that stuff work with Google (or even one of my own SSL certs, for that matter).
Is it possible to access the body ofa 403 response with Flash (and if so, how)? And if not,Does anyone have personal experience with a suitable workaround?
I'm trying to replace some contents in a website by using the following code:[code]The problem is that I have some flash embedded on the DOM and whenever I try to do the replacement the browser crashes.Somebody should thing that a prepend or append in the right place should be a better method to achieve this, but the elements I'm trying to locate and replace are html comments and the append prepend methods do not seem to work with this kind of nodes so they have to be treated as literal strings.
Is it possible to modify a shape within a body after assigning it, for example I have a box shape for my game hero body, and when I press the down arrow I want my hero to crouch witch means that I need the body shape to be resized.
I've already searched in google but it appears that the topic of modyfing shapes is not so popular. If it's impossible maybe you know a better way of doing this.
I'm trying to streamline my error reporting for internal testing. When I use URLLoader/URLRequest to load a page that responds with the 500 HTTP status code, I catch it with the IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, but can't find a way to get the response body. Unlike with Event.Complete, loader.data (My URLLoader) is an empty string.
Yes, I can use Fiddler/Firebug to get the actual response, but this would be good to catch intermittent/hard-to-reproduce errors when I don't have these running.
I'm trying to create spinning shapes floating in space. There is still gravity in the environment, however it should not affect these platform objects because they are static (right?). How can I apply a constant angularVelocity to it though? It doesn't seem to apply when I assign it a value, probably due because it's static.
The simplest example would be a spinning gear, an automated teeter-totter (not influenced by external forces). All I'm trying to make is a spinning rectangle that could interfere with a ball controlled by the user.Do I need to use Joints to pin it in place? How can I specify the details of not being influenced by the dynamic objects?
how to execute the code below from a javascript funtion when the body unloads this is a flash function but I would like it executed from a js function.
I need to send an email from flash alongwith the Subject and Body data.When i do the testing in Flash by pressing "Cntrl + Enter" and click on the email button it works properly i.e. it opens an outlook new mail window and the To, subject and BOdy fields are filled with the data that I am sending from flash.
Now when an close the Flash application and open the folder in which the swf is published and run the swf then mailto funcionality does not work properly. i.e. it just fills the To field and reamaining fileds like subject and body are empty!I finally need to embed this swf in html file so the feature should work embedded in html also.
I have simple image gallery, where images are placed one next to another and the mask is revealing only one of them. Now I want to tween position of the images, but when I do that the mask is "traveling" alongside with the images..
So I'm trying my hands on some full browser flash and after reading a couple of tuts I wrote this
Code: #include "mc_tween2.as" Stage.scaleMode = "noScale"; stageListener = new Object();[code]...
The trace's are because it didn't work like I thought it would.Etc the middle movieclip didn't center itself but rather positioned itself seemingly how it pleased so I traced its x position and the var stageXcenter position and like suspected it shows different values.
1. Static var(an Array) stored in a class. 2. You create a variable reference to the static class in a separate class. 3. Splice some items from the reference variable in the separate class. 4. Trace the static class and the items have been removed from that too. 5. Verify several times. 6. Get confused. 7. Post on Kirupa.
Ok, so I have a bit of a mess here (Which I'm probably not doing right anyway, which could be my problem...). I have a document class, I'll call it as Body.as, that creates an object from another class known as Headgear.as. There are also other objects created from other classes, or will be in the future. Now, amoung all this, Headgear.as and all of the other classes Body.as will use to make objects require the use of dragging functions (starting and stopping dragging). On stopping drags, position checks are then made to compare a particular hidden movieclip with the dragged MC.
To try and save myself some hassle (from making the same functions over and over to ensuring that when the objects are created I don't need to send a complete crapload of variables just to ensure the position checking function would work), I had the functions for the event listeners (Which are set-up on the draggable MCs in Headgear.as) just direct to functions in Body.as
If I created a static method. say I decide to call on other methods within that static method. Do those methods I call on need to be static as well? what If I used some of the properties. Not to store data permanently, but just within that process. Do those properties need to be static ??
Yesterday I found myself wondering, what is the difference between either having a class with methods that are all static, or simply giving your class the static attribute?
Alright, so I have a class that is linked (via the linkage panel) to a scrollbox class. I'll paste the class here:[code]Ignoring the formatting, the commented out functions are the ones causing the issue. Adobe says that it's a static class and I can't use non-static functions. The way I wanted to use it was:
1. Call the page button generating function above.
2. In the main code in my program is this line:scrollbox.setClickFunction(historyContent.generate Page);So when the buttons that are supposed to be generated are clicked, the scrollbox class can call the History pages generatePage function and pass it which page to show. (I did this because there was a lot of text and a limit on how much would display, so small chunks sounded logical).
3. In the onClick function (which I haven't finished yet because the rest wont work), when you click one of the buttons it calls the set function. Its that simple.
I'm working on a Flash AS2 application that needs to post JSON data to a web service.In previous projects, I've used LoadVars.send() or LoadVars.sendAndLoad() successfully to manage this:
var send_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); send_lv.data = JSON.stringify({some json object}); var response_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); response_lv.onData = function(rawdata) {
[code]....
In somepage.php, I can grab that JSON data using $_POST['data'].However, on this project, the developer of the web service requires the JSON content to be the BODY of the request (i.e., not a name/value pair). Is this possible with LoadVars?
I am trying to create the code for a navigation in Actionscript 3, but I get the error "Function has no body". And the test just plays over and over without stopping?
Ive been advised to do the this to get rid of borders within my HTML page [code]Im new to flash so im unsure where the body line of My HTML.is and where to paste the command
I m using URLLoader to send a post request. The server returns HTTP code 404 in case the parameters are wrong, and puts the error message in the response body.Get resoinse body when URLLoader gets 404
The problem is that if the response has code 404, the IOError listener is called and I can't see the body of the response.
Is there a way to tell the URLLoader to ignore HTTP codes and always call the Completed listener?
Or maybe there is a way to get the response body in the IOError listener throw the IOErrorEvent? I couldn't find such a way.
