By default Firefox opens urls set to 'new window' in a new firefox tab instead. This works fine in Firefox but in IE it doesnt work, I then change the /v/ in the youtube link with /p.swf?video_id= and now I have the window open showing the small youtube thumbnail of my video but once a click play, nothing happens, I check it and is not loading anything.

In Flex Air app, how do you open a window behind an active one?

With this code, I would expect window1 to open behind the main app window and, in 3 seconds, window2 would open behind window1. But if you execute this, window1 will open on top of the main window and window2 will open on top of window1 and the main app will retain focus. This seems like a bug in the Flex. If so is there any workaround for this problem?

I would like to be able to open a specific browser and then go to a URL. What I mean is if the user has a Flash website open in IE I need for them to click on a button and this will open the link in Firefox. Is this possible?
Background...Our company uses Internet Explorer 6 as it's main browser on all employee PC's and for technical reasons IE cannot be updated. The problem is that the website App that I want to open has to be opened in a modern browser, the App will not run on an old browser such as this. Firefox is installed on all PC's, for this reason, but I cannot be sure the user has opened my website up in Firefox therefore I must check that they are using Firefox if not then it has to be opened first.

The problem is that Firefox blocks the new window from opening, and I don't know how to solve it. Is there a work around to the getURL Firefox issue? I am having trouble getting Firefox to open my file from my exe when FF is set to my default browser. If FF is already open, the getURL functions fine. If FF is closed, I have to click on my button twice in order to open the file (ie, click once opens a blank window, click again and the file opens) I have FF 2.0.0.1, Flash MX 2004 Prof. I have tried setting an interval to have the getURL fire again but I can't seem to get it to work.

close the web browser (including the swf document) and to open another webpage in a new browser. I have looked around and nothing seems to work with Firefox (because of java security). While I know a user could disable this java security, it is obviously not practical to ask every one who visits the site to so and was curious if there is a way to do this same operation with Firefox?

With selenium I'm currently automating tests for a website having flash elements for user inputs. While everything works fine when executing these tests on my computer locally, it fails to load the embeded flash if I start selenium on a remote Windows XP machine.
However, the flash just loads fine if I start the tests while I'm logged in via remote desktop.
This leads me to the assumption that whithout any desktop environment loaded or user logged in the firefox window is treated just as though it was minimized or the current tab was inactive, which I know prevents flash from loading until that window/tab is activated.if there is a way to enable firefox to load flash even if it's not currently displayed in an active window?
