Python :: Including Flash Content Inline In A Custom Weblog?
Aug 1, 2010
I'm trying to think of a way to place Flash content into a blog post so that it appears inline between paragraphs. I'm writing a custom weblog application in Django (still learning) and I'll be using SWFObject for the embedding.The blog is for me only so the back-end isn't too fancy. I'm simply using Django's built in admin interface. No TinyMCE rich text editor (like Wordpress), rather I've implemented Markdown.I'd like to add Flash content into the body of a post, between paragraphs, in a way that is not coupled to any third party script. Meaning, I would prefer not to include javascript within the body of the blog post as it introduces a dependency on SWFObject. For example, I could quite easily add the following to an entry via the back-end to embed a SWF inline:[code]As you can see this is quite wordy and a lot to remember but it also refers to SWFObject directly. This WILL work, however I would prefer to write it in a "cleaner" more abstract way. What I was thinking of doing is creating my own parser which would translate a custom string into the above just before rendering a template.
Working on a site where I want site admins to be able to upload swf and/or flv files inline in a content's body together with text,images, etc. I'm currently using the WYSIWYG module (with CKEditor). Basically, what I need is something like [URL] but for flash content. I've looked for something similar but without success.
i need a simple python lib that check the uploaded files to my webserver are flash media (FLV), by reading the flv header (metadata) and not the mimetype extension.
I experience strange behavior of sockets in Python (3.2). Client connects to my application using Flash. Most of the time there is nothing unusual but sometimes python crashes in a way that should not have taken place - enter into infinite loops. Below I attach to the loop code and error message in the log. Python hang on bytesRecived = sock.recv(64) and receive b'' witch is visible in log.
Does Adobe Flash expose any Automation or hosting interfaces through COM or a DLL in %systemroot%system32? I'm working with Python and wxWidgets to host a flash application to monitor lunar phases.
I have a few custom classes stored in AS files. Is it possible to have these classes imported another way from using the following method:
Code: import ClassFile;
I want to have the AS files loaded from a server (policy file created for inter-domain talk) into to flash. Also I want it to work, if a person downloads the main SWF and plays it on their compy,i want the class files to be loaded from [URL] and so on.
I'm using Google Engine App with Python. I want to add custom user authentication. How is it done, with the best practices? I want custom authentication because the app is built in Flex and I don't want to redirect to an HTML page.
The user value object is like this: class User(db.Model): email = db.EmailProperty(required = True, indexed = True) masked_password = db.StringProperty(required = True) # maybe more things here
I would like to mask the password, is there some built in function in GAE? Then, how I will remember the current user? Through sessions and cookies? Or what else?
I have developed a small website in flash 8 ... - The website has content (text) which is loaded externally - The images are also called externally with 'loader' component - I have added a preloader at the beginning of my file But still when I loaded it on the server....the images and the content is coming slowly. Some way to load the whole file completely at the time of loading (including the external content)?
I am using python and webapp framework in app engine for backend and flex 4 for front end.I would like to pass a string form backend to front end, so i write the following code in the main.py:
I have created a flex application in the Python Gae sdk and I got the error 2048, so I put a crossdomain.xml under the static folder. The crossdomain.xml is following:
<?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd"> <cross-domain-policy> [code].....
However, I still got the error 2048. Therefore, I would like to know is anything I need to configure or miss in my case and how to fix the error.
I am creating a little map app where you are given information, video and images regarding different campuses in a university. I am using the customContent method to insert video player object into the infoWindow but when I do this it gets rid of my text content and becomes the only visible thing to the user. How Can I work around this and have both text and video in the infoWindow? Demo link
I want to create a custom executable which is similar to the Flash Projector to play swf content. The use case for this is the following: I have Ui components on the swf which exchange messages with my c++ cli executable for sending and receiving events.
If swf file is embedded in html it is easy to call ActionScript methods via ExternalInterface using JavaScript. Now I want to use the swf file outside of a browser and still be able to access its methods, but now I want to use Python to call ActionScript. Is it possible? There is so little information about it in the Internet. Probably I can use AMF (pyAmf) for this, can I?
I'm trying to find out if there is a way I could embed a Python back-end into an AIR application? I'm looking to employ an approach similar to the one outlined here to implement the business logic for my application, but additionally, I would like to provide the user with a single binary which they can load. I don't want the user to have to fire up a seperate server process to make this work.
I have a php/mysql backend which allows user to enter descriptions in a form. The editor is the Innova editor and automatically turns <strong> and <b> tags into <span style="font-weight: bold;">. When I retrieve the xml in flash cs3 and output it in a textfield the text paragraphs and all spacing is preserved however, bold and italics etc. don't render at all.
Is there any actionscript code or 3rd party libraries I can use with my fla to get this to render?
I have a navigation block set up in flash. Can someone please tell what the geturl script is to control external html pages loading into an inline frame?
I have a number of fancyboxes on a page (one in each repeateritem) which show inline flash when a button in the appropriate repeater is pressed.In Internet Explorer the fancyboxes open correctly and show the inline flash.
I'd like to embed a small flash file inside HTML, and I need to do so INLINE, if it were a image, I would do something like..<IMG SRC="data:image/gif;base64,RAAAtuhhx4dbgYKAAA7...more data....." ALT="could not load">The file is this one
I am new to xml content in flash. I have been through the kirupa tut for loading xml content and have been successful in implementing it, but I now want to implement it into a scrollbar so I can use css and img tags. I can get it to work using the UI scroll component, but I want to use a custom scroll bar. I get the XML to load fine but I have no clue where to stick in the firstChild.childNodes[0] so I can call to certain attributes within the XML document. Below is the AS for the custom scroll bar.
Code: stop(); holder_mc.setMask(mask_mc); var LV:LoadVars = new LoadVars(); LV.onData = function(info:String):Void { holder_mc._txt.text = info; [Code] .....
I've successfully implemented the scrollbar from this great tutorial for some banners, but when I get to my 300x250 banner, the content gets cut off and disappears at a certain point while scrolling. This is the tutorial: [URL]. I altered the pieces for two different sizes without needing to alter any code, but this size is suddenly giving me problems. My FLA is attached.
I have a Facebook application where you can create an animation and share it on your wall. Each feed has a swf player that lets users to play the animation directly on the wall. (like any shared video). As IOS does not support flash, I have also created a native IOS application for playing those animations.
These posts can't be played on IOS devices, when touched, 'Flash Player update required' placeholder is shown.
What I want to do is, to have an alternative link for iPads to play these feeds on my native IOS app (like fb://APP_ID/video_url).
Is it possible to provide a native IOS App url for inline swf feeds?
I am working with a cms tool, and I can't get my swf to find my external css file. Is there anyway I can embed the css in the swf without calling an external file? This is what my action script looks like, and it works from my desktop, but everytime I bring the swf into the cms tool, it doesn't work.

Is there a way to imprt a python program into flash, so that you would get what you would see in python, but in .swf file (I'd like to make a text-only game for Kongregate)
I am trying to create an automated program in Python that deals with Flash. Right now I am using Python Mechanize, which is great for filling forms, but when it comes to flash I don't know what to do. Does anyone know how I can interact with flash forms (set and get variables, click buttons, etc.) via Python mechanize or some other python library?
I'm trying to generate an embeded flash widget on a page with Python using a dynamic parameter. Here's the code I currently have.[code]...
The {{query}} parameter is passed through as a URL parameter. I'm not very technical, but I think the query value needs to be encoded for the flash to work. How do I encode the flash parameter?
