I have developed a small website in flash 8 ...
- The website has content (text) which is loaded externally
- The images are also called externally with 'loader' component
- I have added a preloader at the beginning of my file
But still when I loaded it on the server....the images and the content is coming slowly. Some way to load the whole file completely at the time of loading (including the external content)?
I'm creating a flash 3d website for a company. The idea is that there is one overall swf file - this holds the navigation and design. Once the user clicks on a button, it goes to frame 10, I have included the following script to load a swf file
the preloader works, but instead of going to frame 2 of that swf file, it goes to frame 2 of the overall swf that holds the navigation. Does anyone know how to get around this so that it goes to frame 2 in the same swf file as the preloader?
I have a main.swf file. In first frame i load a background slideshow with this code:
[Code]...
My problem is that when the site loads the 1st time and click from the menu to go to the 2nd frame (1st content page) then i have to wait at about 3-4 seconds to load my html content. The same for the 3rd frame. If these two content pages load for the 1st time, then the pages open immediately. What can i do for this? Is there a way to open this content pages more quickly, or place a loader, and with what code?
I load an external html content page through contents.xml file, in page.swf, which loads in main.swf like external file. The code of contents.xml is this:
I have three AS2 swf files main.swf - very simple swf file with three buttons (home,btn1, btn2)
1.swf - an swf file that is launched by the pressing of btn1
2.swf - an swf file that is launched by the pressing of btn2
Home button simply removes the loaded swf and shows btn1 and btn2.
If I launch main.swf and click btn1, then 1.swf loads fine. I click home and click btn2.. 1.swf still loads! When I close main.swf and reopen, click btn2, then 2.swf loads fine. I click home and click btn1.. 2.swf still loads! WTSDLFKJ@##@$
This is why I ask how to completely unload the swfs? I've tried every different way to unload Google could show me.. unload, unloadandstop, etc. I've tried loading 1/2.swf as a movieclip and URLRequest. I've tried using two separate containers and loaders. Still the same thing.. the first opened swf is the only one that will open unless I close main.swf, reopen and then click the OTHER button.
I should note that 1/2.swf are flip book style applications that load external .xml data.
So I am having a problem with the flash file at this site: [URL]
Everything is working fine, except for the preloader, which only seems to load after the entire file is 100% loaded, which leaves people who visit the site staring at a black screen for quite some time... The code on the preloader frames is as follows:
frame 1 (which has the background for the preloader/ actual load bar etc} var percent:Number = Math.floor(getBytesLoaded()/ getBytesTotal()*100); textBox.text = percent + "%"; textBox._alpha = 80;
[Code]....
Also, if you want to check out the actual program just click when you get to the main screen and click to create new shape (mouse x and y change opacity and speed respectivly) I'm using actionscript 2
Is there any way to embed Flash completely in HTML, without reference to an external SWF file? I ask because I would like to send an HTML file as an email attachment that the recipient will open in a browser and fill out as a form. The last step is that they will copy the result to their clipboard, paste it into a new message, and email it back. I cannot reliably copy to the clipboard with JavaScript because of the security issues, but there are simple Flash apps to add that capability.
I know I could just display the response text (which will be Base64 encoded) to the recipient and have them copy/paste, but it would be nice to provide this small convenience to them. Also, so you are aware, the text is often too large to include in an email using mailto. Yes. This needs to be done via email. The users have slow, occasional satellite email access and no other data connection to the interwebs. To make things worse, I cannot make them install anything. It is a difficult situation.
I'm trying to think of a way to place Flash content into a blog post so that it appears inline between paragraphs. I'm writing a custom weblog application in Django (still learning) and I'll be using SWFObject for the embedding. The blog is for me only so the back-end isn't too fancy. I'm simply using Django's built in admin interface. No TinyMCE rich text editor (like Wordpress), rather I've implemented Markdown.I'd like to add Flash content into the body of a post, between paragraphs, in a way that is not coupled to any third party script. Meaning, I would prefer not to include javascript within the body of the blog post as it introduces a dependency on SWFObject. For example, I could quite easily add the following to an entry via the back-end to embed a SWF inline:[code]As you can see this is quite wordy and a lot to remember but it also refers to SWFObject directly. This WILL work, however I would prefer to write it in a "cleaner" more abstract way. What I was thinking of doing is creating my own parser which would translate a custom string into the above just before rendering a template.
I turn to you for help, dear sweet Kirupa Forumites. First, let me explain the problem: I have a flash file reading an external text file for the content. Everything works perfectly for nearly everyone - you click a menu button, and the content text comes up fine. However, a couple of people have found that the text shows up as "undefined". I have checked the player versions of the people where it doesn't work, and it is the same as for those where it does work, so that ain't the problem.
I don't understand why it works perfectly for nearly everyone, but a small number of people have this "undefined" text problem. It seems to be a problem with loading the external text file, but I don't know why. I have a main flash movie, and load the text in the first frame, using the following:
var my_content = new LoadVars(); my_content.load("content.txt"); my_content.onLoad = function(success){ if (success){
[Code]...
I then have a couple of dynamic text boxes in the main movie - one called ErrorText (for displaying an error message to the user) and one called ContentText (for displaying the content). I use an external menu swf which jumps to a specific frame in the main movie, depending on which button is clicked. Actionscript on the main movie frame for the first button does the following, with the other frames similarly configured:
I have (for example) font embeder class, and I want to load external SWF not from application storage folder, but another local path ( "D:lah-blah123.swf") in AIR, but as you understand I can't find any decision on the Internet (Google, [URL])
I am having a strange problem with frame labels.I am using external swf. files to load content for my portfolio. The Work section contains thumbnails and once you click them they fade in at a larger size using Frame labels with AS2.[code]If you open URL... and click the thumbnails you can see it works perfectly fine. However if you go to the work section from the index URL... it no longer works. I have been trying at this all day but it does not seem to work once i upload to server :/all files (FLA , SWF, HTML )
The dilemma I currently have is that I'm hosting a resource that is application/octet-stream. In my Actionscript code, I'm using some library that ( from what I can recall ) does new Image and loads a resource into that object which was created. There is a method, loadImage(url) which accepts a url and that's where you feed it the path to the image.I do not have access to the loadImage source code, so I don't know exactly what it does, but the working one loads the image fine because the Content-Type is image/jpeg. The non-working one ( this one I'm trying to fix ) doesn't because of the different Content-Type.I'm wondering if someone can tell me if I can make the flash basically parse the URI as if it were image/jpeg, regardless of the Content-Type? [code]
I assume that Image the constructor is native to flash/AS, but I haven't been able to google the loadImage method so it must be custom, right?Or could the Image constructor itself be custom? An extended version of the original Image with loadImage method and such?Anyways, does anyone know how I can view the source code of loadImage? I did an ack-grep and found the source code for the loadImage method defined in a library:[code]Can anyone offer advice as to how I can do the loadBytes on this? I was thinking of defining a custom method, loadResource or something which can load regardless of Content-Type... or just create an optional parameter in the current load method and inside, branch out based on what was passed.
I can't seem to remove / unload the external swf files e.g when the carousel.swf (portfolio) is displayed and I press the about button the about content is overlapping the carousel (portfolio) . How can I remove / unload an external swf file from the main flash file and load a new swf file, while at the same time removing garbage collection from memory?
I am using FlashDevelop 4.0.1 RTM to create a simple Android app and I would like to ask how to include external assets (images, xml & sounds located inside the bin folder) to the apk package.
I am using the load command to load content from a .txt file on my server. I have it all working just find when I preview the swf file in flash and when I view the .swf in my web browser from my server. The problem when I view the .swf file on my php page (home.php) I only get undefined variables, it seems to not be able to connect to the .txt files only when I am viewing it on my php page. Again if I view the .swf file on my server using my web browser it works fine.
Using Flash CS4 Actionscript 2 Dreamweaver CS4 Google Chrome and Opera
I'm completely new to loading XML into Flash . I'm not very good with actionscript either, but I've managed to get pretty close to what I need to achieve via tutorials.[code]...
I'm having a "problem" with loading an external .swf in my main flash swf movie (which is a website). When the external .swf loads and displays itself on the main swf (website), the complete external swf file is viewable. To clarify: this external .swf has a world map that moves with a tween. If the animation is played within the main swf, I can see the whole world map and not just only that specific part of the world map that is visible on the "original" .swf
Make a mask over the complete external.swf? Where should i make the mask in the external .swf itself or on the movieclip in my main swf (website)?
where I can find a tutorial for a scroll bar and the content you are scrolling is loaded from a html file? I saw one where you can do it with a .txt file but you cant put images on it, so do you know if it is possible to load the content from a html file with images?
Under Visual Studio 2010, I'm developing an asp.net application.I added a folder to my project called Flash. Under Flash folder I added a swf file with its external resources to run. The folder content:
1- ScrollingImages.swf file to lunch the flash
2- ScrollingImages.xml file that the swf file uses to read images from thumbnails folder
3-thumbnails folder which content images used by swf file. I can embed the swf file to html easily using this code:
I'm constructing a website in flash, and on each page of the website I have a dymanic text field pulling data from a .txt file for that page, (the news page has a dymanic text field called "newsText" which pulls data from "news.txt" for example) The website im working on is here: [URL] If you have a slower internet connection, whenever you click on the link to a new page, a small white square will appear in the corner before the content has fully loaded, this white square is a result of the scrollbar being disabled due to the content not being loaded yet (and thus having nothing to define wether or not it should need to scroll)
as the website grows in content this will become more and more of a problem. My actionscript ability is really limited. So whats the simplest way I can add a preloader to the page to load the content of the .txt file before displaying it?
Structure: There is 1 main file that loads external SWF files depending on what is clicked on.One of the external SWF files loads its text from external text files. This works fine when viewing the SWF applet on its own. But when viewing as a whole site, the text doesnt appear. Very annoying.I made that particular SWF on my mums computer running Flash MX 2004The flash file itself uses the Scrollbar component from MX.Could someone tell me why the text doesnt load in this scenario? It runs fine on its own, just not as an external SWF.
I wanna create some sort of actionscripted typewriter which loads its content from an external file, but i can't seem to get the code to work properly!
This is what i got till now:
2 layers: - one with a textfield called 'textbox' - one with the actions
A textfile which contains: waarde=Wannaloadtextfromanexternaltextfile!
4 frames, in the first frame i load the textfile this way:
The problem is that when i assign the value of "text" in the first frame this way : <-- text = "Wannaloadtextfromanexternaltextfile!"; --> (witout the comment tags ofcourse) the typewriter works fine but when i load the var from the textfile nothing happens, the trace works fine and displays the contents of the var but the typewriter displays nothing.
the weird this is that when i add this after all the code in frame 1 it works fine: text = "azerty"; But when i add this it doesn't: text = "a";
So when i overwrite the var with the azerty value suddenly it contains the correct value in the next frame, when i assign only one character to it the script doesn't work anymore.
When i try to load an external swf file using Loader.Load(); The swf starts playing even before the init event is fired. Is there any way to stop the swf from playing atleast until the init event or complete event is fired?
i have banner with 5 images fad in fade out effecti need to load images & test from external file " text file or xml file " with keeping fade effects on imagesall ways i know can't keep fading effect on images so
All I'm trying to do is load an external .swf file into a precise location on the stage of my existing Flash file. I've spent an hour and a half on this site search and found nothing. What do I add to my loadMovie command to place the file at specific x,y coordinates?
