ActionScript 1/2 :: Add A Preloader To The Page To Load The Content Of The .txt File Before Displaying It?

I'm constructing a website in flash, and on each page of the website I have a dymanic text field pulling data from a .txt file for that page, (the news page has a dymanic text field called "newsText" which pulls data from "news.txt" for example) The website im working on is here: [URL] If you have a slower internet connection, whenever you click on the link to a new page, a small white square will appear in the corner before the content has fully loaded, this white square is a result of the scrollbar being disabled due to the content not being loaded yet (and thus having nothing to define wether or not it should need to scroll)
as the website grows in content this will become more and more of a problem. My actionscript ability is really limited. So whats the simplest way I can add a preloader to the page to load the content of the .txt file before displaying it?

I have a main.swf file. In first frame i load a background slideshow with this code:

My problem is that when the site loads the 1st time and click from the menu to go to the 2nd frame (1st content page) then i have to wait at about 3-4 seconds to load my html content. The same for the 3rd frame. If these two content pages load for the 1st time, then the pages open immediately. What can i do for this? Is there a way to open this content pages more quickly, or place a loader, and with what code?

I have a preloader that I downloaded... What I want to do is have this load only a certain percentage of the move before it continues to play the file.I assume that I have to edit the line of code that gets the total amount of bytes for the file itself... expressed below:

I have a desktop AIR app that sends vars to a php page, which then rewrites a new css style file. After the vars are uploaded, I set off a refresh function in AIR that refreshes an html display pane, so you can see the css style changes on the html page.I was working great, but since I have changed hosts, I find I have to send the vars twice to see changes.
I thought maybe the problem was that AIR was displaying the new page before php had a chance to write the new css file, but even after putting a 2 second delay timer on the refresh, the problem still exists.I have also made the refresh function URL request append date and time as in:

I have a loading bar in the first frame of my flashfile, but when I test it on the server, it shows always loading only 45% and then goes to the content page. I wonder how to make it so that it can load 100% and then goes to the content page?[code]...

I just tested out my site in Firefox and IE. Everything works the way I want it to in Firefox but in IE I'm having trouble. When I click on a button my preloader shows up but doesn't stop to load the content, it plays straight through and then my movie pops up. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I've never encountered this problem before.

I have a preloader that works fine, but when I reload the Internet explorer page with F5, it hangs, it basically stays there... keeps looping, but does not move to next scene.If I close the IE window and relaunch or if I clear cache it works fien again.Thsi is the AS3 code I am using:

I have been trying to figure out the best way to load content into a container on an .php page which has three different .swfs already loaded - one is an mp3 player which I do not want to stop playing (this will obviously happen on a page refresh). The objective is to keep a flash menu for navigation given it's nice animation capabilities, but load page content into a container underneath. There are JavaScript files out there that work in conjunction with php (ajax) to accomplish this, but once I throw flash into the mix everything goes sideways. I know you can include js with the ExternalInterface.call function, but this only solves the js portion not the php bit.

I have a .fla that has a preloader on frame one and the rest of the file on frames 2 thru 55. The preloader code is the one that comes in Flash cs5's sample files. there is a movie clip with the instance name lbar and text with the name lpc. here is the code

Under Visual Studio 2010, I'm developing an asp.net application.I added a folder to my project called Flash. Under Flash folder I added a swf file with its external resources to run. The folder content:
1- ScrollingImages.swf file to lunch the flash
2- ScrollingImages.xml file that the swf file uses to read images from thumbnails folder

I went through Claudio's preloader transition tutorial on kirupa ([URL]). I have tried to apply it to my own fla and everything seems to work fine EXCEPT I can't get any of the external swfs to load into the empty movie clip called "content". And yes, I have checked and rechecked to make sure that all MCs have instance names!

I have a master page and a child page and have placed the javascript code inside the child page for flash movie.
The problem is the movie seems working when there is a alert on, without at least one alert msg, the code does not work, I am sure you people can solve, I can see that the following code works well in both Mozilla and IE, but only if the alert is ON, if I put it off, then the code does not work. I am using the load command to load content from a .txt file on my server. I have it all working just find when I preview the swf file in flash and when I view the .swf in my web browser from my server. The problem when I view the .swf file on my php page (home.php) I only get undefined variables, it seems to not be able to connect to the .txt files only when I am viewing it on my php page. Again if I view the .swf file on my server using my web browser it works fine.

[URL] Above is a link to view the project I'm working on. Once the site loads if you go to the "Contact Us" page the content doesn't load correctly. I'm using an extrnal .xml and .css files for the content. I'm also embedding the fonts dynamicly. If I test the file locally on my computer is works fine the image loads as it's supposed to and content looks correct. However when I post the files to the server (which work exactly the same way) I get the white box when you can see from the link above. I'm at a complete loss as to how to to fix this.

- The website has content (text) which is loaded externally
- The images are also called externally with 'loader' component
- I have added a preloader at the beginning of my file
But still when I loaded it on the server....the images and the content is coming slowly. Some way to load the whole file completely at the time of loading (including the external content)?

So I am having a problem with the flash file at this site: [URL]
Everything is working fine, except for the preloader, which only seems to load after the entire file is 100% loaded, which leaves people who visit the site staring at a black screen for quite some time... The code on the preloader frames is as follows:
frame 1 (which has the background for the preloader/ actual load bar etc}

I have my preloader loading my main swf where I'm loading another swf that contains a background.
When my preloader is done it shows my main swf but it takes a while after that for the background to load.
Whats the easiest way to get my preloader to wait until the background swf is done loading?

I have created a preloader, and I want to tell the action script of the preloader once the file is done loading, put it away and load a new movie, or even a new flash file if i have to.here is the action script i have on the loader right now. Its just numbers counting from 1-100% and a .gif clip that plays but they are not connected in any way.

Also, my preloader ends on Frame 3 and movie would start on frame 4.

I have an as3 preloader on the main timeline of my project1.swf It works ok if I test the swf by itself, but when I try to load it into my portfolio file through component loader, the preloader doesn't do anything, it acts as if everything is loaded. I'd attached one preloader.zip file in that there is FLA and SWF file is there now when you run the source file after completing the preloader to 100% it load test.swf file, now you export the file to preloader.swf and when you will run the preloader.swf file it will run properly but when you put this preloader.swf file into html file and after that you open this html file what will happen that after loading 100% preloader it will not to load test.swf file from html file.
