ActionScript 3.0 :: Slideshow With Links - Incorrect Links After 1 Replay?
Aug 17, 2011i created a flash slideshow with pictures of events and link each picture with its own event (ie. each pictures has its own links to the website). I created the fade in and fade out effect using the class motion tween. With the link, I created a layer with a button that has alpha= 0 (so the user don't see it) and then I used code snippet to make another layer with the action script "click to go to url."
When the slideshow goes to the last picture I made it fade out and the first picture of the slideshow would show up and then the slideshow would replay itself (by default?). My goal is to make a continuous slideshow.
When I tested the swf file, the first time it runs, everything is right. The urls and the pictures are in correct order. However when the slideshow replays itself automatically, I notice that the links are incorrect. In the first play, when I click the picture of the event it would open the url of that event.However when the sldieshow replays, clicking the pictures would only open the url of the first event picture. When I click on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.pictures the browser opens only the link of the first picture of the slideshow.

Apr 21, 2011I've got a PHP script that searches for links in a block of text and converts them to HTML values. The $message variable is then entered into my database using a simple INSERT. So far, so good. Then I have Flash parse the message using XML:

The problem, however, is that my links don't work. The rollover works from the CSS styling, but the links don't actually go anywhere. When I rollover the links, the hand cursor doesn't appear, and clicking only serves to change the color back to the non-hover value.
Coding - Links Linking To Wrong...links?
Sep 14, 2009I'm writing some code in Flash MX 2004 and everything works fine except for the last button (4DSystemsProducts).According to the coding if none of the drop down buttons work it should go to products.php, but for some reason it goes to 4DSystemsProducts.php. All of the other menus are coded the same way and work fine, if I take out that button it works fine,or if I take out button 7 and switch 4DSystems to button 7 everything works.Here is the code to clear up this explanation. May 17, 2009I am trying to have multiple links off site but have hit a brick wall. If I have the code listed below, it opens the second link as soon as you open the links page, If I have the"function onLinkClick (evt)", above btn6_btn I end up with the duplicate error message. Is there a way to have multiple link buttons on a page. I have played with this for hours.

Center Swf In Dreamweaver?
Jul 28, 2009I have been looking all over the place for what seems like should be a really easy thing to accomplish.I have a swf that is 1060x630px and I would like to center it on the page... at the moment it just sits in the far left corner of the screen when I export it to html. Oct 15, 2009I have a flash site (finally) but I need to host it through dreamweaver. I cant do it. I tried loading it thru the media option and it gave me an error. I have a lot riding on this site and Im at the last step only to find some new obstacle in my way.

Is it possible to create a preloader for an swf file, inside a div tag within a Dreamweaver document?. Take my friends site for exampe, which I suspect is made entirely in Flash: [URL] When you,click on any button inside "portfolio", a preloader symbol appears ,but the movie does not procede without the control of the red next and previous buttons at the bottom right corner. How is this done?.
I am reluctant to design everything in Flash, is that I have heard search engines such as Google have trouble indexing website's that are made entirely from Flash. Or am I wrong in thinking this?.
Publishing Flash To Web With Dreamweaver
Aug 19, 2009CS3 on a 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo Mac running OS X 10.5.8.I have been able to create my webpages and upload them to the host. They are viewable, linkable etc. Everything is working, but now I want to include some flash elements.I built a flash file in action script 3.0 and saved it in the files folder of Dreamweaver, I dragged and dropped the swf file into the design screen and saved it. I have uploaded the html file, the swf and fla files and the created js file to the host server, but the flash element does not appear on the page when I view it in the browser.

I can finally create a few basic animations and want to test them out in the dreamweaver envoirment. What is the simplest path to accomplishing this? For example if I open flash, create a simple animation, like a ball moving across the screen. If I save that SWF, what's the next step after opening dreamweaver. I just want to be able to test it the site with dreamweaver or see it "live".

Feb 28, 2010I am having a nightmare time trying to get a flash 8 movie loading in a CS4 generated webpage. Basically the design is straight-forward enough. I have a master page which loads a swf into layer 10 (this is my custom "player skin" with a control button). This player swf loads a series of movies into layer 5 of the master in response to a users click. The problem is that the .swf works fine standalone, it works fine in a basic html document but when I embed it in my web page through dreamweaver only the master swf loads and it sits there like a bump on a log.

I am using Flash CS3 to design a site and wish to load image galleries in so as to keep the overall size of the site down, however I am using what I remember to have worked code wise:

The SWF is working perfectly on my computer but when I publish it using dreamweaver CS3 the movies don't load, they don't even show when in playback mode in DW.
Dreamweaver Is Stretching .swf File (Website)
Mar 1, 2011i'm trying to publish my website that I made entirely in flash CS5. Everything works perfectly when I publish the site in Flash, then upload the files to my server. I created the site on my 23' monitor, and when I view it on that computer, everything looks perfect, and works. However, I viewed the site from my laptop, and the site gets cutoff and the browser doesn't create a scroll bar so you cannot see everything.
To remedy this, I tried to use Dreamweaver to publish my site. Once again, it worked great on my 23' monitor, no problems what so ever. Viewed on my laptop once again, and now the browser creates the scroll bar. GREAT! However, now the entire site is stretched for some reason (but only when viewing it on the laptop). It seems to be a problem in Dreamweaver since when I viewed the Flash Plublished file, it didn't stretch the site.

I inserted an swf file into the dreamweaver site to do the following :The swf allows people donate money through paypal and then return to the main site. I need a step somewhere so that I can disable buttons after the paypal process has occurred. Kglad has suggested that I direct to a new swf file when coming back from paypal. This makes sense, however, do I disable the donate button on the new swf file and if so, how will the actionscript recognise the button instances ?

Jul 25, 2011I animated 4 flash buttons in one .fla file. When you rollover each button, an animation should play. However, when I preview the .swf in Dreamweaver, the rollover buttons only work HALF the time. I tried putting a preloader on the .fla file as well as toggling the quality to low in the original .fla, but it still only works half the time?
