I have a flash site (finally) but I need to host it through dreamweaver. I cant do it. I tried loading it thru the media option and it gave me an error. I have a lot riding on this site and Im at the last step only to find some new obstacle in my way.

can I add something to this php code to make sure the file is uploaded?

View 1 Repliesi'm trying to publish my website that I made entirely in flash CS5. Everything works perfectly when I publish the site in Flash, then upload the files to my server. I created the site on my 23' monitor, and when I view it on that computer, everything looks perfect, and works. However, I viewed the site from my laptop, and the site gets cutoff and the browser doesn't create a scroll bar so you cannot see everything.
To remedy this, I tried to use Dreamweaver to publish my site. Once again, it worked great on my 23' monitor, no problems what so ever. Viewed on my laptop once again, and now the browser creates the scroll bar. GREAT! However, now the entire site is stretched for some reason (but only when viewing it on the laptop). It seems to be a problem in Dreamweaver since when I viewed the Flash Plublished file, it didn't stretch the site.
I have a site designed in dreamweaver. I inserted an swf file into the dreamweaver site to do the following :The swf allows people donate money through paypal and then return to the main site. I need a step somewhere so that I can disable buttons after the paypal process has occurred. Kglad has suggested that I direct to a new swf file when coming back from paypal. This makes sense, however, do I disable the donate button on the new swf file and if so, how will the actionscript recognise the button instances ?
View 3 RepliesAfter turning my files to fla and creating swf I happy embedded them into an area in my Dreamweaver page. A grey space area appeared with a Flash icon. A command window open placing two files in a script folder and then I went to the browser (safari in this case) and there was my webpage with a white space where the Flash video should have been.

View 2 RepliesI have a SWF file in my Dreamweaver site, that plays correctly. The problem is that the stage is white and we would like it to be transparent. Searching the archives the following advice was given:
in your html embedding code you need to set the wmode parameter to be "transparent" I'm wondering if this is the code in Dreamweaver or is this done in Flash. I'm working with CS5. Below is the code that matches the SWF file in Dreamweaver. I did change the wmode value from "opaque" to "transparent" and it didn't work.

I embedded a SWF on a page and have checked it in Dreamweaver by selecting FILE | PREVIEW IN BROWSER. The page works just fine, video plays back and rollover button works perfect. I've then uploaded the SWF,FLV,html page and scripts to my server and when tested, the video wouldn't play. i have created an animation and when saved in notepad as an html file everything looks as it should when previewed in any browser, however when i paste the code into my site via dreamweaver the animation dose not appear.
View 22 RepliesI am using a trial version of CS5, and I'm wondering if this is the cause of my issue, but wouldn't think so.I am trying to display a video in a basic HTML file created in Dreamweaver.I am using flash to generate the .swf file to be embedded.I used the media encoder to convert the video file I have from .avi to .f4v.This all seems to work just fine and when I test the html file locally it works.The issue I have is when I load the files on a web server for further testing, it plays the video, but there are no controls visible on the page for the video.As stated above, they display correctly when I run this locally.I have also loaded the skin.swl file on the server in the same location as I have it locally.I have tried everything I can think of to try and can not get the controls to display while deployed on my web server.

Or can it work?

i have created a flash animation for my homepage, i want to make part of that flash animation a "enter" button so when clicked would go to my page 2 on my website.

If you have an .as file in the global include directory do you have to upload it to your server with the flash file or does it compile the flash file with the included info?
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to figure out if there is a way to allow a user to upload a file in the background and let them continue to interact with flash movie, while the file is being uploaded. E.g. if they are uploading a 50mb file, we don't want the whole interface to be locked up for 10 minutes while the file uploads, it's be great if they can continue to interact in the movie while the file uploads. I'm guessing if they refresh the page, or navigate away from the movie, that the upload process would get cut off and there isn't anyway around that. Couple of ideas I had:
1. My first thought is that we could use a popup window with a upload form in it. Which is simple, but not very cool.
2. Use some sort of ajax background uploader in conjunction with flash ... not sure exactly if this is possible.
I recently used Flash to create the header for my website. However, when I tried to upload my .fla file along with the .swf (which had no problem), I couldn't because the file format isn't supported. Is there any way I can get around this?
Also, I heard that you have to upload some .js file or something.

View 3 Repliesi have been wandering the internet for several days and can't find an answer to my file uploader nightmare, i just want to upload a file from flash via php, i have been using the FileReference class but as soon as i try to upload it nothing happens or at least it tells me its complete in super quick time but nothing has been uploaded and there has been no POST request fired i have checked my directorie paths and they are fine but no joy.
i proper want to get this to work, would be cool to finally get php working with flash for the first time.

I had to add a replay button at the end of my movie which I did according to my text and other tutorials I have read unfortunately my replay button is not working. Just realized I cannot upload my file as it is too large, can email them my file.
