I've been asked to re-design this website URL... but the client still wants to keep the tweening effect of the images merging into one another.Can anyone point me in the direction of a decent tutorial or some tips on the best way to go about it. I use Fireworks and Dreamweaver CS3 and I have very basic knowledge of Flash so I'm not afraid to use that application if I have to.
View 5 RepliesI have imported two images from PS to Flash in PNG format. They are the perfect size and ready to use (i.e. not scaling these images). When I convert them to movies, the animation looks great in Flash, but when I export them they only look good when I have the HTML settings set to "Best". If I don't have this setting on, it looks like crap (i.e. very jagged). These are photos btw, not vector images or shapes.
The reason I want this to be optimized without the control of HTML is because I am creating web banners for advertising. When I submit my swf file to the webmaster, they basically will embed the swf with whatever settings they choose. If they don't have the setting on "Best", the file looks like crap. Allow smoothing is on.
1. When I import the PNG image, can I safely select JPG compression via the Bitmap Properties? Or do I need to keep it as lossless? If I select JPG, I can considerably reduce the filesize, although I'm not sure if that causes the images to look jagged as well.
2. Is there anything I can do outside the HTML settings to display my animations without the jagged edges? I need to keep my filesize under 50Kb which is pretty hard when working with photos and animation etc.
I have made a small rectangle in the flash with the tweening effect and export in to the FLEX. When i publish in the FLEX i could see the rectangle with out tweening effects.How can i see the tweening effects.
View 1 RepliesI'm getting the following error: Motion tweening will not occur on layers with ungrouped shapes or on layers with more than one group or symbol. I don't have any ungrouped shapes (it's all text), each layer has 5 instances of only one symbol (keyframes), no objects are grouped and text is all static text.
When watching the animation, the first word (web) looks fine, on the second word (design) the tween fails on the last couple of frames of that clip (the blur filter disappears), the third word (and) is OK, and on the forth word (development) the blur filter is not applied to the last 16 frames of that clip.I broke each animation into its own MC thinking that was causing the issue, but that didn't fix anything.
I have a mask and I want to take 12 images and put the same mask to it and then loop them.I can apply the mask to one image but would this be easier to do in actionscript or am I completely off base here?
View 21 RepliesI want to do a zoom in/out effect on images. I am using caurina to scale the images everythign is working fine but it always scales for the rigstration point of the movie clip which in this case is top left.
Is there any way to zoom from the point the user clicks the image using caurina?
I am loading the .png image files on my stage and i have mouse_over and Mouse_out effects on that, now this .pngfiles has little drop shadows on sides - when i mouse over it - it scales a little bit,but when i mouse over on edges - it acts wired, it countinuously detects mouse over aand mouse out like 100 times in 1 sec, if i move mouse from edges to little center then it works fine,
View 2 RepliesI'm a web designer, but I deal with HTML, PHP, JavaScript, not so much ActionScript. I have a new client, and they've already had a website designed completely in Flash. Now they only want certain elements of it, and the rest in HTML. See, the website uses the ripple effect to make images and text look as if you were sticking your finger in water - it follows the mouse. So, I want to take 3 different smaller Flash movies out of this huge, big one. But when I do, the ripple effect no longer works. Here is the action code:

I've been asked to incorporate a slideshow into a website that I'm working on, which is fine, except they have seen a particular tranition effect that is used between images, this can be seen on these two sites...[URL]. Its kind of a bleach effect? Which I presume is achieved using some sort of tween engine like Tweenmax or the Fusekit? The Honda site also has a nice second transition effect which is pretty cool, where dots kind of fall away? Has this just been done on the timeline?

View 3 RepliesI have build a gallery but its very simple. It takes images from xml file. I have attached all files in zip. First when I press next button it goes to next image but with no effect. It just displays next image. I want to incorporate a sliding effect when the image is changed to another. And second I want to use autoplay feature. As soon as swf starts the images came one by one with difference of few seconds.

View 1 RepliesI followed the tutorial concerning the "Photo Gallery using XML and Flash", and everything works great. The only problem is that I have to make some alterations in the initial code, and I just can't get it right.
Here's what I have to do:
1. Introduce a fade out that intertwines with the fade in of the nextImage;
2. Add a link to the xml, so that when the user clicks the images, each leads to a different page.
To achieve this, I've tried to play around with the alpha values on prevImage, slideshow, and nextImage functions, but as for the results either the pictures don't appear, or simply flash intermittently when they do. As for the Link part, I've trying to introduce a <link> line on the xml file, and put a 'href' value on the <image> line. None worked.

View 3 RepliesI just need some direction or insight as to how others might handle this task. I lack the necessary AS3 skills, but still think it's overly complicated for being such a simple task. I have a set of images (say 10) on stage. I need to loop through this set over and over again... each image fades in... holds for some time... then fades out as the next image fades in. But each image has its own website link when it has focus. So far I've encountered trouble when dealing with alpha & visible settings. It's like you can't have one without the other and vice versa. Visible allows separate links to hold but only alpha allows the tween motion. All of my code is on frame 1.

The problem I have is that I can't add an 'envelope' effect to the images that are loaded as sprites. I know I can use 'envelope tool' if I break the image apart (ctrl+b) but I need to do it dynamically via AS. Is there any way to do it. Rotating the X/Y/Z axis doesn't do what I need.

View 2 RepliesI have several files for every piece of my movie. I have SCENE1.FLA, SCENE2.FLA, SCENE3.FLA, etc and want to merge them all into one file - MAIN.FLA. To avoid library symbol conflict, first I copy the content of SCENE1.FLA into MAIN.FLA, then in MAIN.FLA, I put every symbol in the library in it's own new folder named "+SCENE1". Then at the end of the frames of SCENE1's content on the timeline, I make a little space (blank frames), and paste the frames of SCENE2.FLA. For some reason "resolve library conflict" window pops up and ofcourse I say "don't replace). Now in MAIN.FLA the animation of SCENE2 has several problems: some symbols are missing and others are misplaced (like background, that is at the wrong X/Y position). So my question is: how do I get this right? How do I fix those problems and how do you usually merge the FLA's into ONE?
