Dec 25, 2010In Flex, how do I display "midi-channel" to s:Label? I tried songTitle.text = mainXML.child("movement-title").text(); it worked but unsure how to display for midi-channel part.

Aug 15, 2011This is the edit to my question. There is quite a bit of code here, but the problem area is below the second set of three line comments. I stuck the rest in just in case I'm completely wrong about where the problem is. With the "if" statement I can display fine in a run, but not in debug. If I get rid of the conditional it runs fine in debug, but not in a regular run. These errors only occur on the first run of the quiz. In either mode it runs fine fi I take a second quiz.

Nov 19, 2011I'm trying to make a Flex Tree Component display the children of a sprite in a hierarchical way. Moreover, dragging the items on the FlexTree would resort and reparent the items. I have special Elements set as Folders. This would allow other elements to be added there as a children by dragging an element on the tree and dropping it there. I have a failed attempt which works, but breaks when I try to add folders. Basically, it fails at reparenting the items by dragging and resorting folders and that Does anyone know of a component or something which can do this, has anyone have created any of this or could anyone give me a clue?

Sep 11, 2009In an AIR application I have the following code:
theDialog = PopUpManager.createPopUp( this, TheDialogClass, true ) as TheDialogClass;
theDialog.addEventListener(FlexEvent.CREATION_COMPLETE, cpuIntensiveCalc);
At the end of cpuIntensiveCalc the dialog is removed. The dialog informs the user that "something is going on, please stand by."
The problem is that cpuIntensiveCalc starts before the dialog draws. So the user experience is that the application freezes for 10 seconds with no indicator, then the modal dialog flashes quickly (less than a second) on screen.
The Adobe docs say this about creation_complete
Dispatched when the component has finished its construction, property processing, measuring, layout, and drawing.
So this feels like the correct event. In the name of completeness, I also tried

Nov 26, 2010I'm testing alivePDF 0.1.5 and till now everything's been fine. I'm super interested in the new function writeFlashHTMLText() cause it makes my life so much easier! xD I'm now trying to display the generated pdf in a browser tab/window instead of just saving the file (using the filereference class' save function). I saw that there was a PDF.save() function that allowed that specifying the argument Download.INLINE. However I don't want to use the save function of the pdf class cause I don't want to use a script.
