Is it possible to login through flash using one Dynamic Text Field and one Input Text Field and no buttons? If so how? But having the user input a number, store it as a variable, store which function the user wants to perform and clear the text field then store the new input in the same text field as a different variable and multiply or add or divide or subtract the 2 numbers and getting the equals sign to display the answer when clicked is harder than I thought it would be.

I can make this happen, but the problem is that the dinamic field shows its new text in the same format as the Input field. For example, the input text is written in TimesNewRoman and the dinamic text is in Arial, but when the dinamic text shows the input, the text is still in TimesNewRoman when I want it to be in Arial.

Everytime a certain button gets clicked the content and colour of the textfield change. I want to retain the style and filter. For you non Brits out there UK postcodes work on two blocks of 2-4 characters each.
L2 2HH - Liverpool central
M24 2TN - suburb of Manchester
IV56 7NQ - outter Inverness
You get the idea. So the first part of a UK postcode, wether it be 2 characters or 4 characters MUST have atleast one numeric and one non-numeric character in it. How do I detect this?
At the moment I've just got my CHECK POSTCODE button to run a few functions only if my POSTCODE (input text) field length it greater or equal to 2 characters. So how do I easily detect an input of numeric and non-numerical characters without having to resort to indexOf ...a...b...c...1...2...3...?
I need the use of the chars â„¢ and ® but only the latter appears. I'm using a loadVars object and an external .txt file which is loading with success, but where I need the phrase "Soo Bahk Doâ„¢ Moo Duk Kwan®," I only get "Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan®" Why doesn't "â„¢" load?
Edit: I'd like to add that I have chosen to embed all uppercase,lowercase, and punctuation marks, and I additionally added â„¢ and ® to ensure they'd appear, but, the trademark logo still does not appear.
I've had a Flash website up and running for about a year which includes an external text file linked to a dynamic text field.
Everything worked well until I recently added content to the external text file.
Suddenly, the file won't load in flash.
If I play around and cut a line here or there, it sometimes loads. Sometimes not. Sometimes it looks like there might be a character limit. Sometimes it looks like flash might be having a problem with certain characters.
So my questions are:
1.) Does Flash have a limit on the amount of characters that can be displayed in a dynamic field.
2.) If so, can this be changed with as3?

I don't know if it is possible, I assume it would be, but my searches are not turning up much.
I want the user to be able to select a section of text and click a B button to surround that selected text with strong tags, same for italics.

Jus inncase it's nt really clear, I'm using a javascript contact form whereby users will add in details such as name, etc, and they're also required to input some details in the .swf (the input in the flash is a must). After they're submitted the input in the flash (as seenn in the link above), the detail will be send together with the rest of the details from the contact form.
