I'm building an as3 only web application and want to be able to include external html content within a flash 'window'. In AIR there is the flash.html.HTMLLoader class which makes this possible.
Can anyone point to an example of this being done in a flash as opposed to AIR application?
Various sites, such as [URL] for video, or [URL], use an object tag with a nested embed tag. Based on quite a bit of testing, I've concluded that these sites only work with the nested or stand-alone embed tag, but not with the equivalent object tag syntax. Here's an example:

Is there a way (using flash) to grab the raw html from another browser frame? I'd like the following sequence:
Launch my window from [URL]...Launch window from another site [URL]..which has content I want to grab.Let my window grab the raw html content from the other window.
I doubt this is possible because it could be used for dastardly purpii, but just wanted to check.
I am creating a flash movie that needs to be wider then the space available in the html. The html has about a 300 pixel space where I can a flash "launcher" movie (with a html menu bar beside it) and I would like to open a 600 pixel flash movie above everything else on the page (html menu bar and all) but not using a traditional popup window or browser window of any kind (so there will be no issue with popup blockers).
There are banner ads that put junk over top of html content

View 1 RepliesI am trying to include my Adobe Flash CS3 movies on my HTML websites. The website is validated XHTML 1.0 strict. It works fine in IE and is valid. (IE uses the OBJECT tag) In Firefox, I cannot have my movie since the EMBED tag is depreciated-If I do have the Flash movie included to work in Firefox, it will not validate since the EMBED tag is depreciated. Is there any way to have it work in FireFox and be XHTML 1.0 Strict valid? My URL is:(Flash on top)

My problem is that when the site loads the 1st time and click from the menu to go to the 2nd frame (1st content page) then i have to wait at about 3-4 seconds to load my html content. The same for the 3rd frame. If these two content pages load for the 1st time, then the pages open immediately. What can i do for this? Is there a way to open this content pages more quickly, or place a loader, and with what code?
I load an external html content page through contents.xml file, in page.swf, which loads in main.swf like external file. The code of contents.xml is this:

Is there any way to have as3 'listen' for a window to be opened anywhere from the _parent page?I have a Flash animation running with sound on my _parent html page. There are html links elsewhere on the page that will open up other sites. I would like these sites to open in a _blank window rather than the _parent, but to make this practical I need the sound in my flash animation to shut off when this happens. (as there is sound on the other pages as well).It would be really cool if the sound on the _parent page would turn back on when the user closes the new window, although this would complicate things as it is possible the user may open multiple windows so the code would have to keep a count of windows opened.

com/primary_lib/LibClass.as <- primary lib I want to use
Lib.as has the following code:

Now I have some fla project where I want to use this com/primary_lib/lib.as, something like:

How to include this library into my project and where should I put all those files? I already tried putting them into every possible folder but I always get definition com.primary_lib:LibClass could not be found error.
I'm naturally a PHP coder, but I have to use flash for a part of a project.I was wondering if I have files such as mainsite.swf and page1content.swf, is there a way to simply include the page1content.swf file into a predefined area on the mainsite.swf file (as in PHP's include)?Also, would it be possible to use this flash "include" to embed external swf's?Finally, ideally I'd be able to merge these files together, but from what I've read, it's a tricky business, with filenames, referencing etc, so this is optional.

Is there a way to create a mini window in flash that contain an HTML web page?
View 1 RepliesI'm developing a Flash application which is communicating with Javascript to allow more features such as custom html input etc., by placing an absolute positioned div on top of the flash application and controlling it's position etc. with Flash & Javascript.
Because these html elements have to appear above the flash content, I figured the following basic css would be enough to do the trick:

So, the htmlContent has a higher z-index than the flash content and thus it should be shown above it. Unfortunately, this only seems to work when you set the Flash object's "wmode" parameter to "transparent".
The problem with this setting is that it's seriousely decreasing the application's framerate to an unacceptable amount.
For static content this does not seem to be a problem, however for my application there's all kinds of elements that you can drag around which have to be moved real-time (while moving the mouse).
So, how do I enable html content on top of flash content without using the "transparent" wmode parameter or how do I optimize framerate when using the "transparent" wmode parameter?

In the Publish Settings I see there are options to align the HTML to Default, Left, Right, Top and Bottom, but no Center. Is there a setting somewhere else? View 2 RepliesI have a flex Air program that loads external content with the HTMLLoader.Now for some reason whenever I load a page that has any flash content a blank system window pops up outside of my program. It's completely blank, all white with min, max and close buttons.If I close it any flash content I loaded stops working. For the life of my I can't figure out what's happening and there's no messages in the console and no title for the window.

I am designing a website which will have four hover buttons in the corners and flash content in the middle:
I am using the following code for the buttons which works fine:

What would be the correct html and css code to position the 4 buttons with a hover effect and the flash content.
Currently, the facebook plugin is displayed briefly before the flash starts loading then it disappears after the page is loaded. What do I need to do for the plugin to display on the webpage in order to look like it is part of the flash site?[url]...
The green background of the facebook plugin and position is just temp for testing purposes until I can get this page to display properly.

View 14 RepliesI've really struggling to understand where to go next I have a file called data.as which contains a URL with a unquire id on for example index.php?id=6957 however depending on which computer the exe projector will be running on the id will be changed in the data file alone.
However when i generate the exe projector it caches the url and wont recheck for any changes in the url.
This is the AS i currnelty have, What i would like it to do is reload the the include data.as everytime it goes to this frame with the below on.

I've been struggling to get some absolutely positioned overlays to show above an flv movie(using flowplayer) in the firefox browser(works in safari)I have the overlays div placed underneath the video html "wrapper" and have tried using a high z-index on the overlays but to no avail. Is there anything i may be doing wrong? Or another trick i could try?
