My problem is that when the site loads the 1st time and click from the menu to go to the 2nd frame (1st content page) then i have to wait at about 3-4 seconds to load my html content. The same for the 3rd frame. If these two content pages load for the 1st time, then the pages open immediately. What can i do for this? Is there a way to open this content pages more quickly, or place a loader, and with what code?

Apr 1, 2005I need to load a external swf into my Mccontainer. This Mc Container is the one im using actually to get external files loaded and displayed with a generic preloader. This preloader works perfectly loadind external clips, I tested online. Iam fairly new to the flash and actually i cant figure out how to pre/load an external swf WITHOUT pressing any buttons, it means that an external clip schould be loaded directly into my MCcontainer !!! I need to write an As that i schoud put on a code frame layer (main timeline) that will tell flash to load the external swf directly into my Mccontainer without pressing any buttons when flash reaches a specif code frame on the timeline.

Apr 15, 2009I have been trying to figure out the best way to load content into a container on an .php page which has three different .swfs already loaded - one is an mp3 player which I do not want to stop playing (this will obviously happen on a page refresh). The objective is to keep a flash menu for navigation given it's nice animation capabilities, but load page content into a container underneath. There are JavaScript files out there that work in conjunction with php (ajax) to accomplish this, but once I throw flash into the mix everything goes sideways. I know you can include js with the ExternalInterface.call function, but this only solves the js portion not the php bit.

I have a project in which I want to load HTML content so that others in the office can author in HTML since they are very familiar with it. It would have to recognize many of the most common HTML tags. Is this easily done or would I need some sort of add-on?

Aug 9, 2009I am having a strange problem with frame labels.I am using external swf. files to load content for my portfolio.The Work section contains thumbnails and once you click them they fade in at a larger size using Frame labels with AS2.[code]If you open URL... and click the thumbnails you can see it works perfectly fine. However if you go to the work section from the index URL... it no longer works. I have been trying at this all day but it does not seem to work once i upload to server :/all files (FLA , SWF, HTML )

Jun 21, 2011The dilemma I currently have is that I'm hosting a resource that is application/octet-stream. In my Actionscript code, I'm using some library that ( from what I can recall ) does new Image and loads a resource into that object which was created.There is a method, loadImage(url) which accepts a url and that's where you feed it the path to the image.I do not have access to the loadImage source code, so I don't know exactly what it does, but the working one loads the image fine because the Content-Type is image/jpeg. The non-working one ( this one I'm trying to fix ) doesn't because of the different Content-Type.I'm wondering if someone can tell me if I can make the flash basically parse the URI as if it were image/jpeg, regardless of the Content-Type? I assume that Image the constructor is native to flash/AS, but I haven't been able to google the loadImage method so it must be custom, right?Or could the Image constructor itself be custom? An extended version of the original Image with loadImage method and such?Anyways, does anyone know how I can view the source code of loadImage? I did an ack-grep and found the source code for the loadImage method defined in a library:[code]Can anyone offer advice as to how I can do the loadBytes on this? I was thinking of defining a custom method, loadResource or something which can load regardless of Content-Type... or just create an optional parameter in the current load method and inside, branch out based on what was passed.

- The website has content (text) which is loaded externally
- The images are also called externally with 'loader' component
- I have added a preloader at the beginning of my file
But still when I loaded it on the server....the images and the content is coming slowly. Some way to load the whole file completely at the time of loading (including the external content)?

Here's my problem I would like to load an external HTML image like so "<img src="http://image/dog.jpg" id="1" width="728" height="90" />"; but I am not sure how I can achieve this - the ID="1" is something someone gave me however I do not know if "1" has to be assigned in order for the image to load. I am very, very new to actionscript & I apologize if asking this insults anyone but if anyone can help me I would be very grateful - This has been bugging me for almost a week now & even when I try to pay for help no one can help me out.

Nov 20, 2009I have a html page with a flash element. The flash element loads in an external swf. This works fine when I'm testing from the swf, but when I test from my HTML page the external swf doesn't seem to load into my main swf.
I have all my swf's in a folder called "swf". The HTML document is at the root level. In my main swf the actionscript for loading the external swf is:

Some how the path to the external swf gets lost. I've tried new URLRequest("soundComponent.swf"); as well. And like I said, this all works from the swf, just not when viewing from an HTML page.

May 7, 2010Site loads two flash files at the same time with multiple dynamic text fields that load .html files with external css style sheets. The site works almost perfectly when viewed offline, but when you upload it the text boxes sometimes load and sometimes do not. I'm a graphic designer so I really don't know actionscript 3.0 (or any version) very well... so I'm attaching the footer .fla file which by itself suffers from the same problem, and the other files are too big to upload so here is the link to the other .fla file used on the homepage

I used containermc.mouseChildren = false; to add click event listener to the containermc then i was not able to click the button, then i gave containermc.mouseChildren = true; then i was not able to click the containermc, and also i need to enable doubleclick to containermc movieclip.

Aug 15, 2009I'm have made some buttons (movie clip) and when I click on it, I want a file (home.swf) to load in a loader (mx.contents.loader) and I want the other buttons to do the same, all load into the same loader. I have no Idea how to do that. The way I have it set up now, the home.swf will load over the entire screen and that is not what I want. I just want the content to load into the loader and have its content change once I click on the other buttons. Here is a copy and past of that I have at the moment, I'm using Flash 8 to do it all.

ActionScript 1/2 :: External Image / Once The Site Loads If Go To The "Contact Us" Page The Content Doesn't Load Correctly
Jun 11, 2010[URL] Above is a link to view the project I'm working on. Once the site loads if you go to the "Contact Us" page the content doesn't load correctly. I'm using an extrnal .xml and .css files for the content. I'm also embedding the fonts dynamicly. If I test the file locally on my computer is works fine the image loads as it's supposed to and content looks correct. However when I post the files to the server (which work exactly the same way) I get the white box when you can see from the link above. I'm at a complete loss as to how to to fix this.
