Is there any way to load swf content like html from top to bottom progressively instead of waiting until whole file loaded.
I thought i can separate the swf content into many smaller horizantal swfs and load them one by one with masking but i am sure it is not gonna work properly?
where I can find a tutorial for a scroll bar and the content you are scrolling is loaded from a html file? I saw one where you can do it with a .txt file but you cant put images on it, so do you know if it is possible to load the content from a html file with images?
View 2 RepliesI have been trying to figure out the best way to load content into a container on an .php page which has three different .swfs already loaded - one is an mp3 player which I do not want to stop playing (this will obviously happen on a page refresh). The objective is to keep a flash menu for navigation given it's nice animation capabilities, but load page content into a container underneath. There are JavaScript files out there that work in conjunction with php (ajax) to accomplish this, but once I throw flash into the mix everything goes sideways. I know you can include js with the ExternalInterface.call function, but this only solves the js portion not the php bit.

I have a project in which I want to load HTML content so that others in the office can author in HTML since they are very familiar with it. It would have to recognize many of the most common HTML tags. Is this easily done or would I need some sort of add-on?

My problem is that when the site loads the 1st time and click from the menu to go to the 2nd frame (1st content page) then i have to wait at about 3-4 seconds to load my html content. The same for the 3rd frame. If these two content pages load for the 1st time, then the pages open immediately. What can i do for this? Is there a way to open this content pages more quickly, or place a loader, and with what code?
I load an external html content page through contents.xml file, in page.swf, which loads in main.swf like external file. The code of contents.xml is this:

So i'm trying to align a navigation to the bottom of the browser.
and this is whats happening...The NAV clip is aligning to something, but it's not working right. I want it to be 25 pixels from the bottom at all times, no matter what size the browser is...

Trying to make a custom scroller which works but the odd thing is that when i drag the scroller to the bottom, the content scrolls the opposite way. So when the scroller is at its start point,the content is at its end point and when i scroll it to the end point the content reverses to the start point. Here is what I'm using

I'm have made some buttons (movie clip) and when I click on it, I want a file (home.swf) to load in a loader (mx.contents.loader) and I want the other buttons to do the same, all load into the same loader. I have no Idea how to do that. The way I have it set up now, the home.swf will load over the entire screen and that is not what I want. I just want the content to load into the loader and have its content change once I click on the other buttons. Here is a copy and past of that I have at the moment, I'm using Flash 8 to do it all.

Do I build the bar in Flash and then the HTML portion in dreamweaver or do I build it all in Flash? Would an iFrame work for this sort of website?

View 4 RepliesI'm developing a Flash application which is communicating with Javascript to allow more features such as custom html input etc., by placing an absolute positioned div on top of the flash application and controlling it's position etc. with Flash & Javascript.
Because these html elements have to appear above the flash content, I figured the following basic css would be enough to do the trick:

So, the htmlContent has a higher z-index than the flash content and thus it should be shown above it. Unfortunately, this only seems to work when you set the Flash object's "wmode" parameter to "transparent".
The problem with this setting is that it's seriousely decreasing the application's framerate to an unacceptable amount.
For static content this does not seem to be a problem, however for my application there's all kinds of elements that you can drag around which have to be moved real-time (while moving the mouse).
So, how do I enable html content on top of flash content without using the "transparent" wmode parameter or how do I optimize framerate when using the "transparent" wmode parameter?
I have an xml doc which works beautifully....now I want to edit the "content" so that it display html content, ie....within the text of the "content" I could add bold tags or add a links or something like that....I have looked up and down and no thread I could find has a straight forward definitive answer...not just on here either...is it that difficult...i doubt it?I will have to set the properties of my text box to accept html...right?so something like this....

View 1 RepliesI'm currently downloading website via an ActionScript HTMLLoader to later have access to the DOM to get some information out of the page. The problem is: each resource that is linked on the page (images, stylesheets, javascript) is also loaded which takes some additional time. I don't really need those resources, because only the plain HTML/DOM is interesting. Is there any way to disable loading of linked resources? At first I tried using an URLLoader and parse the result as XML, but when the website isn't valid this doesn't work. I also didn't find a library that validates/parses a given HTML-string into valid XML.

View 14 RepliesI have a flash musicplayer, that is very simple by itself. it has one button, Start/Stop. The player itself is in footer.
The Problem: when the page loads music won't start (FLASH player won't play) before you don't see it on the page, I mean, when the screen is small by resolution, you don't see the footer - and music doesn't start. when you scroll down to footer (when you see the player) it starts playing.
How should I do that no matter if you see the player or not - the player starts playing.
I created a project w/a dynamic html scroll box on one page/spot on timeline. I want to use the same scroll box, but have it call a different .htm file for different content at a different part of my timeline.My problem is the file naming. I tried to just copy the entire scroller project I made and append a "_2" to all the file names, so that they wouldn't interfere with my original scroller in my main project, but that didn't work out.Is there anyway to duplicate the original scroller within my project and just have it call a different file?
View 1 RepliesI've been struggling to get some absolutely positioned overlays to show above an flv movie(using flowplayer) in the firefox browser(works in safari)I have the overlays div placed underneath the video html "wrapper" and have tried using a high z-index on the overlays but to no avail. Is there anything i may be doing wrong? Or another trick i could try?
