I just installed Flash Media Server 3.5 and was trying to verify my installation. When I try to 'Verify progressive download over HTTP' as given in [URL] i am able to 'View a sample video' on start screen but when i try 'View your own video' i get this message on the player "Connection Error. Please press Play to try again."
Is there a standard class that simply returns the response received from a URL given a URL?
Looking through the documentation, I found mx.servicetags.HTTPService, but I don't think it's what I'm looking for.
Update: The request is happening inside of a function and therefore that same function has to return the result. In other words, callbacks aren't going to work.
When a flash player is being hosted on https server, can I pull content to play on it from an http server. Would this work or give a mixed content warning or some other problem?
In our company we upgraded to fms 4 and installed the apache that comes bundle up with the installation. We had it configure and now we can play videos in html 5 by using the http protocol. The question I have is, can we use https protocol instead of rtmps? I've been doing a lot of research and I found documentation that says to put a minus sign in front of port 443 (-443) in the fms.ini file in the ADAPTOR.HOSTPORT line but it also says that with this configuration port 443 will only receive rtmps connections. My next step is to put the minus sign in front of the port number and restart the server and just try to establish connection using https to see if i works.
I'm writing a simple small context media platform. It is mainly based on so called HTTP Pseudostreaming, where I mediate the media file using a php script. This is used for checking access to the file, and for linking to the correct directory. In the following the basic parts of my code:
A web channel streaming service streams to a certain IP range, it only checks the IP in example.com/cmd.php?id=xxx (channel number) and outputs an rtmpe stream URL, nothing else. How do I trick it to get my local URL instead of the one on their server? I have considered squid proxy, but is there some way to do it with a firefox plugin or greasemonkey script?
Edit:I will try to specify:It's a streaming service from an ISP and cable provider. They stream for free to people on their IP's. On their webtv page, which is called webtv.example.com, there is a flash player. If you are not on an IP from their ISP, you can't stream anything but the test channel. When you try to change channel via. javescript:videoplayer_changechannel(xxx) it makes this HTTP request:
[URL]
If you are on one of their IP's you will get an RTMP URL, like this:
[URL]
This is what the flash player requests, and if it get's this response it load the channel requested. There is no HTML on the php page, just the URL. Note that the rtmp URL is static. If you are not on one of their IP's it will return a random sentence (something stupid, the programmers having fun).I wan't to trick the flash player into getting the right value, even though it's not on one of the ISP's IP's.
I have installed RED5 flash server and 12 hours after installing it, I still cannot serve a simple MP3 file. So far, If I have understood correctly, you need to create and compile a Java application to simply serve a file!?.... Which seems a little over-complicated to be honest. Never touched Java.I have used the oflademo however cannot change the directory.I basically need RED5 to serve MP3 files from a directory (which i will specify), I will be calling the files as normal in a JW player playlist.
I'm developing a Flash application which is communicating with Javascript to allow more features such as custom html input etc., by placing an absolute positioned div on top of the flash application and controlling it's position etc. with Flash & Javascript.
Because these html elements have to appear above the flash content, I figured the following basic css would be enough to do the trick:
#flashContent { position: absolute; left: 0px;
[Code].....
So, the htmlContent has a higher z-index than the flash content and thus it should be shown above it. Unfortunately, this only seems to work when you set the Flash object's "wmode" parameter to "transparent".
The problem with this setting is that it's seriousely decreasing the application's framerate to an unacceptable amount.
For static content this does not seem to be a problem, however for my application there's all kinds of elements that you can drag around which have to be moved real-time (while moving the mouse).
So, how do I enable html content on top of flash content without using the "transparent" wmode parameter or how do I optimize framerate when using the "transparent" wmode parameter?
I have an xml doc which works beautifully....now I want to edit the "content" so that it display html content, ie....within the text of the "content" I could add bold tags or add a links or something like that....I have looked up and down and no thread I could find has a straight forward definitive answer...not just on here either...is it that difficult...i doubt it?I will have to set the properties of my text box to accept html...right?so something like this....
theText.html = true;
THis was my attemp...(the first part)...but no deal...
Code: <icons><icon image="shoes.png" tooltip="www.shoes4crews.co.uk" content="I made this...<![CDATA[<a [code]....
I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction for this question: I have an event handler that is called by multiple objects onClick - ie, I have several objects which I want to respond in the same way onClick. I was wondering if there was a way of amalgamating all the calls to this event handler into one call: at the moment I have:
I just had a problem with Firefox 1.5 which has cached a SWF (let's say loaded.swf) that I was loading from another SWF (let's say main.swf). I overwrote loaded.swf on the server with a new version, but Firefox kept serving the original (old) version of loaded.swf to my main.swf. This continued even across a Firefox shutdown/restart. Only when I cleared the cache did Firefox serve the new version.
I want to store a filesystem tree into MongoDB within a Ruby application, so we are talking about json/bson representation of something like:
/ /foo /foo/one /foo/bar/two /foo/bar/three /four
my aim is to store it efficiently and to serve it via json to an Adobe Flex application which will display it in a Tree component. which is the best solution in your opinion? this document suggests some options. i'd like to go for something like the first pattern (keeping in mind the limit of 16Mb document size) with this format:
I am creating a site in flash that is reading in entries from a database. I want the swf to expand downward on the html page so the user can use the browser scroll bars to see all the content. I don't want to paginate everything into a 800 px high swf or something - I want the page to expand just like it would if it were html
For example there are some html tags <div id="test"><div><div>testtest</div></div></div></div></div></div> From that html, I need to get this <div id="test"><div><div>testtest</div></div></div> Current regex /<div id="test">.*(</div>){3}/gim
Currently, the facebook plugin is displayed briefly before the flash starts loading then it disappears after the page is loaded. What do I need to do for the plugin to display on the webpage in order to look like it is part of the flash site?[url]...
The green background of the facebook plugin and position is just temp for testing purposes until I can get this page to display properly.
i'm learning flash and I've stuck on a problem. I have web page in php and i wan't only flash menu. The problem is that when i make geturl in actionscript the new page open, but i wan't that only content refresh.URL...
So I want to read http streams using flash tcp sockets. I do not really need the http header at all - all I need is body which contains flv. so how to read http response body into byte array using flash sockets?
I created a project w/a dynamic html scroll box on one page/spot on timeline. I want to use the same scroll box, but have it call a different .htm file for different content at a different part of my timeline. My problem is the file naming. I tried to just copy the entire scroller project I made and append a "_2" to all the file names, so that they wouldn't interfere with my original scroller in my main project, but that didn't work out.Is there anyway to duplicate the original scroller within my project and just have it call a different file?
I've been struggling to get some absolutely positioned overlays to show above an flv movie(using flowplayer) in the firefox browser(works in safari)I have the overlays div placed underneath the video html "wrapper" and have tried using a high z-index on the overlays but to no avail. Is there anything i may be doing wrong? Or another trick i could try?
Is there a way (using flash) to grab the raw html from another browser frame? I'd like the following sequence:
Launch my window from [URL]...Launch window from another site [URL]..which has content I want to grab.Let my window grab the raw html content from the other window.
I doubt this is possible because it could be used for dastardly purpii, but just wanted to check.
I have a problem with a Flash object and the menu of my page. The site is on Wordpress : [URL] When I try to access to the menu, the menu content appears behind the Flash. How can I fix this? this is my code of the template section:
I'm new working with Django. I have a html page with flash content named map.html, and I like to include it into another page named soporte.html (which extends base.html page) through {% include %} tag. If I open map.html directly without django, in firefox for example, I can see the flash content, but if I open the whole project using django (in firefox too) and I go to the page where is suposed to be the map I can't see anything.
Various sites, such as [URL] for video, or [URL], use an object tag with a nested embed tag. Based on quite a bit of testing, I've concluded that these sites only work with the nested or stand-alone embed tag, but not with the equivalent object tag syntax. Here's an example:
Is there any way to load swf content like html from top to bottom progressively instead of waiting until whole file loaded.
I thought i can separate the swf content into many smaller horizantal swfs and load them one by one with masking but i am sure it is not gonna work properly?
I have a Flash header with a menu item that drops down a sub menu and takes up an additional 200px or so of space. I need the menu to overlap the HTML content below without having to make the SWF file taller, since that would push everything down.
