I dont know how to show the current progress in progressBar component when the process is a loop that requires a lot of seconds to do the job. Inside the loop, i setProgress and update the progressBar label in every cicle, but it is not shown up to the job is done. I dont need this, because i want to see the advance of process.

I am attempting to use a loop to create text field with the loop's current value. The code looks like this:

I've got 4 menubuttons: homeBut, aboutBut, portBut and contBut that I'm adding a rollover command to. If I write all of it out as below it works correctly. Obviously this isn't the way to do it so I've used an array and for loop to duplicate this process. However, when I compile the .fla the rollovers don't work. I thought I had my head around loops, vars and arrays but apparently not.
Below is the bloated, redundant code that works followed by the array/loop code that doesn't.

I want to create a list of progress bars and update the list accordingly.I have group data in an Array as

I wanna set a custom skin on my progressBar, but it's not working out the way I want it to. My skin has 3 different colors on it (green, yellow, red) and green should show until it's about 50%, then I want the yellow to appear after green and the red at 90% after green and yellow. So at 100% they should all show.The problem is that the ProgressBar only sets the width of my skin so all colors are showing at all times. But if I use the indeterminateSkin but dont set indeterminate to true that doesn't happend.How can I make a skin that doesn't just change width? Atm I'm just using a MovieClip for a skin.

View 3 RepliesI have created a pie preloader(preloader.zip) which is working fine. Same preloader I am trying to incorporate in a xml based slideshow(slideshow.zip) to show image loading process but some how I got stuck. I am new to flash. Suggestions are welcome.
1. How to solve the problem of preloader2. Is it possible to integrate everything in a movie clip (including AS). I mean no AS on main time line but inside the movie clip. It would be much easier then to to create multiple slideshows by duplicating mc and changing the xml file.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a simple skin for the flex progressbar control. Both the track and the bar should have rounded corners, and the bar should fill the track completely in the parts where it is being shown.
Here is the bar skin I've created based off this example:

Instead of the bar being flush with the track, there's a margin, and the rounded border gets cut off.

I have a ProgressBar in MANUAL mode responding an URLLoader's progress events that seems to get drawn far less frequently than I would like. If I debug the app, I can see many events firing from the URLLoader yet it seems that the ProgressBar is being re-drawn at some random and slow rate.
Now if this was my own code (URLLoader is a black box), I would pause once in a while to let the UI update, say via loop with a timer. I presume that the URLLoader itself is blocking the main thread from processing drawing code. Adding validateNow() and invalidateDisplayList() does not seem to help much.

Now there are many TResources (just a class that can manage its data) being loaded in sequence, but the URLLoader is so greedy that it does not let the UI get updated more than a few times when loading & processing (parsing into XML objects) 50 or so 10KB files. So just counting which files loaded visually does not work either; I'm lucky to get 2-3 screen updates the entire time.
Loading a 700MB file looks much better, but again the progress bar updates are random and slow.
Additionally, I'd like to know if there is any way to influence or even control the rate at which ProgressEvents are fired by the URLLoader class. I have not been able to find at what rate it normally dispatches progress events either; is it at a fixed percentage per file or every x frames or milliseconds?
As these are local files, would I be better off not using the URLLoader class and instead switching to FileStream?
I have this tween function that moves an object 100 pixels as soon as it enters the frame.

My idea is to set up a loop to watch the tween, once it advances its 100 pixels from where it started I want to do a few things before I go to the next frame. Right now I'm using a timer, but it limits my ability to control the playhead.
I've been trying to create a loop to check the current _x and trace it so I can see it advancing as its tweening but it's simply too advanced for me.
I have a Flex AIR2 application which uses native process to run CMD.exe. Application running fine on WinXP, Win R 2008 server. But not running on VISTA 64 bit OS. Flex not able to run CMD.exe when application installed in C:Program Files (x86). When I run application as Administrator mode it is working fine. On it I have a player that play avi files and some buttons and tabs along side.The application also have recording button that records that direct stream from an IP cam and store that stream on the media (USB). How can I automate function testing of such application. Like I have confusion that when I press the recording button but can I be sure that recording starts? I have tried RIATest and flexUnit 4.
