so i was trying to lop an Internet radio player, that will connect to different shoutcast servers, and play the radio, of course in development time everything was ok, now the time came for publishing just to be surprised with this messageof course i know what to do, but the end user will most likely won't know, and also i think this is a set back for developing such stuff, i also once tried to develop a twitter widget same thing happened when trying to communicate with twitter output, to work around that i could load the xml file from twitter into a local file using php, but i see a lot of flash files that uses flickr, twitter, and other sites, so how do these widgets work without triggering the security message,

I'm trying to display the profile images from both facebook and twitter. For facebook, the URLs I'm receiving are something like this (not actual urls):[URL]... Which is then redirected to the 'actual' url like this:[URL].. I'm also doing this with twitter, with the same issue (redirected url).
So, when I load the image, it loads fine. But when I close the container that the image is in, then I get the security sandbox violation. I can get this all to work if I add the URL from the 'actual' image url like this:

I am very new to flex, i have created a simple login page in flex and created a webproject in Eclipse having a jsp page. i have put that jsp page in tomcat webapps. Now when i run an application of login from FlashBuilder it runs fine as i have given the ip e.g [url]... and passing it as a url in HttpService and it worked fine. but when i put my login.swf file in webapps same in that folder where that jsp resides and un e.g [url]... it displays the page but when i click on the login button it gives me with this error "Security error accessing url"

[code]Now, the above code works fine for some people using our software while others are experiencing the following error ( in faultHandler() ):[code Again, the error happens to some people and not for others.Have I missed something? Would it be a machine / browser specific problem? As a sanity check the above code works with the same .swf file in chrome, ie, firefox and safari.I have read about the crossdomain.xml and don't think that is the issue as YouTube have that defined.Finally, all users (intranet app) are using IE and the same version of flash.I have been pulling my hair out the past 2 days and asking the question over and over again "Why is it only happening for some users and not for other users?"

I had this error in a Flex Application that I couldn't figure out. Every time the app attempted to access the Web Service it returned the error Security Error Accessing URL.

I am building a little Flash app that will consume some web services over HTTP. When I am in Flexbuilder and run my app there, it works fine. When I goto to my FlexBuilder project on my OS and double-click on it, it works fine. When I zip up my bin-debug file, I get this error:
Security error accessing url faultCode:Channel.Security.Error faultString: 'Security error accessing url' faultDetail:'Destination: DefaultHTTP'
So I googled that and got information on about the crossdomain.xml file. Well, I can't put a crossdomain file in the service I am calling, but I can put one somewhere else. So I put the following lines in Flex app:
Security.allowDomain("vx1391");
Security.loadPolicyFile("http://vx1391:8080/job/Remote%20FIT%20Runner/ws/trunk/flash-cross-domain.xml");

Which I know is bad in a prod enivironment, but right now I just need to get this working locally but outside of FlexBuilder.

I have built a FB4 application which accesses a .NET web service of a partner company. The app runs just fine in FB4 development environment, but won't work when published to my server. I can not figure out how to get past the following error: Security error accessing url Destination: DefaultHTTP It is unlikely that I will get a crossdomain.xml file on their server, so I'm trying to get it to work using a proxy. The proxy.php is located in the same directory as the swf, and it works just fine if I use it directly in the browser.
The following is what I currently have setup:

we have an internal webservice developed in our company and i have connected that web service using flex and am able to get all the methods/operations from that service. but wen i try to get data from methods i get the following error msg while running the applicationSecurity error accessing urlUnable to load WSDL. If currently online, verify the URI and/or format of the WSDL (http://ispl30:8080/MGEMWS/MGEMWS?wsdl)am not able to figure out what the problem is?

Preface: I'm using Flash CS4 Professional for the Mac, AS3 and Flash Player 10.
I have an RSL (runtime shared library) SWF that contains bundled classes which I store in an online location. I also have another SWF that access that runtime shared library in order to instantiate it's classes and use their methods/functions.
Here's the code of the RSL:

i'm trying to integrate with a plain http service which has both http/https flavors available for consumption. sadly they never thought of a flash client consuming these services and it will take another 6 months to roll a crossdomain xml policy file on their service (there security team has to approve the process, pm team has to include it in their roadmap and blah blah). i've already implemented the flash client which works fine from a flash ide security sandbox. is it possible to get around this crossdomain policy requirement.
my flash file will always be hosted as [URL] and i will be communicating with [URL]. i'm saying [URL] because they do some loadbalancing at the backend and allocate random servers on connection (which is fine from their server side design perspective). I tried putting following two lines in the constructor of my movie clip, but couldn't pass through the security sandbox error:

I want to distribute an SWF file to be run on computers, not the internet.However, I want to be able to access the internet through a link controlled by a button.This used to work, now I get a security warning telling me I need to change the settings on my computer.For obvious reasons I don't want to make every person who runs the swf file to have to do that!Under Windows I can create an EXE file that does not create the security warning, but on the Mac that won't help.

I have a flash game. I've been trying to connect it to a php website that uses a mySql db. It works when I "test project" it from flash, however when I run it from a player/browser it raises errors about accessing a site. What setting need I ask from my users to set in their flash player - I have personally looked for the right settings and found nothing about approving sites. Is it possible that if both my game and my php site reside in the same base url - that is same server - that this error shall not appear? I really want to test this my self, but my server is a free server and doesn't allow me to upload certain files that are heavy.

I'm working on a flash header for a website with the page links contained in an external .txt file, and I'm experiencing a strange problem.The site is both in English and Italian: I worked first on the english version, I modified the AS code for the new .txt file and then I saved the project with another name and translated all the text into Italian.I also changed the name of the external .txt file as well as all the page links contained therein.Problem is when I click a page link in the Italian version of the site, the links are the same of the English version; seems like the .swf file "remembers" the old links just as I never changed the file name.This is the "_urls_IT.txt" file:

I've built a flash photo gallery that pulls image urls from an external XML file. The gallery has different image catagories that load their own set of images.The user decided which catatgory they'd like to view by clicking an HTML button in the flash movies parent page...using javascript, this button click sends a variable to the root level of the flash movies with the new XML location...
Trouble is, onces the initial XML file is loaded, the movie has no need to refresh (and read the newly sent variable) ...*Unfortunately the catagory buttons MUST be outside the movie on the page...

I'm working on creating a portfolio that I can send to people, for fun (as I am not a true artist), and to make it easier on the people/myself, I've uploaded to photos/art to PhotoBucket, and thereby they can have the flash file, and when they click on a button it will have the content from PB, so no need to download extra images in the email. But, when I test it out, it tells me there is a security problem. So I ensured Flash was allowed to connect to PhotoBucket, and then restarted the program, as instructed.Is there anyway to "embed" the images in the flash document so no need for extra image files?[code]

I have a function (shown below) to play an external swf file within the middle of my fla file. I have buttons to navigate forward and back. I'm getting Security Sandbox Violation. How do I correct this? I do not know how to stop the image from appearing on the screen once you get to the point in the timeline where the video is. I do get my forward/back navigation buttons but once I use them to advance in the timeline, I continue to get the image found in the swf file. I've attempted the gotoandplay method to get me to the specific label areas, but I continue to get the image from the swf file. What would I use to make this image disappear from the background?

I am trying to access JS functions of the container HTML code from the swf(using External Interface). But until I add the swf in Global Security Settings it doesn't work, even from localhost. My question is how to ensure that this problem doesn't come to users who access the site. If I have to build a crossdomain.xml what should be the content? I am not accessing different domains.[code]

From what I am reading an allowscriptaccess needs to be set to always, which I can't do because there isn't embed code that is sent to Facebook during a share so I don't have control over that.

I haven't fully grasped how the flash security model works, and now I've ran into a problem. I have a base SWF that loads a game loader swf, which in turn loads the actual game.What I'm trying to do is taking a current bitmap snapshot of the running game. This works fine before the loader swf has loaded the game. When the game is loaded, I get a security violation because the game has images pulled from facebook. Is this something that can be solved on my end, or restricted by security in the game swf?

I'm having trouble with an AS3 AMF RemoteObject request that is hosted on App Engine. I have a crossdomain.xml file in the root of the domain, and also one at the remoting endpoint.Here are the contents of the root crossdomain.xml:

Loading the swf file and testing it on my machine works just fine... I think that may have something to do with me having the debugger version of Flash Player. When I push it up to App Engine to make it public, other clients access it and get a Client.Error.MessageSend Channel.Security.Error error Error #2048 url: http:[url].......I am using Flex 4 beta, and the App Engine Python runtime. I have tried full wildcard in the crossdomain, and even accessing the data endpoint at a relative URL so as to avoid this error.

I am using a zoom component which i purchased recently to load different external swfs on different button clicks. But instead of loading separate external swfs I would like to load a single swf and go to frame labels - "one", "two", etc. - I've been reading about casting the external swf as a movie clip, but I am confused how this would work with the code I have at the moment.

OK, I load an external SWF on stage.
I have a mc on there already, it's called 'darkOverlay' (instance name).
This is the code I'm trying to use to access it:

I searched for external SWF and got 500+ results but i couldnt see what i needed.Lets say you have a basic SWF file which contains a ball whose instance name is ball.Is it possible to load this SWF and access ball by name?The issue i have is that lets say you have 12 different heads... I need to load these heads in when required.. but each head.swf has a sprite called skinColor. need my main movie to have access to the skin layer sprite so i can Tween it. SWFs have much more details, but the skin sprite is on the bottom layer... so i cant just "color tween" the entire SWF.
