Flash :: Accessing High Scores Site Raises Security Errors

I have a flash game. I've been trying to connect it to a php website that uses a mySql db. It works when I "test project" it from flash, however when I run it from a player/browser it raises errors about accessing a site. What setting need I ask from my users to set in their flash player - I have personally looked for the right settings and found nothing about approving sites. Is it possible that if both my game and my php site reside in the same base url - that is same server - that this error shall not appear? I really want to test this my self, but my server is a free server and doesn't allow me to upload certain files that are heavy.

I have a simple flash based quiz game with simple score var and percentage var. I am wanting to a high score function to it as motivation to my kids by creating healthy competition with high scores. This is not a web based game. I found many PHP high score tutorials but wont work for me.

I know this is a subject that gets covered a lot as i have found a ton of tutorials that show a million different ways to create a high scores board on a flash game. So I decided to go out on a limb and pick a tutorial out to try. Well I have now tried 3 different ones and have yet to get a working high scores board with my game. [URL]
That is the link to the most recent attempts to creat my high scores board. When I finished everything the way the tutorial said it seemed like everything would work and then it just didnt. After spending oh about 40 plus hours trying to make a high scores board I am getting very frustrated. My game is scripted in AS2 and I have access to mysql and can set up unlimited databases.

I've been asked if I can build a game, which lots of people will play and the overall winner will get a prize.The game part is simple enough, and I know enough PHP/MySQL to put something together to store the results etc. But is there something already available which could do this part for me, it would save a lot of time, and would probably be better than something I build myself.

I need a way to be httpClient. I found some implementations - but I am looking for something built-in for posting to an HTTP server. In order to make it "relativley" secure - I figured I would keep a password file/or a const variable. Read it, hash it, send it to the server. The server will have the same password, and so it will too hash it. Is this reasonible? I understand the problem of reverse engineering etc. What do you think? How can I access MD5 etc. in flash?

find a piece of code that creates a high score list of say, the 10 best scores for a Flash game, and stores it inside the .fla. I'm aware of the fact it'd be much handier via PHP and a MySQL database, but I'm making a game for a contest in which it isn't allowed to use any additional files (also no txt files) next to the main game swf .

I have some code which fills a high scores table.. we've decided to give away a prize to the top ten people in the high scores table.. the problem is that people are playing repeatedly and fillnig the high scores table with their name, this makes it unfair to other players as they can't manage to get onto the table Is there a way I can modify my code to ignore the same name should it appear and skip to the next non repeated name(pseudo) and score ??

I can find many AS2 tutorials on how to make a high scores table using PHP and sometimes SQL, but none for AS3. a resource showing me how to submit the user's score, and if it's in the top ten, show it on that list? I have the local high score just set to a variable, but would love for that to be passed to my SQL table.

I have some Flash application that loads data (external images, SWFs, XMLs) from the same domain. And it was fine until client decided to add load balancers for server. Now we have a number of complaints from users about security errors. It looks like application can't load external resources treating them as resources from different domain without crossdomain.xml.
One of users that have this problem provided us with following info:
Browser: IE 8.0
OS: Windows 7
Flash Player version: 10.1.102.64
I have spoken with server administrator and he told me that we have load balancers that work like Round-robin DNS. In its simplest implementation Round-robin DNS works by responding to DNS requests not only with a single IP address, but a list of IP addresses of several servers that host identical services. The order in which IP addresses from the list are returned is the basis for the term round robin. With each DNS response, the IP address sequence in the list is permuted. Usually, basic IP clients attempt connections with the first address returned from a DNS query so that on different connection attempts clients would receive service from different providers, thus distributing the overall load among servers.
Finally we have: SWF loaded from IP1, data requested from IP2, crossdomain.xml loaded from IP1. All of them can be accessed through the same domain, but have different IPs.Because of IPs difference, Flash Player ignores crossdomain.xml and triggers security error.I'm not sure it happens exactly like that, since for older versions of Flash Player I have found the following words:
The basis of domain comparison is the domain name, not IP address.
So, I have two questions after all of that: How exactly domain comparison for HTTP-connections works in latest versions of Flash Player? Can two resources obtained by address with same domain name but from different IPs treatened as obtained from different domains? Maybe someone have info about DNS rebinding in different browsers?

I would like to create a application in AS3.0 that going to publish to website where I'm trying to prevent from other people to download and decrypt. But of course, i need to design the application in such a way that it doesn't contain any sensitive data in case someone successfully download and cracked it.
However, i'm not sure whether it is really safe to include sensitive data by using dynamic external script (e.g. putting "include Data.as" on action). I understand that only during compilation this Data.as is being dynamic loaded but I'm not too sure people can decrypt and see the content of Data.as by some other way to download and crack from my application.

A HTML page is loaded from a.com
The HTML embeds a Flash client from b.com
HTML contains a Javascript function that makes a connection to a.com, ie the origin of the HTML, not the origin of Flash
The Flash calls that Javascript function
Question: Do I need to have a crossdomain.xml in a.com?

I have built a FB4 application which accesses a .NET web service of a partner company. The app runs just fine in FB4 development environment, but won't work when published to my server. I can not figure out how to get past the following error: Security error accessing url Destination: DefaultHTTP It is unlikely that I will get a crossdomain.xml file on their server, so I'm trying to get it to work using a proxy. The proxy.php is located in the same directory as the swf, and it works just fine if I use it directly in the browser.
The following is what I currently have setup:

we have an internal webservice developed in our company and i have connected that web service using flex and am able to get all the methods/operations from that service. but wen i try to get data from methods i get the following error msg while running the applicationSecurity error accessing urlUnable to load WSDL. I'm using the Youtube AS3 Player API to load video's in a Flash Project. I get this really annoying Error when loading the Player swf:
SecurityError: Error #2047: Security sandbox violation: parent: http://www.degoudenglimlach.be/main.swf cannot access http://www.youtube.com/[[IMPORT]]/s.ytimg.com/yt/swf/watch_as3-vflbgr4dW.swf.
I tried adding the following to my code before loading the swf but it doesn't make any difference:

i'm trying to integrate with a plain http service which has both http/https flavors available for consumption. sadly they never thought of a flash client consuming these services and it will take another 6 months to roll a crossdomain xml policy file on their service (there security team has to approve the process, pm team has to include it in their roadmap and blah blah). i've already implemented the flash client which works fine from a flash ide security sandbox. is it possible to get around this crossdomain policy requirement.
my flash file will always be hosted as [URL] and i will be communicating with [URL]. i'm saying [URL] because they do some loadbalancing at the backend and allocate random servers on connection (which is fine from their server side design perspective). I tried putting following two lines in the constructor of my movie clip, but couldn't pass through the security sandbox error:

I'm trying to use the Youtube Chromeless Player (the new AS3 version) in a Flex 4-based project. I'm using the examples provided by Google, but I'm not having any luck. The player loads, but it can't be interacted with. I'm receiving repeated security errors just from mousing over the player:

I make my first flash site. I've insert images in 72 dpi. The site is ok on the web! Now, I want print the site pages in high resolution. Is possible to create the .fla file with image in 300 dpi (so I can print from original .swf files with images in high resolution) and ask to flash to reduce the images resolution in automatic only in the final publication?

When I visit a site I built some time ago in IE, I get the message bar at the bottom of the browser pop up saying that the site wants to run Flash. This is fine, except for the fact that there is flash in the website whatsoever.

Client has a flash navigation menu on his website. When the site is accessed via [URL] the hardcoded links in the flash nav load pages properly. When accessing the website via the [url] the site navigation links can not load the proper pages and instead just redirect the user to the root domain.
I assume this can be fixed with a change to the .htaccess but I do not know how flash handles these links.

so i was trying to lop an Internet radio player, that will connect to different shoutcast servers, and play the radio, of course in development time everything was ok, now the time came for publishing just to be surprised with this messageof course i know what to do, but the end user will most likely won't know, and also i think this is a set back for developing such stuff, i also once tried to develop a twitter widget same thing happened when trying to communicate with twitter output, to work around that i could load the xml file from twitter into a local file using php, but i see a lot of flash files that uses flickr, twitter, and other sites, so how do these widgets work without triggering the security message,

I am very new to flex, i have created a simple login page in flex and created a webproject in Eclipse having a jsp page. i have put that jsp page in tomcat webapps. Now when i run an application of login from FlashBuilder it runs fine as i have given the ip e.g [url]... and passing it as a url in HttpService and it worked fine. but when i put my login.swf file in webapps same in that folder where that jsp resides and un e.g [url]... it displays the page but when i click on the login button it gives me with this error "Security error accessing url"

I am building a little Flash app that will consume some web services over HTTP. When I am in Flexbuilder and run my app there, it works fine. When I goto to my FlexBuilder project on my OS and double-click on it, it works fine. When I zip up my bin-debug file, I get this error:
Security error accessing url faultCode:Channel.Security.Error faultString: 'Security error accessing url' faultDetail:'Destination: DefaultHTTP'
So I googled that and got information on about the crossdomain.xml file. Well, I can't put a crossdomain file in the service I am calling, but I can put one somewhere else. So I put the following lines in Flex app:

Security.loadPolicyFile("http://vx1391:8080/job/Remote%20FIT%20Runner/ws/trunk/flash-cross-domain.xml");

Which I know is bad in a prod enivironment, but right now I just need to get this working locally but outside of FlexBuilder.

I have an RSL (runtime shared library) SWF that contains bundled classes which I store in an online location. I also have another SWF that access that runtime shared library in order to instantiate it's classes and use their methods/functions.

I want to distribute an SWF file to be run on computers, not the internet.However, I want to be able to access the internet through a link controlled by a button.This used to work, now I get a security warning telling me I need to change the settings on my computer.For obvious reasons I don't want to make every person who runs the swf file to have to do that!Under Windows I can create an EXE file that does not create the security warning, but on the Mac that won't help.
