I'm picking up where someone else left off, and I don't know the first thing about Action scripts or PHP. I have a flash form (Name, Email, Subject, Message) and I want to add a checkbox for "Add me to your mailing list" I've tried to break it down and logically figure it out, but no such luck, guess I'm not that smart.

I am trying to add a checkbox to the form that has to be checked before the send button becomes active. Like (I Agree).The code for the whole form is already in place. I just need a couple of lines of AS, on the first frame, to keep the "Send" button from working until the checkbox is clicked.
View 4 RepliesI got this:- I created a form mailer .fla and Im using php (loadVariables("action.php", OST");- everything works great, if I embed the swf into html.My problem:- I created a main .fla, where Im using a container for the form mailer .swf- in this case, the action.php file (residing in the same folder with the .swf files) doesnt compile anymore, so, mails wont be sent.

So how do i do it? And yes, i have seen all the tutorials they have here about the form mailers. I also tryed to put the the hidden fields has variables in flash which again did'nt work....

It only wants to work by itself, im a novice at flash/actionscript but im wondering if this is causing the problem by trying to get to the root of my main movie instead of the actual mailer.swf?

I am converting an html form to a flash form. I am not so good with AS3 and it's the first time I have to create forms so it was quite difficult for me. I am almost done, I did the text fields and the comboboxes, so everything except the checkboxes works.

I am trying to use checkbox in a contact form (mail sign up) with php. I managed successfully to read the name and email from the form but struggling to extract information from checkbox. I have 4 checkbox options. They are store location. So user can select Location 1 and/or Location 2 etc... (up to 5). How to extract the data from these checkbox and make them available to be sent via php?

There are some input fields and one check box. the name of the check box is "Terms and Conditions"What I like to do is to check the check box as an acceptance of the ""Terms and Conditions" and then the user can fire the mail form. This PHP contact form works well and is very simple. I have one checkbox in the fla file. However, it keeps displaying 'No' in the email message field, whether the checkbox is selected or not. It should display 'Yes' if the checkbox is selected, and 'No' if the checkbox is unselected.Here is the PHP:

I'm creating my first Flash website using AS3, and it's really basic. I would like to put in a contact form, which I have made. I've converted the 3 fields (name_field, email_field and message_field) to a symbol (movie) called 'form'. I've also got a send button, which is called send_btn.
I've set up the Action Script so that when the button is clicked, the user is taken to a confirmation-style page. All I want to do is called a php script (I'm comfortable with the code for that) called 'mailer.php' and send the three variables from the form to it before then loading the confirmation page.

I currently have the checkbox nested within two movieclips and need it to display the block of text upon click event in a dynamic text field that is found on the main timeline in its own layer. Ideally I would like the block of text to appear where the text curser is currently in the dynamic text field. I plan to have a lot of checkboxes each containing their own block of text to display.

I followed a tutorial from this site to figure out the code (I am very new to actionscript).I've entered the if and else statements in to the code. My problem is that if when I test the file if a field is blank it will bring up the necessary error message but it will still send the email and when it goes to the success frame, the error message is still on the pageke a look at my code and let me know what I'm doing wrong?

I have a super involved and somewhat silly site I've been working on for a long time piecing together fragments of AS2 code and modifying them to the best of my limited ability.The site is here:http:[url]....I am finally adding the last steps, a series of contact forms with a PHP script in the back end. Anyway, I implemented a form script and have it triggered by clicking the "CONTACT" button you can see on the lower bar. So, click contact and once the form opens (an external SWF loaded into an MC), type away and everything works fine unless you use the letter "f" in either upper or lowercase. It causes the screen to flash and for the form input to lose focus.It works (in that you can enter everything normally -- the form doesn't function, but that's just the PHP which I have yet to edit.)
