View 2 RepliesI got this:- I created a form mailer .fla and Im using php (loadVariables("action.php", OST");- everything works great, if I embed the swf into html.My problem:- I created a main .fla, where Im using a container for the form mailer .swf- in this case, the action.php file (residing in the same folder with the .swf files) doesnt compile anymore, so, mails wont be sent.

So how do i do it? And yes, i have seen all the tutorials they have here about the form mailers. I also tryed to put the the hidden fields has variables in flash which again did'nt work....

I have a flash form (Name, Email, Subject, Message) and I want to add a checkbox for "Add me to your mailing list" I've tried to break it down and logically figure it out, but no such luck, guess I'm not that smart.

It only wants to work by itself, im a novice at flash/actionscript but im wondering if this is causing the problem by trying to get to the root of my main movie instead of the actual mailer.swf?

View 5 RepliesI'm creating a website for a friend which it's being made using Dynamic Texts (he wants different switchable languages).Problems come when submitting the Form... I've used the same Form model (formmail) for other websites which did not use any Dynamic Text and they worked without problems.
The exact problem is that the submitted Form is not received (don't think it's even sent) to the specified email address. However, if the same website does not contain any dynamic text, then the form works properly and the query is received at my mailbox.
Anyone know how to make a flash form submit data to an email address using AS2 and php.

I know that the thread concept (as a class) does not exist in as3, but I don't understand very well the internal execution when I'm sending/receiving data via sockects.timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, endData);socket.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.SOCKET_DATA, receiveData);(The former event detector is just for sending data every X ms. I'm creating my first Flash website using AS3, and it's really basic. I would like to put in a contact form, which I have made. I've converted the 3 fields (name_field, email_field and message_field) to a symbol (movie) called 'form'. I've also got a send button, which is called send_btn.
I've set up the Action Script so that when the button is clicked, the user is taken to a confirmation-style page. All I want to do is called a php script (I'm comfortable with the code for that) called 'mailer.php' and send the three variables from the form to it before then loading the confirmation page.

I have a BUNCH of bumpers of four types bounceUp, bounceDown, bounceLeft, bounceRight. during a collision which you hit determines the bounce so they always do the same thing so here's my question.....can i just name every bounceUp instance the same thing and then just add that one instance name to the list the collision detector checks?
i just dont wanna go through and name a hundred each of bounceUp s and bounceDown s individually as the potential for screaming increases proportionally.......

I am having some issues with a php email form that I am using in my AS3 project. the form works perfect and all communication is good.however when the user is on the page and wants to tab to the next text field it jumps to one of my hyperlinks on the same page and not to the next text field down on the php form.
is there any way to stop this from happening.I have tried placing the php form on a seperate layer in a seperate mc and I have done the same with the hyperlinks .you can see what I mean by visiting this development site.(after entering go to contact)http:[url].....
I have only two fields Name and Email in a Order form and a PayPal button for payment at PayPal ( into my account).I can do the mail portion but have no idea about PayPal code, however on search here I found one code and after pasting this one to the PayPal button it redirects to my PayPal account.But the question is anybody can post a message and leave the site without paying me. How can I do this thing so that the user will forced to pay before posting the mail form.
View 1 RepliesI have a super involved and somewhat silly site I've been working on for a long time piecing together fragments of AS2 code and modifying them to the best of my limited ability.The site is here:http:[url]....I am finally adding the last steps, a series of contact forms with a PHP script in the back end. Anyway, I implemented a form script and have it triggered by clicking the "CONTACT" button you can see on the lower bar. So, click contact and once the form opens (an external SWF loaded into an MC), type away and everything works fine unless you use the letter "f" in either upper or lowercase. It causes the screen to flash and for the form input to lose focus.It works (in that you can enter everything normally -- the form doesn't function, but that's just the PHP which I have yet to edit.)

I'm struggling to get the form to to go to a new frame once the form button has been submitted. [URL]Using ActionScript 2.0 The submit button is at this following path:

The next from frame that i'm asking it to go to, is directly after the txt8 MovieClip. Both the the txt8 MovieClip and NextFrame have stop(); code on them.The form submits all the info into the database, I just can't get it to load the next frame.
