I followed this tutorial for a form mailerHowever when I try to load this from my main swf into a movie clip holder, it no longer works. It only wants to work by itself, im a novice at flash/actionscript but im wondering if this is causing the problem by trying to get to the root of my main movie instead of the actual mailer.swf?

have been trying to make a form mailer in flash.The form mailer for me is provided by [URL] it gives me the codes to send stuff from my web site to my email.This is the code that formbuddy has given me

the USERNAME value is for me to add my formbuddy username after i have signed up with [URL] .Now my problem is that i dont know how to put the hidden fields in flash, especially the <input type="hidden" name="username" value="USERNAME">. So how do i do it? And yes, i have seen all the tutorials they have here about the form mailers. I also tryed to put the the hidden fields has variables in flash which again did'nt work....
I got this:- I created a form mailer .fla and Im using php (loadVariables("action.php", OST");- everything works great, if I embed the swf into html.My problem:- I created a main .fla, where Im using a container for the form mailer .swf- in this case, the action.php file (residing in the same folder with the .swf files) doesnt compile anymore, so, mails wont be sent.

I'm having some strange luck in building an image slide show.I load the image paths into an array from an XML page and then step through the array elements w/ forward and back buttons.I have an empty image clip on the stage where I create an empty movie clip inside each time a new image is loaded.I load the image into the second movie clip like this:[code]Now, 98% of the time this works perfectly, but there is some certain times where the image resizing is completely ignored and the image gets loaded as it's normal size.Can anyone see why the image sizing get's ignored in some instance?

(Tutorial from, also using XML box resize tutorial to load from with XML) The form works, as far as sending the email correcly, but it does not goto the next frame that says with back button, so it may be confusing to the user if it doesn't do anything when the click send.On the form it has this actionscript attached:

I figured out how to make the external SWF files show on its own layer below other layers on the main time line of the Main SWF. The problem I came across today though, is that buttons and text fields within the external SWF files don't work when they are loaded onto the "Main" SWF. They only work when I open the external SWF files individually. I really need to figure out how to make buttons and the text fields within the external SWF files when loaded onto the "MAIN" SWF.

The form works on its own when I open that SWF individually, but when I try to load that SWF file with the form as a page on my "Main" SWF, the mouse doesn't even recognize that the submit button is a button, and it doesn't allow me to click on the text fields. I'm trying to create a movie clip on my my main timeline that has a movie clip button within it that pops up a box in the middle of the site that contains text and links. On Frame 1 I have the Up state, frame 2 the roll over state, and frame 3 my Down State (where Box appears).

I've been trying to load a movie clip from a movie clip that has been loaded. I am trying to provide a simple means to change the look / feel of the flash application by placing the graphics and controls into a second swf. Each different screen is represented by a different movie clip that is in the second swf. So I've got app.swf loading ui.swf. I want to load screen1_mc from ui.swf.
The app.swf is loaded by a master swf. There may be multiple copies of the app.swf that can be loaded by the master.swf and each app.swf could be configured differently. For each "unique" app.swf it is stored under a unique folder that is not known to me in advance. Since I don't know the unique folder in advance, I can't use import / export for runtime sharing. Is there any way to load the movie clips from the loaded movie clip? (Basically, I want to treat the ui.swf as an extension to the library.)
I'm working on a flash site and I'm having some trouble with the programming for it. I'm not so great at action script, so I'm hoping that my troubles are caused by my own stupidity and that some cool smart person will have an answer for me.
So, I have a main menu flash file that functions like the one in this tutorial:

What I want to do is have it load a swf that functions exactly the same (buttons that load external clips with transitions) as the main swf- this is a sub page menu. So, in theory, the sub menu page should load the final content, and three swfs would be seen stacked ontop of each other.
I changed the instance names in the sub menu file to be different than that in the main menu file. This fixed the original problem of it loading the content clip into the clip that the sub menu should stay in. Now, It loads the sub menu just fine, but then it gets stuck and never loads the content. The sub menu buttons will not function at all. Independent of the main menu, the sub menu file works perfectly What can I do??? Does it have anything to do with the "_root"? I never understood the concept, so I'm having trouble with it.
I'm a total begginer in flash and action script, I do have some knowledge in other programming languages.By trying to help a friend I added a contact form in his company website, that was made by someone else.his site is full flash with a index frame that loads several pages.After I built the new contact.swf and tested locally and also hosted by accessing it straight from the browser and embeded I tried to replace it with the old contact.swf that had no contact form.During the tests, everything was fine but when included in the site the form is not functioning.The form has a few rules that prevent empty fields with a green text warning. when I access it embeded separatelly in a web page it works, when I access it loaded by index.swf it does nothinh even if I press the submit button.So I assume the problem is in the index.swf action script.the button that loads the contact page has this code:

I have created a main swf file which holds a movie container which other swf's load into. One of the sections has a form in it. When I preview this section on its own the form works, but when I preview through the main swf file (or online) the text fields cannot be typed into. How can I fix this? View 6 RepliesI have a form with 5 mandatory fields and 2 of which are combo boxes.My problem is I can't get the required fields to work, the form works perfectly fine and goes to the form success frame and sends out all the information in the fields (even if they are left blank)I am on AS2.0. The registration form is a movie clip itself with the send button on the same level and not inside the movie clip.

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to adjust "Senocular" email contact form to work inside a movie clip.http[url]....I placed it in the MC, changed the target path where it applies in the action script and for the most part it works. I'm able to receive emails from the form.However, i am not able to receive any of the typed information. Instead, i get "< >" in the email where content should be. It seams that the text field variable are not being passed off to the PHP script. The form works fine when not inside a MC and i haven't touched the PHP, only the target path? I am targeting a a movie clip. The problem is that all the syntax I have found for targetting clips looks like this: _root.sample_mc.sample2.mc. etc. The problem is, my target clip is in an swf that I've loaded into a container clip from my main timeline. So, essentially, I have a home.swf that loads menu.swf into a container called 'location'. In menu.swf, I have an MC called center, which contains the MC I am targetting called 'target'.

I'm trying to use the scroll pane component for the first time, and I've spent most of the day getting nowhere. Based on my experience with other components and with loading content into movie clips, I expected that I would point my scroll pane to its content and be off and running, but that hasn't happened.

i have a chat page in flash, that works.but when i load the chat true a loader (loadmovie) it works but only the cam is not working (own cam).in my chat.swf this works

I am creating a button with a 20 frame disolve into a page upon entry.I want the button to play a 20 frame disolve back to it's original state when the user rolls out.I want the movie clip to play from frame 21 to the end of the mc and then become inactive.I can get the button to disolve out but the user will not be able to use it after that first roll over.I was thinking of trying to add a time delay from when the first action of the rollout occurs to when the disolve is complete.How do I include a 20 frame delay in the roll out sequence?[code]

I need to create an application where a number of buttons keep scrolling horizontally. For that I created a movie clip. In that I create a number of buttons. They scroll on click of a button. My problem is I changed the color of the button in the over state. But while testing the movie, the button color is not changing. I thought that the problem was due to the fact that the buttons are in the movie clip.
