ActionScript 2.0 :: Movie Clip Resize Not Working When Image Is Loaded
Oct 25, 2007
I'm having some strange luck in building an image slide show.I load the image paths into an array from an XML page and then step through the array elements w/ forward and back buttons.I have an empty image clip on the stage where I create an empty movie clip inside each time a new image is loaded.I load the image into the second movie clip like this:[code]Now, 98% of the time this works perfectly, but there is some certain times where the image resizing is completely ignored and the image gets loaded as it's normal size.Can anyone see why the image sizing get's ignored in some instance?
I'm trying to resize an image loaded in a movie clip, so that any image I load will always fit correctly in my movie.The script is pretty simple, it reads an xml file where they should be 6 records. Loads the image in the Thumb attribute in on of the 6 containers eg. _root.screen.Event1
Code:
for (i=0; i < 6; i++){ MyEvent = Event[i].attributes ; _root.screen["Event"+i].Title.text = MyEvent.Title ;
[code]....
It works but not as expected. It looks like only the container is scaled down not the image really.
I've made a slide show and I've been successful so far. However, I'd like to add some thumbnails right below the original image (original size).Here are some specifications of the thumbnails:Size: 50 x 50 px.The image sources of the thumbnails and the original image are the same.Therefore, I'd like to resize only the movie clips for the thumbnails because the actual image file dimensions won't be changed.I tried simply setting the width and height of the movie clip to 50 but it lost quality and you get jagged lines in the image. Does anyone know a good algorithm to resize an image inside a movie clip proportionally and without losing quality?Btw, I'm using an XML files to store the images so you have to include the Loaders and stuff, what I really need to know is how to resize images without losing quality.
I followed this tutorial for a form mailerHowever when I try to load this from my main swf into a movie clip holder, it no longer works. It only wants to work by itself, im a novice at flash/actionscript but im wondering if this is causing the problem by trying to get to the root of my main movie instead of the actual mailer.swf?
I'm not sure if this can be done, but I'll try my luck here I've loaded external jpg image using loadClip method... Now i want to attach the same image to another dynamically created movie clip. I know i can attach images from library but i need it on this way.
It have to be attached as JPG. I know for bitmap data class and I am already using it but don't know how to attach jpg.
i've looked at several ways to centre a dynamically loaded image into a movie clip for the purpose of zooming the image once loaded. I am loading multiple images (16 in total) at a time and they are all 360 x 360 in size. So what i want to do is set 180,180 to be the centre of the loaded image.
This sounds easy to me but in practice i'm finding it impossible (although i know it isn't as i've seen similar examples doing this).
Some images I load dynamically are too big so I would like to scale them to fit the stage.
[Code]...
this returns 0. Why does it return 0 when the image loaded is obviously much larger then 0 pixels. How do I change the width and height of imgCont to a specified dimension.
So this is loading images by looping through a xml file and displaying them on the stage... The images load fine only they're way too big. Problem is when I add .width to myLoader the images disappear all together.
ActionScript Code: var xml:XML; var xmlList:XMLList; var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("data.xml")); var myLoader:Loader = new Loader; [Code] .....
my problem is that i need to make a reisze, cause the screen resolution for other users. My main and news movie works perfect, but the others movies re-scale everything bigger. The problem of the external loaded movie is: this movie needs the funktion:
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale"; Stage.align = "TL";
If i dont have this code inside the movie is not going to resize fullscreen into the main movie. Inside this movie im scalling photos and some mc's You can take a look what i mean under: [URL]
If you take a look to the bar where the Number of pictures (30) are you will see that the lower bar and the pictures is not going to scale to fill the full screen if i delete the this code;
I am trying to resize an image and display it on stage but i get the.......... error 1119: Access of possibly undefined property bitmapData through a reference with static type flash.display:BitmapData........this is driving me a bit mad because i got most of the code out of essential actionscript 3.0.....I've tried to debug it myself but my debugging skills aren't very good yet
Am struggling to find the right as3 code to resize an image once it is dynamically called into the stage and placed in a MC. I am loading using:
var myLoader :Loader = new Loader(); mc.addChild(myLoader); var url :URLRequest = new URLRequest("myimage.jpg"); myLoader .load(url );
The stage will eventually open up into fullscreen (works ok) so I need to keep the image in its original size which is much bigger than the stage. What I need to do is shrink it on loading to the same height as the stage whilst keeping the width in proportion (oh and center it). I have tried all sorts of codes but cant find anything to work as all I have managed to do is resize the MC containing the image but NOT the image itself.
So I'm loading a really big pic in this mx:Image manteinAspectRatio enabled with a height constraint and as usual it doesn't work (Flex is definitely not for me):
I'm loading several images inside a frame, but the images will have different aspect ratios. My goal is to load all images so that the width or height does not exceed the frame. The 'difficult' part is to maintain the aspect ratio of the image. I'm not aware of any _scale function that scales both the height and width of an image (so the aspect ratio is maintained), something like that would be useful.
I'm trying to create a movie clip on my my main timeline that has a movie clip button within it that pops up a box in the middle of the site that contains text and links. On Frame 1 I have the Up state, frame 2 the roll over state, and frame 3 my Down State (where Box appears).
[Code]...
The problem is that on the main time line, the button is clickable but doesnt do anything
I've been trying to load a movie clip from a movie clip that has been loaded. I am trying to provide a simple means to change the look / feel of the flash application by placing the graphics and controls into a second swf. Each different screen is represented by a different movie clip that is in the second swf. So I've got app.swf loading ui.swf. I want to load screen1_mc from ui.swf.
The app.swf is loaded by a master swf. There may be multiple copies of the app.swf that can be loaded by the master.swf and each app.swf could be configured differently. For each "unique" app.swf it is stored under a unique folder that is not known to me in advance. Since I don't know the unique folder in advance, I can't use import / export for runtime sharing. Is there any way to load the movie clips from the loaded movie clip? (Basically, I want to treat the ui.swf as an extension to the library.)
I'm working on a flash site and I'm having some trouble with the programming for it. I'm not so great at action script, so I'm hoping that my troubles are caused by my own stupidity and that some cool smart person will have an answer for me. So, I have a main menu flash file that functions like the one in this tutorial: http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/p...transition.htm I set it to load various swf files and it's works just fine. What I want to do is have it load a swf that functions exactly the same (buttons that load external clips with transitions) as the main swf- this is a sub page menu. So, in theory, the sub menu page should load the final content, and three swfs would be seen stacked ontop of each other.
I changed the instance names in the sub menu file to be different than that in the main menu file. This fixed the original problem of it loading the content clip into the clip that the sub menu should stay in. Now, It loads the sub menu just fine, but then it gets stuck and never loads the content. The sub menu buttons will not function at all. Independent of the main menu, the sub menu file works perfectly What can I do??? Does it have anything to do with the "_root"? I never understood the concept, so I'm having trouble with it.
I have a movie clip that contains a swf file in my .FLA file . How can i enable the movie clip so that when the screen is resized either bigger or smaller, the movie clip enlarges/shrinks accordingly.
I'm using the following code to load a .jpg into a movie clip container the problem is I need the container to be a specific size I tried loader.content.width = 50; and loader.content.height = 50; the height part works but the width doesn't work my image just expands beyond the stage width.How do i set the size of the movie clip container?I don't care if the image gets distorted i have a resize script for the images before they are loaded into flash.[code]
So I have a movieclip that I am dynamically adding to the stage when a user clicks a particular button. There are multiple button that each result in the movieclip getting attached to the staged and scaled to a different particular size. Instead of attaching a new instance of the movieclip every time a button is clicked, I only want to attach a new movieclip the first time one of the buttons are clicked and then scale the dynamically added movie to the size specified in the functions for all of the subsequent button clicks. To be clear, I want to attach the movieclip on the first click and then scale it for all of the subsequent clicks.
Imagine I have a movie clip on the main timeline that has text in it. If I use the free transform tool on this clip, it resizes the movie and the text within.
However, if I resize the clip using AS2 e.g. clip._height = x; then the clip is resized but the text isn't.
Is there an easy way of achieving the effect that the transform tool has using AScript or do I have to set all the text params separately when I resize the movie
i have a button thats adds a movie clip to the stage...the movie clip height is bigger than the stage. is it possible to have the stage "extend" when you click the button to show the whole movie clip?
ActionScript Code: addPic.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, addImage); function addImage(event:MouseEvent):void{ var mc:MovieClip = new testClip(); this.addChild(mc); }
kinda like this i guess [URL] when you click on the flash on that page it expands and stuff
Code: Stage.scaleMode = "noScale"; var myListener:Object = new Object(); myListener.onResize = function() {
[Code]...
I want the movie clip to be at the bottom right corner or the stage at all times when the browser is resized. The name is the clip is bottom right piece. The flash movie takes up the whole browser with no scale. The movie clip is always over or under the point in space its suppose to be. When i trace the value or the movie clip's _x... its the same as the Stage.width... but it doesnt portray that visually on the stage...
Dear members and experts in Kirupa forum, first I apologize because I only join this forum just to ask this question . I already come across some flash forum but can't get the answer to my problem. If somebody from this forum come up with a solution, I may have myself a frequently visited forum. It works, of course... but that's not the problem.The problem occurs when I want to have button scrBtn that can toggle between Full Screen view and normal view.It is obvious that the image that I loaded in the movie clip will get pixelated.That's why when I click the scrBtn button here is the script:
I am targeting a a movie clip. The problem is that all the syntax I have found for targetting clips looks like this: _root.sample_mc.sample2.mc. etc. The problem is, my target clip is in an swf that I've loaded into a container clip from my main timeline. So, essentially, I have a home.swf that loads menu.swf into a container called 'location'. In menu.swf, I have an MC called center, which contains the MC I am targetting called 'target'.
The movie clip containing the photo resizes based on the size of the browser window, and the other two movie clips are positioned based on the outside edges.
