ActionScript 2.0 :: Movie Clip Position On Browser Resize?
Mar 20, 2008
why isn't this working?
Code:
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
var myListener:Object = new Object();
myListener.onResize = function() {
[Code]...
I want the movie clip to be at the bottom right corner or the stage at all times when the browser is resized. The name is the clip is bottom right piece. The flash movie takes up the whole browser with no scale. The movie clip is always over or under the point in space its suppose to be. When i trace the value or the movie clip's _x... its the same as the Stage.width... but it doesnt portray that visually on the stage...
The movie clip containing the photo resizes based on the size of the browser window, and the other two movie clips are positioned based on the outside edges.
how can i position an externally loaded MC on browser size were if the browser is resized the mc follows and stays in view instead of been shifted out of view
i can get it to work if my MC is on stage but it dont work if the MC was loaded externally it loads but does not position/follow the browser edge and goes out of view below is the AS2 code
Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";Stage.align = "TL"; var stageListener:Object = new Object ();stageListener.onResize = positionContent;Stage.addListener (stageListener);positionContent
I am having problems changing text x,y position in a browser window as the browser is resized. Ultimately I plan on positioning an image but just using the text for now. I use the following code:
Code: stage.addEventListener(Event.RESIZE, wResize); function wResize(e:Event):void {
i'd like the contents of my swf to re-position itself in relation to the resize of any browser window with easing here's examples of what i.m aiming for only my swf is aligned top left }}} [URL]
I have several movie clips on the stage. They are draggable. I want to be able to drag the movie clip, then when it is dropped, a copy of that movie clip will appear where the first one had been, and the first one will just stay where it is on the screen.
However, I'm running into problems with the syntax.
When I resize the browser it calculates the new center and eases the movie into position. It also aligns with the left edge when the window gets smaller than the movie. This has probably been discussed somewhere, but I can't find anything.
When the browser is resized, how do I make the movie resize?in the HTML parameters, I put width 100% and height 100% and in the .swf file I have: Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";Stage.align = "TL";ow, I notice if I were to shrink or make my browser stretch out. The swf doesn't resize on it's own to fill the space when larger or resize when you shrink the browser width/height. I've been told to use a listener, but I have no idea how it works, I've tried putting in scripts with no luck.
is there anyway to have a published flash swf fill 100% of the browser? especially when the broswer resizes, so does the movie to match the browser size?
IE 8 Flash CS4 v10 Windows XP Home SP3 (NOTE: The word "Resize" refers to an HTML change of the movie size; it does not refer to a Window resize)
Objective: Display a transparent 800x600 flash movie in IE, stretching movie to 100% width and height of webpage but keeping the objects within the movie from getting re-scaled. Objects are re-positioned at runtime via ActionScript with values meant to be relative to stage dimensions.
Problem: The movie resize is messing up the object re-positioning. The movie is indeed stretching to 100% of the width & height of the browser window's client area, but the objects are repositioned relative to something else (perhaps screen dimensions, but not sure). Result: Objects which were programatically positioned relative to original stage size are spaced way too far apart in IE, in some cases off the screen entirely, though they were not like this in the Flash editor.Question(s): Why are objects which were positioned within the original stage dimensions being kicked off the browser screen while the movie itself remains entirely on-screen even after resize? What dimensions/values are guiding the automatic post-resize repositioning of the objects? (These proportions appear to be different from the change in proportions of the movie itself.)
I am desperately trying to make the movies in the attached file resize with the web browser but anchored to the white line on the left. The coloured buttons should not resize but move left or right to align with the edges of the pictures.
I'm working on a school project. It contains a main section which has 7 buttons. Each of these buttons is a character which you can zoom in to, see who they are, click and see a small cinematic/animation and proceed to it's respective section. I have a couple of concerns.
1. What is the best way of loading my project? I've been thinking of using the loadMovie and have placeholders, each section with a progress bar. what should I load when?
2. how can I make the flash movie resize in the browser window using actionscript ? so that I have no problems with screen resolution sizes. I use 1280x1024, but I guess there are still people on 800x600(which is lame) Here is an example of the resizing I mean: [URL]
Is it possible to do what this tutorial shows but instead of having your mcs be positioned related to the stage, have them be positioned related to the browser window?
I added a Menu_mc on my stage. Initially, this should be at the center of the stage and when I click on it, it will tween on the upper left corner of the browser. However, when I resize the browser, the Menu_mc goes back to the center of the screen.
I have tried separating a different actionscript file where it is specifically for initialization of the object and another one for resizing. And then when I call it on my main AS file it goes like this:
Code: // Add the symbols to stage var Menu_mc = new Menu_MC(); addChild(Menu_mc);
I have a movie clip that contains a swf file in my .FLA file . How can i enable the movie clip so that when the screen is resized either bigger or smaller, the movie clip enlarges/shrinks accordingly.
I'm trying to resize an image loaded in a movie clip, so that any image I load will always fit correctly in my movie.The script is pretty simple, it reads an xml file where they should be 6 records. Loads the image in the Thumb attribute in on of the 6 containers eg. _root.screen.Event1
Code:
for (i=0; i < 6; i++){ MyEvent = Event[i].attributes ; _root.screen["Event"+i].Title.text = MyEvent.Title ;
[code]....
It works but not as expected. It looks like only the container is scaled down not the image really.
I'm having a bit of a problem here. As per the title, my flash swf file works fine when tested from the IDE, but when I publish it and open it through the browser, the stage doesn't seem to resize along with the window.I post below a bare-bones example. The "back" movie clip should resize, only it remains at the starting dimensions
I've been creating this banner: [url removed] which accesses an xml document, replaces some texts etc, but as soon as you open it up in a browser (like with the dropbox link I pasted) the banner only loops on the first movie clip. Put in another way: The banner you see is looping through only the first movie clip. But the swf file (and the html file) work fine from the local path of my computer.
I'm using the following code to load a .jpg into a movie clip container the problem is I need the container to be a specific size I tried loader.content.width = 50; and loader.content.height = 50; the height part works but the width doesn't work my image just expands beyond the stage width.How do i set the size of the movie clip container?I don't care if the image gets distorted i have a resize script for the images before they are loaded into flash.[code]
So I have a movieclip that I am dynamically adding to the stage when a user clicks a particular button. There are multiple button that each result in the movieclip getting attached to the staged and scaled to a different particular size. Instead of attaching a new instance of the movieclip every time a button is clicked, I only want to attach a new movieclip the first time one of the buttons are clicked and then scale the dynamically added movie to the size specified in the functions for all of the subsequent button clicks. To be clear, I want to attach the movieclip on the first click and then scale it for all of the subsequent clicks.
Imagine I have a movie clip on the main timeline that has text in it. If I use the free transform tool on this clip, it resizes the movie and the text within.
However, if I resize the clip using AS2 e.g. clip._height = x; then the clip is resized but the text isn't.
Is there an easy way of achieving the effect that the transform tool has using AScript or do I have to set all the text params separately when I resize the movie
i have a button thats adds a movie clip to the stage...the movie clip height is bigger than the stage. is it possible to have the stage "extend" when you click the button to show the whole movie clip?
ActionScript Code: addPic.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, addImage); function addImage(event:MouseEvent):void{ var mc:MovieClip = new testClip(); this.addChild(mc); }
kinda like this i guess [URL] when you click on the flash on that page it expands and stuff
Dear members and experts in Kirupa forum, first I apologize because I only join this forum just to ask this question . I already come across some flash forum but can't get the answer to my problem. If somebody from this forum come up with a solution, I may have myself a frequently visited forum. It works, of course... but that's not the problem.The problem occurs when I want to have button scrBtn that can toggle between Full Screen view and normal view.It is obvious that the image that I loaded in the movie clip will get pixelated.That's why when I click the scrBtn button here is the script:
What I'm wanting to happen is that when the "body" movie clip changes size, I want the objects within it to be scaled proportionally (keeping the x:y ratio the same). The result that I'm wanting will result in the contents (as a whole) being proportionally scaled to the height (because it will always be the smaller dimension in my case) of the current size of the body mc.
I've uploaded my .fla so you can see what im working with. The red square is the body that i've managed to scale but I have not yet added anything within it. (I have tried but it's contents distort when the body is resized)
I'm having some strange luck in building an image slide show.I load the image paths into an array from an XML page and then step through the array elements w/ forward and back buttons.I have an empty image clip on the stage where I create an empty movie clip inside each time a new image is loaded.I load the image into the second movie clip like this:[code]Now, 98% of the time this works perfectly, but there is some certain times where the image resizing is completely ignored and the image gets loaded as it's normal size.Can anyone see why the image sizing get's ignored in some instance?
how do i add a movie clip to a button position? i want a button that, when clicked, slides out to a certain position and stop. kinda like a drawer in a desk.
