ActionScript 3.0 :: Manipulate Bitmap Data Of Externally Loaded Image

May 2, 2011

I need to be able to manipulate the bitmap data of an externally loaded image (an image from the internet), however there seem to be security protocols preventing access to this.Is there a way I can gain access to the bitmap data of an image loaded from an external source? What I'm after is being able to save the image to disk, or pass the image to the printer. (I can do both of these things, but I'm not being given proper access to an external image)I've done a few work arounds and the best I've been able to get is it working for a few images, but not all images. Even if the image loads properly and can be displayed in flash, I'm not guaranteed access to the bitmap data.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Resize Externally Loaded Pictures?

Feb 28, 2010

I have been looking around a bit everywhere, but everything I've tried just don't work.I am looking for a simple way to resize an externally loaded picture in AS2.Exemple:We have 4 movie clips (that we will use as containers), and 4 JPEGs, each with a different pixel resolution. What we need is to first, load these JPEGs into their movie clips (no problem for this part > using loadMovie), but then resize them (once loaded) so that they all have the size they are supposed to be (let say here they are all supposed to have a size of 150x100 pixels).Problem is, I have been trying many ways to resize them, but so far none of them work..._width and _height do not work either since they seem to work proportionally of the original loaded picture (ie. a 640x480 jpeg will not be resized same as a 1280x740, which I think is weird... but well).

ActionScript 3.0 :: Width Limit When Bitmap Is Loaded Externally?

Oct 23, 2009

If I drag a bitmap onto the stage, and add a slider to scale it, I can scale it immensely large, over 80,000 pixels wide. Yet when I load the bitmap using the Loader class, it disappears when scaled beyond a width over 8000pixels. What's going on that makes one seemingly infinitely scalable, and the other limited?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Displaying Externally Loaded Image Multiple Times

Mar 6, 2012

What I'm trying to do is quite simple. Load an image externally, then display it (addChild it) multiple times, in different places, without loading it again and again. (Granted, caching means the image won't be downloaded multiple times, but I'd like to avoid those annoying disk accesses as well.) I know that flash doesn't actually support this. A while ago I was trying this same thing, I dug around for hours, and there was no real solution.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Loaded External Image And Bitmap Properties

Dec 28, 2010

I am still wrapping my head around AS3 and have been building out functionality that loads external images (PNG) from XML and putting them into MovieClips that have interactive events assigned.[code]What I'm trying to do is smooth the images when they are loaded and then adding them to the container "imageClick". What is happening is that the "image" is returning null. A lot of the code above is snippets I've been finding and I guess I'm confused with how some of these things work together.If I remove all the "image" functionality and change the line:[code]The images load fine and show up, but they aren't smooth when scaled.I guess what I'm asking, is how come my "image" object is returning null every time?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Bitmap Displaying Properly Loaded Image

Apr 14, 2007

I have some problems with Bitmap displaying properly loaded image, when providing variables as width and height in the constructor as opposed to numbers, example:

[Code]....

Running the app with this code cuts away half of the picture from right and half of the picture from the bottom. Since the BitmapData is filled with solid white background, the clipping is clearly visible. When line marked with [*] is commented out, and line marked with [**] is uncommented instead, the whole picture displays and all is just as expected. The only difference between those two lines of code is, that in line [*] are used some properties+variables, and constants are used in line marked with [**].

IDE :: Resize Image Loaded In A Movie Clip?

I'm trying to resize an image loaded in a movie clip, so that any image I load will always fit correctly in my movie.The script is pretty simple, it reads an xml file where they should be 6 records. Loads the image in the Thumb attribute in on of the 6 containers eg. _root.screen.Event1

Code:

for (i=0; i < 6; i++){
MyEvent = Event[i].attributes ;
_root.screen["Event"+i].Title.text = MyEvent.Title ;

[code]....

It works but not as expected. It looks like only the container is scaled down not the image really.

Actionscript 3 :: Resize Dynamically Loaded Image Into Flash?

Sep 25, 2010

Am struggling to find the right as3 code to resize an image once it is dynamically called into the stage and placed in a MC. I am loading using:

var myLoader :Loader = new Loader();
mc.addChild(myLoader);
var url :URLRequest = new URLRequest("myimage.jpg");
myLoader .load(url );

The stage will eventually open up into fullscreen (works ok) so I need to keep the image in its original size which is much bigger than the stage. What I need to do is shrink it on loading to the same height as the stage whilst keeping the width in proportion (oh and center it). I have tried all sorts of codes but cant find anything to work as all I have managed to do is resize the MC containing the image but NOT the image itself.

I'm loading several images inside a frame, but the images will have different aspect ratios. My goal is to load all images so that the width or height does not exceed the frame. The 'difficult' part is to maintain the aspect ratio of the image. I'm not aware of any _scale function that scales both the height and width of an image (so the aspect ratio is maintained), something like that would be useful.
