I've been trying to get a simple fade out of a logo to work. I converted the logo to a movieclip called logo_mc I click on the logo_mc movieclip and insert this actionscript.

I have also tried putting the code on the main timeline without any success.

I have a flash button link using actionscript 3.0. The animation is a fade in of a logo. The problem is that the button is only a link during the animation, ie. when the logo has fully faded in it stops becoming a link.

I want to load the logo on the stage in a fade in manner. What I mean to say that its alpha properties will increases gradually and once reached to 100 it will stop. But in my code it loops continuously . It is very easy for all of you but I have some confusion how to write the Delete on Enter Frame.

I've been utilizing Parsley to break apart some of the coupling in this project, and I'd like to start chiseling away at the use of static functions. I will explain the basic architecture first, and then I'll ask my questions. Within this application exists a static utility which sends/receives HTTP requests. I am not able to understand, why a static class cannot replace a Singleton design pattern .
Cannot a static class, can be used to ensure, the class is never/once only, instantiated. Because that is the facility "static" key words provide , however it doesnot allow instantiation, but that is much similar to the limitation of instantiation once only.
I got an FLA from flashden and deserately need to customizing it. I am trying to make the Text dynamic (FROM XML) but I still want to keep the animation in the file. I have attached the FLA. I want the xml to have to options. One for the Main name and one for the subtext.

How should vector artwork be drawn in Freehand so that white details sitting over a blue base are still readable when alpha of e.g. 50% is applied in Flash 8 ? In Freehand 9 I created a logo. Logo has an rgb mix blue base rectangle and rgb white drawn shapes on top. I also drew over the text and gave it the rgb blue as a fill with line none. That sits on top of one of the white shapes.

I have two vectors (they don't need to stay vectors). They are the exact same picture but colored differently. I want to have the first one's colors transition to the colors on the other image.I'd prefer a dynamic way (eg bitmap manipulation) so I can save myself the filesize and not have to just make a manual color tween.

It's called InterpolateColor.I have managed to create a class out of the original code but I am trying to make the class static so that I don't have to create an instance of it in my controller class... Just transitioning into object orient programming and I got stuck trying to create textField using static function. I searched online about this and none of them were useful. I dont want this to be just public function because then I cant access this function from other classes. I would like every classes to access this function so I need it to be static.

Not sure what it's really called, but I'm curious as to how I would go about taking two images I've drawn and somehow make Flash tween them. It's hard to explain as I don't know about it other than that I've seen it executed in a few animations before. I know for sure because of some that used it poorly, where the parts of two completely different images transitioned like a tween. I want to try to use this with static images that go together in a short animation. Is this a built-in function in Flash? Or is it some user-made ActionScript function? If either, what's it called or how would I use it?
View 1 RepliesBasically I have 2 classes, A and B. B derives from A. Inside A, I declare a static variable/constant to the class of B. When I run the program, I get a null object reference error, with the line pointing to the class declaration of B, i.e.

Also, this error only occurs when the variable is static. If it's just a normal variable it works fine, i.e.

I can probably work around this, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass. Anybody know what's causing it, or is this a Flash bug?
I want to create an static drawing (say any animals like giraffe) using some points, lines, drawing etc. Now i want to update the drawing by passing the parameters say height of his legs, its width or its color.The parameters are supplied from the web page. The image will be a 2D image.I am searching on which technology should i implement this for more than 10 hours but cannot find any perfect solution.Right now i am thinking i can use Adobe flash in which i can do some programming to create an drawing and change the drawing by passing the parameters to a Flash file, i think we can pass it when we embed an flv.

After importing the jpg image and converting to a movie clip symbol, I am able to create a motion tween where it grows and moves, but using the alpha setting, I cannot get it to become transparent. Is this not possible with an imported image?

Using Motion tween Im attempting to make an image fade up! Meaning the image slowly fades up from the bottom of the image until the whole image can be seen.
I've tried using the fade effect and adding a masked layer that's tweened, however it fades in very harshly indeed, with the line of the mask very obvious.
Is there any way that I can do this so that it looks smoother and the line is less distinctive.

I am trying to make an effect where a bunch of square fade in sequence (without using Voetsjoebas code btw, I'm practicing my own), but I have a problem with the handlers. I want to assign a handler to _root["square"+(i-1)] but it doesnt work if I do. Check out the comments in the code as well. What you see now is the proper effect but I need to move the handler to a different place so that I can assign a different handler to _root.

2. You create a variable reference to the static class in a separate class.
3. Splice some items from the reference variable in the separate class.
4. Trace the static class and the items have been removed from that too.
5. Verify several times.
6. Get confused.

Ok, so I have a bit of a mess here (Which I'm probably not doing right anyway, which could be my problem...). I have a document class, I'll call it as Body.as, that creates an object from another class known as Headgear.as. There are also other objects created from other classes, or will be in the future. Now, amoung all this, Headgear.as and all of the other classes Body.as will use to make objects require the use of dragging functions (starting and stopping dragging). On stopping drags, position checks are then made to compare a particular hidden movieclip with the dragged MC.
To try and save myself some hassle (from making the same functions over and over to ensuring that when the objects are created I don't need to send a complete crapload of variables just to ensure the position checking function would work), I had the functions for the event listeners (Which are set-up on the draggable MCs in Headgear.as) just direct to functions in Body.as

If I created a static method. say I decide to call on other methods within that static method. Do those methods I call on need to be static as well? what If I used some of the properties. Not to store data permanently, but just within that process. Do those properties need to be static ??

View 9 RepliesAlright, so I have a class that is linked (via the linkage panel) to a scrollbox class. I'll paste the class here:[code]Ignoring the formatting, the commented out functions are the ones causing the issue. Adobe says that it's a static class and I can't use non-static functions. The way I wanted to use it was:
1. Call the page button generating function above.
2. In the main code in my program is this line:scrollbox.setClickFunction(historyContent.generate Page);So when the buttons that are supposed to be generated are clicked, the scrollbox class can call the History pages generatePage function and pass it which page to show. (I did this because there was a lot of text and a limit on how much would display, so small chunks sounded logical).
3. In the onClick function (which I haven't finished yet because the rest wont work), when you click one of the buttons it calls the set function. Its that simple.
is it possible to modify this script to make images load like a fade in/fade out slideshow. It works with buttons to action the transition I want, but I want a similar script to play a simple slideshow with same transitions.
