I have 3 .mov files I am trying to import to the stage. Each time I bring them in all goes well. When I test my swf they lose the last 25%~ of the audio no matter what codec I use audiobitrate etc.

View 1 RepliesI ran a simple live video streaming application for the first time with actual users and ran into a couple of serious performance issues that had not turned up during testing. In this instance there was one video stream from a live web cam and used FMLE at 150 kbps using VP6 and MP3 @22k. There were 16 clients and everything worked pretty good for about 30 minutes. (although some clients said their audio and video were out of sync by up to 3 seconds)
Then individual clients would have either the video freeze or the video would continue and the audio would stop. These clints had to "disconnect" and then "connect" again to the application. This happened to all of the clients at one time or another for several minutes. I stopped and restarted the FMLE with progessively lower bandwidth settings down to 75 kbps but still clients were having the same issue.
I eventually stopped the FMLE and used the applications built in publisher at 45 kbps and that seemed to eliminate the freeze/dropping issue. But of course the video quality was very poor and some clients still reported that the audio was out of sync with the video. The server hosting the FMS application is a quad processor dell with lots of memory and network connectivity. The Flash Media Admin Console performance graph showed the total Bandwidth as 3 Mbps at maximum.

It seems to work fine in the library but every time I try to drag it on (or do an import to stage command) it simply doesnt let me move it over! I've tried with a wav and an mp3 but to no avail!

View 3 RepliesI am trying to edit and mix sound effects and music for a FLASH animation in ProTools. After much trial and error I figured out how to make an accurate Quick Time of my FLASH file to spot sounds to in ProTools. The problem is when I import my audio into FLASH, it speeds up making it out of sync with the picture. I did several tests and it looks like for ever minute of ProTools the audio in FLASH speeds up 2 frames. Both programs are running at 24 FPS.
It is not a NTSC vs Flim speed issue. All other programs read my PT audio file correctly and show it to be the correct length with the SFX where I placed them. FLASH speeds it up, making my animation not time to the music and effects causing me to resync all my layers. How do I accurately export a sound file into an AIFF format and import it into FLASH without FLASH changing the speed? I have my audio set to Stream as it should be. After 3 minutes my audio is 8 frames (1/3 of a second) out of sync with the picture.
I built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play.The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. I am using DynamicStream to automatically switch incoming streams to the appropriate bitrate depending on the available bandwidth. I was wondering if there is anyway in which I can instruct the DynamicStream to allow more bandwidth for audio (obviously at the cost of losing some frames from the video).

In my flash file I go File/Import Video/ then select Load external video for playback
click Next, Pick the skin, then a bar pops up saying Getting Metadata
Then nothing. Nothing in the Library or Stage. Anyone know why? Hard to think that it happened twice on 2 different machines and OS's.

If I put it there, the sound will play but the screen is just white, and I tried converting it to other files using different programs but it always messes up the video. I made this video in after effects, it's a demo reel, and I lost a few files since I made this months ago, so I can't just go back and render it out in another format. Is there anything I can do? I just need the mp4 to play as an embedded video

View 1 RepliesI'm having trouble with a simple AS3 (CS5.5) project I have imported a video encoded through Adobe media encoder as a FLV file and have added a Navigation Cue Point at the end of the video as I would like the video to simply go to a frame number when the video has ended so it doesn't stop on that video.
I have used a code I have used on many occasions in AS2 which I put on a keyframe at the top where the video runs under and give the video an instance name of vid:

Ideally I just want the code go to a frame number when the video finishes instead of staying on the video.
I want to control this imported video with UP and DOWN keys, to play forward and backwards, but it's not smooth at all, and it lags when in reverse - I read that I could import the video as bitmap sequence, and so I tried exporting the video as bmp image files from After Effects, but there are like 2108 images, and Flash crashed after importing them!
Is there a better way to import a video to Flash, in frames, so that it acts just like a movieclip and runs as smooth as one?
Client has supplied a dvd with .bup, .ifo, & .vob files Can I convert them somehow to import the video into Flash??

View 2 RepliesI imported multiple flvplayback videos on my file via the Video Wizard Import. After that I removed all videos except one. But it's still trying to load those old video and the skin of their player when I preload the file. I am sure there's no player on the stage except the one I need. And when I need to play the file, it's working well, the only problem is the extra loading for 6 skins that I don't use anymore and the time to look for 6 videos that are not there. So here're my questions;
1-When you import a video via Wizard, it there a script hidden somewhere that can be found? 2-When you import a flv to the stage, there's a loading bar saying getting metadata. Is there a place to edit or erase this metadata ?
3-Any other ideas of where I could look to find this hidden data or trace or ghost that needs to be remove from the file ?

Problem: I have two AVI video files... one 4GB (20 minute) long and one 2GB (10 minute) long... and want to combine them to have a single 30 minute long FLV video file.
Question:
- Can I do this in Flash? When I "convert" a single AVI video to a FLV using the File, Import method... I can't really see the video on the Flash time line.
- I tried doing a File, Import for file-1.avi and then doing it for file-2.avi... but the two were on top of each other... and not end to end.

But it's running very slow in the divice. It takes very long time to start playing, and the video pictures are jerky. How can I improve it to make the video runing more faster and fluent? Should I add more code to the AS2?

View 0 Repliesi am creating a package, MainTimeLine.as, to extend my main timeline. i use the FLVPlayback component under the package. however, i get the compile error:
1172: Definition fl.video:FLVPlayback could not be found. so i added the "import fl.video.FLVPlayback;" line to my MainTimeLine.as file, but flash gives the above error. now i had this problem when i added this code directly under a frame of the main timeline until i added a FLVPlayback instance to my library. now, i am trying to simply embed all of the code under the MainTimeLine.as file and have the as file encapsulate all of it. but, i still get that error.
so, how do i get flash cs4 to recognize and use the import properly
I am trying to capture video from my webcam to a video display. I created a button on my main application and it gets my webcam just fine. When I try to use the same code inside a class I created it does not work. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Here is my code to capture the webcam.
